They do not allow comparison shopping. Makes me very suspicious. I have shopped here previously and been fine, the prices on meat, especially, have been great, but it had been a while so I wanted to compare their prices to the big chains again. As I was going through the store with my list and jotting down prices to compare I was approached by the manager and told that I could not write down prices. She kept saying that I could browse but not write down prices because it would make them less competitive and that they did not allow price comparing. I guess I was supposed to just remember the prices for everything on my list or just trust that they had a better price. It was really odd and upsetting. It also makes me think that if they are this paranoid about price comparisons I must have been paying too much for something there

I have no problem with the availability of items or services they provide here. In fact, they have many selections of items packed in a decent size store. Service is fast and decent. Parking lot is a hit and miss because of the traffic at the corner which does not allow ample room to go in and out easily. One thing that will discourage me from buying here is the PRICE! It has gone up and cost more than surrounding stores. I now would shop at mile away at Food4Less to save. The Rotisseri roasted chicken here has gone up from $5 to $6.5-7.5, which I have stop buying (Sams Club is only $4.99). If its a urgent need to get something quickly, I might stop here to pick up an item or two. Other then that, I dont go here regularly to shop for grocery.

City Fresh is an outstanding market on many different levels! The main qualities that jump out at first notice are the great deals on fresh produce, the great variety of both organic and affordable product, and also the bakery! As of late there has been a sale on golden delicious apples for $.49/lb which is reflective of their incredible prices on all produce. If you are looking for a good deal on produce, an organized and small setting, and a great variety of bakery items and organic choices, go to City Fresh Market. The employees are also very kind.

Rezas Restaurant recommended City Fresh for my wedding cake, and I cannot thank them enough. City Fresh was outstanding! We had a chocolate cake with strawberries and whipped frosting, and our guests have not stopped raving about it. The price was probably 1/3 of what we would have paid for something similar at the Swedish Bakery, and they delivered it to our reception and took care of the whole thing. 5 STARS.

Favorite grocery store in the area with plenty of European, Latin, Asian, etc goods. Great variety of fresh produce, deli and meats all at reasonable prices. Not to mention the tasty bakery options. The parking lot in front of the store is usually full so park across the street at the empty lot.

Ive been coming to city fresh since they opened, and I never had any negative experience. The mangers and employees are always friendly and courteous. Everything is always fresh and not expired like in other European stores. Id rather pay a few bucks more for quality.

Small neighborhood market. Everything is great but prices. I would say everything costs more then in other food stores. And I used to find good deals on meat and chicken , but there are no longer ... mineral water 6 bottles is 7.99 while at Tonys its 3.99.

#1 European Food Market but customer service is awful. This store boasts good choice of fresh baked pastries. This place is not so expensive. I usually wait for 5-7 min to park and walk in. There are few parking spots only.

Great customer service in bakery and deli , we forgot to pick up part of our order and one of the staff members traveled all the way to Elgin to deliver it for our party which was about to start . Thanks City Fresh Market !!!

This store carries a lot for being so small. Great selection of products that seem mostly European. Prices might be a little high, but youre really paying for items that are hard to find.
