Gun Shop...holy wow! Theyre awful in there. Ive been in the Military for 10 years and have spent much of that time when not deployed bouncing from one shooting school to the next and even spent a couple of years teaching folks to shoot. This doesnt even include the money out of pocket Ive spent to attend courses outside of the military. I took my wife in today to check out a gun, to see what fit her hand better and as I could hear two employees joking around about keeping their mouth shut, for what ever reason, I gritted my teeth and let them act like they knew what they were talking about. When I asked to see a gun, Gilbert...the stolen valor at the counter said that he wouldnt recommend the weapon I was talking about. I mean seriously guy? How big of an a$$ can you be to interject yourself into a conversation? I didnt ask you opinion, mainly because you work behind a bass pro shop gun counter. Then to tell me you were a "precision weapons technician in the Marine Corps...so what youre saying is you were a POG? Good for you...I will never buy a gun from here only because this dipshit is working and has worked behind the counter.

I was looking at the S&W 9mm Shield, which is a small, lightweight, gun, and when I asked the salesman about its weight he told me it was 40 oz or 2 1/2 pounds. When I told him I didnt think so, that my Stainless Steel Colt 1911 .45 was less than then he told me I was wrong and proceeded to tell me how awful the Shield was and he recommended another pistol. He continued to think its weight was 40 oz, I just couldnt let it go and he did not want to find out. He was a total misinformed idiot. By the way the full sized Colt SS 1911 is less than 40 oz and the Shield tops out at 19 oz. I then went over to look at knives and the two salesmen behind the counter were too busy talking to each other about what they thought was the perfect skinning knife to answer my question about a Kershaw knife I was interested in. I was wondering if it came with the G10 grip - I never found out. I know this is a nice big store but you need qualified salespeople to actually sell stuff, not a bunch of Bozos you hire off the street. Bottom line is, know what you want and do not trust the salesmen which is a bad scenarion for everyone.

Purchased a Arctic Cat ATV from them a little less than a 3 months ago. One of the big selling points was that they are an authorized service center and warranty repair facility, multiple times I was told this. Fact is, they do not have an authorized Arctic Cat service technician at this location and cannot provide any warrantied service on ATVs. I was told to take my ATV to an authorized service center an additional hour and a half away. Subsequently, I was told after the fact that when I purchased my ATV that the Arctic Cat technician had relocated several weeks before I made my 5000.00 plus purchase. I have attempted to call multiple times, left my name and number multiple times to see what the status is on the replacement of the Arctic Cat service technician position being filled, I have yet to receive any information or call back. Buy ammo from here, buy a knife from here, buy anything from here where the only person you have to deal with is the cashier. DO NOT buy a Arctic Cat four wheeler from Round Rock Bass Pro Shops. P.S. The lady that handled the financing was very pleasant to work with.

The staff are wonderful! I also adore their Santas. Very patient so we could get a beautiful photo. Ive been trying for years to get a great holiday picture with my extremely well behaved crew, but always fell far short because other Santas havent listened, pulled the leash in too tight (Ive one where it looks like another Santa is hanging my girl!) & just seemed like they didnt want to dogs there. Not so with the Bass Pro Santas. We just moved to Austin, and both of the Santas we met were awesome (I took my foster dog in one night & came back the next day with my crew). I was able to position my dogs one at a time, tell them to stay & back away... even drop the lead on 10 yr old. My dogs were so relaxed that I almost started crying. I cant tell you how much this means to me, especially since I almost lost my old man to an illness this year. Im so thrilled to have this. Thank you all so much!

I went in there today looking for womens work boots. There was an employee at a service booth feet from where I was looking at the displays on the wall. After a while of looking I pick up a shoe hoping to find out if they have my size. I walk to the counter where now another employee was engaged in a conversation with the employee that was already there. I stood there with the boot in hand in front of them without being acknowledged. So I look around thinking this must not be their department or something, but there is no one else around, no other customers, no other workers. Still these two go on with their conversation without so much as a "well be right with you". So I put the shoe back on the shelf and walk out the door. First and last visit to Bass Pro.

The Tracker Boat center has HORRIBLE customer service and is completely unorganized. Rescheduled our boat delivery date 3 times, (going on 3 weeks and we still dont have our boat, despite already signing paper work) poor customer service, they will tell you stuff in stock when its not, dont care about keeping their word at all. When trying to figure out whats going on and why the Constant rescheduling all I get is bounced around from this person to that person and no one knows why- that is absolutely crazy. Definitely shop around before you come here worst decision we ever made.

Its always a spectacle walking up the grand entrance of one of these behemoth stores. The excitement building with each step towards this wonderous sight. A smile slowly begins to crawl across your face fantasizing about what lies beyond the grand doors. Then youll firm on the handle swing open the door with whoosh of air blowing your hair gently back. Light blinding you till you almost squint them shut. That first step in- you realize youve been here before and its the same stuff from the other one you went to in the next town over.

Great place to visit even if you dont buy anything. Spent about 6hrs straight just walking around with the kids one day. Areas worth noting: - Giant freshwater fishtank - Underwater-themed bowling alley/restaurant - Indoor boat area with decks that make it easy to walk on the pontoons - ATV section which kids like to sit on - Lots of fishing/hunting/camping equipment. Theres also an indoor archery range. Not sure what it takes to use that though. - Toy section, which of course the kids like and I try to avoid.
