This place sucks I am still standing in here waiting for help in lumber isle... Literally screamed for assistance still nothing....... Its now day 5 of waiting news has come from the paint isle that our story of waiting has reached the tropic lands of the gardening center... The wait continues, I have no idea when assistance may come, supplies are dwindling, we considered a voyage to the front isles after hearing they are rich in drinks and snacks. But alas we dare not leave post as we fear that the assistance will arrive when we depart on that venture... Its now day 9 moral is at all time low, the myth of assistance seems to be just that, a myth. We wait on.... Day 14 battery is running low, we search for things to do while waiting as we try to conserve battery life by avoiding cat videos on YouTube, earlier this morning a man approached wearing a home depot smock but he told us he didnt work in this department.... The wait continues... Its now day 23, the gods of home depot walk pass us as we lay in a state of disarray, we ask for help and are either ignored by these mighty Greek idiots, or told that our Savior, the chosen one of the lumber department is on the way. Our lives are just a blimp of theirs, they look down at us as children not knowing anything and willing to believe.... THE CHOSEN ONE IS NEAR! Nope false alarm.... Its day 31..... We went to the one in Freeport we have everything here. Life is better.... OR just go to Lowes literally anywhere is better then here

Worst place the anyone could shop not only spent thousands and thousands of dollars , Im being shopping , give my business to Home Deport either in the store or online . My last experience was the purchase of a French door I waited over two months before the first shipment came they place an order with the wrong model they order another one after waiting for another a month-and-a-half I go and pick it up and its all broken now they supposed to place another order which I have to wait another month and I have any seems like nobody cares how much time I have to wait how much I have to pay to the contractor I guess in a few words my business dont mean s*** to them well this is my last time Ill be shopping in this place theyre not the only one in this business and if they continue this way Im sure they would be losing a lot of customers

I have never had a more terrible experience than I had while trying to shop at this Home Depot. Ive been on hold for over 45 minutes waiting on hold for someone from customer service to assist me !! Take your business to Lowes or some other similar store, otherwise youll have a similar experience. This place is notorious for taking money up front and stalling on providing the goods. Ive paid over $10K and have been jerked around for over a month and a half !! Ive been told theres an additional 4 weeks lead time, and I have not yet been able to speak to a person. They say my call is important to them, but theyve no desire to talk to me, otherwise I still wouldnt be on hold !! Very unprofessional indeed !

Service ranges from abysmal to rude to excellent but usually the first two. Its like Forrest Gump says - you never know what you are going to get. One employee actually waved his had in some general direction when I asked him where i could find something, and then walked away. I called company headquarters to complain after that one. Im sure it had a great effect but not so you would notice. On the other hand, its well stocked, reasonably clean and prices are competitive. Just dont expect anyone to be friendly and any more than minimally helpful and you wont be disappointed.

Sorry but this is most definitely THE WORST store on Long island. Next up would be the Elmont store.. Unfortunately for the few who try to help you, there are 10 who would rather be on their phones or somewhere else... PLUS the safety factor is unreal, between all the illegals looking for work and the homeless trying to put your pack of gum in the car, I prohibit my 25 year old daughter to go there without me. Too bad because I had hoped this store would help bring hempstead back to civilization.. Travel to Westbury or go to lowes...

Terrible. My uncle and I asked an employee for help since we had a question about the product. When we approached the employee he said "wait he has to do inventory".He was just standing right next to us inputing stuff into his work device as if he couldnt took one minute just to answer the question. So we waited at least ten minutes for him, just standing there waiting for him. Also the cashiers dont even bother to greet you when you check out.

No one helped me at all. I had to lift a bathroom vanity. Bathroom tile and many other items alone. Im 57 years old female. I couldnt even get someone to tell me where items were. You didnt have bathroom door l needed 28 inch right swing in stock. Many isles were blocked couldnt get down to get what I needed. The cashier wS wonderful though. I needed help getting everything in my truck she did have to call for help 4 times though.

No staff (Hempstead, NY) to ask simple questions to... like "do you have X in stock " even at the "alleged" customer service desk.. i waited nearly 15 min ..... behind 2 other pissed off customers with similar issues... Apparently the service desk staff has only 2 speeds SLOW & STOPPED... Im done ...its Lowes or Ace from now on !!!!!! The 2nd star was for the guard, he at leaste tried to be helpful.....

I go to Home Depot fairly often and have always found the staff helpful and polite . I usually go for small items in electrical or plumbing and someone always help me. Sometimes I may have to wait as they generally only serve one customer at a time, which is fine. So when it is my turn I get undivided attention as well. On ocassion I need to look for somebody but they are always helpful.

One of the bulbs in our China Cabinets was burned and had to reluctantly go to Home Depot for replacement. Well, it was faster that a drive thru at McDonalds. Love their self check out lanes. Simply hassle free and NO you dont need assistance on self check out counter. Its very easy and user friendly. Thanks to Home Depot management for making peoples lives better, one person at a time.

You think this Home Depot is bad, try the one in Freeport. The Hempstead store outshines Freeport store a 1,000 to 1, at least they have most advertised items in stock. And for the most part, the store doesnt look like a tornado blew through it. Getting assistance is still a problem, but at least your not standing in the middle of Yucca Flats after the blast.

Had all kinds of home improvements to make so of course I went to the local Home Depot. They usually have everything I need. As always, friendly staff, no lines at the check out, was able to return the items I didnt need/use. Always happy to wander around this store and talk to the sales people about my upcoming projects.
