I found the vehicle that fit what I had been looking for, a 2013 Taurus SHO, on the website for Bob Swope Ford in Elizabethtown, KY. The actual transaction of purchasing the vehicle was painless and the sales associate was very accommodating and friendly. I decided to purchase the vehicle despite discovering that the dealer had permitted the vehicle to be driven as a demo by a salesperson and the mileage was higher by 3500 than the website indicated. There wasnt much I could do about the mileage, but it should have been my first hint that something was off with a dealer that is putting that many miles on cars they have posted for sale online with the odometer reading documented. The financing process was also uneventful and satisfactory. Because this was a Saturday, the detail department was closed and the Cilajet sealant that was part of the purchase couldnt be applied that day meaning another 2+ hour drive from Nashville would be required. I scheduled to take a day off and made the trek to drop off the dealer. They tried to give me a little loaner Focus but ultimately provided a decent Explorer Sport which seems more appropriate considering the inconvenience. My son and I spent the next 6 or so hours in Louisville making the best of the day. We finally picked up the car and it looked very good and headed home to Nashville. Now this is where the issues began; not knowing the service history I took it to my local dealer and had them do a complete service just in case. In the course of doing this I found out that the vehicle had never been run through any sort of service at Bob Swope Ford at all despite them clearly driving it regularly through a service interval. Additionally and most alarming is that despite the vehicle being on their lot long enough to accumulate 3500 miles and my separate visit back, they completely failed to discover and carry out 2 safety recalls (for your reference the specific recalls are 13S04 Fuel Delivery Module Replacement and 14S10 Right-hand Front Half-shaft Retention to which I will let you look up online and decide seriousness for yourself) that my local dealer considered serious enough to recommend not driving the vehicle until they were completed. I was also informed directly by their used car manager that their standard policy/procedure if for no used vehicle to EVER leave their lot with outstanding safety recalls, not because it is required on used cars, but because it is in the best interest of their potential customer’s safety. I contacted Bob Swope Ford in writing asking that their GM please call me. The gentleman who did finally call wasnt the GM but he represented the dealer. This representative was very cavalier about my concerns on their lack of concern for customers safety to which he casually dismissed my concerns and stated that I should have found them myself using a Carfax report. Their attitude was indifferent and dismissive. I dont typically take time to write reviews but I want to make anyone I can aware that given the option, they should consider any non-Swope Auto Group owned dealerships since this apathetic attitude towards their customers safety is likely systemic throughout the organization.

We went to Bob Swope to trade in our 2012 Ford Fusion and we met Brian who was very helpful and patient. He catered to our questions and offered to get keys to whatever vehicle we had interest in. Finally, we settled for a 2016 Ford Explorer...he did the paperwork up and passed it on to the finance manager Ms. Brown and Sales GM, Andrew Sunkel. Ms. Brown was very efficient and worked to get the numbers down as low as possible and within budget. Andrew, stepped in and offered to help even more and finally got the numbers down to where we were comfortable and able to close the deal. The Bob Swope team was excellent! Brian was extremely knowledgeable on all the features of the vehicle, he answered all our questions until we had no other questions to ask. The team even offered for us to call them back or return anytime we had other questions or needed help with anything, we obliged. The team led by the Sales GM were very professional and not pushy at all. I would recommend Bob Swope Ford in Elizabethtown, KY to all other potential car buyers. They will do their best to help you get into the car of your choice within your budget. Thanks Bob Swope Ford! Jose Hocog

As a career Soldier with 25+ years of Service, I have purchased new and used vehicles from a dozen or more dealers all across the country, Bob Swope Ford in Elizabethtown, KY is among the best. Samantha, our Sales Person and Army Veteran, went above and beyond the call of duty to help my wife and I find the exact 2015 Ford Explorer we wanted. Her integrity and commitment to duty in helping people is beyond reproach. We gave her a list of options we wanted, and she found our deal and brought it to the dealership for us. Some may think the buying process is a bit of a pain, but I enjoy the challenge and thrill of making the best deal possible. Ron, the Sales Manager, was a pleasure to work with in making this deal. He gave us every rebate and special offer possible and helped us find even better financing than we could get by ourselves. They were working out of a temporary sales office when we bought our car but since then, the dealership has a built a very nice new facility that we go to for maintenance and service.

Tim Dumas in sales was great!! BUT, when I purchased the truck the same day, I failed to walk around the right side. A few days later my wife noticed the front tire didnt match. Contacted the local Firestone dealer (3 of the 4 tires made) and was told it was a diffent size and not their brand. Also the left rear again on the right side was missing the 3 inch center hub cap. Would not think a pominent dealership would sale a vehicle with diffent tire sizes and tread. Noticed the brake pedal would stop but could be pushed to the floor. Showed this to Tim and we preceeded to the service department. Was told the soonest they could see it was in 8 days on August 2nd at 9:30. Dropped it off the day before. Went back at 1:30 on the 2nd and was told had not gotten to it yet.. Called Tim. The service manager Steve called me back and said nothing wrong with it. Diving cars for 50 years. Really surprised with this kind of customer service from a very fine Ford dealership. Dont walk away.........RUN

I moved to the area not long ago and needed a truck to help with the land i got. After going back to my old dealership in Louisville (which I bought 5 cars from!) I got treated like dirt. They told me they couldnt help me and Id have to have a impossible down payment. So I ended up at Swope Ford just looking around mostly scared from my last dealership and what I would hear from this one. Thats when I met Samantha Willis (a salesperson), she was very understanding and very knowledgeable when I told her about my situation. Before I knew I was driving a brand new F-150 with the same payment as my other car! I was so happy how they treated me that I brought my wife back and Sam put her in her very own new car. I know now that I will be back for every other car I buy, Swope Ford and Sam have my business for life! Thanks Samantha Willis for all your hard work you did for us!!!!
