Went there this weekend looking for fabric to cover some cushions. The gentleman working was extremely rude and condescending. He emphasized they were an interior design shop, and that everything must be ordered. The gentleman in the back of the store measuring fabric was very helpful and pleasant, but all we saw in the front was this man who felt it was more important for everyone to know about his 12 years of experience and he didnt have time to work with someone who was looking for fabric to "do the job myself". We went in to "Patricks" around the corner, and was told not to ever order anything from Calico corners because all their fabric was seconds and poor quality. I say this because I would have been fine with seconds, but was lead to believe this was the highest quality merchandise and that I didnt belong in this type of store. We spent over an hour in the store and no one ever approached us or offered to help us; thus we didnt know as we were looking at the bolsters of fabric that we wouldnt be able to buy a few yards while we were there until we approached the rude "sales clerk". Very dissapointing compared to the wonderful customer service and pleasantness we experienced in all the other stores in Old Town Alexandria

The fabrics are great, but way so expensive. They charge $120 for just measuring 5 windows while other places charge only $35 for the entire house. As I found out they pay nothing or way beyond low commission to their so called designers(many of them dont have any design education or background). Couple times when we entered to Old Town Alexandria store in Virginia, employees are vacuuming, dusting, and ironing which made us wonder whether they are designers or cleaning ladies who are behind their works. I mean cleaning during the store hours is a complete turn off! If you like to buy things from there, buy your fabrics and give it to someone else to do the job for you. They charge way too much compare to other places with the same quality.

I had slip covers made this summer. I have had slip covers made many times by others with great success, but this subcontractor to Calico Corners did a terrible job. My friends say I should not have accepted it - but I sent it back three times and they said there was not anymore they could do. Everyone comments on how awful it looks.

Chose Calico for reupholstery they did a fantastic job. Very pleased with the result! Fabric selection runs from basic to lux, and pricing clearly presented. Pieces delivered on schedule. Sales staff was very knowledgable. Store can be overly busy on the weekend so plan accordingly.

the worst customer service -- they never called -- they let my furniture sit in a warehouse for 4 weeks without approving the order to the upholsterer. so unprofessional and simply not up toindustry standard
