Can you say awful? Ive spent the better part of today trying to return my rented textbooks. First, I was told the books could not be returned without my receipt. Why? I wasnt looking for money, just honoring the terms of the rental agreement. Second, I tried to do the online process to return them because I couldnt go back to the store today. Unfortunately I decided to rent a book from the store ,not processed online, so I was told that book couldnt be returned with the other ones. This is where it gets silly. I was told I would be charged the price of the book plus a non return penalty, but I could adjust the rental agreement online and pay only the difference between what I paid to rent it and the cost of the book. I like that option better. However, because I didnt rent it online, there is no online agreement to adjust. Furthermore, the store couldnt adjust my account over the phone. I was told I had to come in and pay the difference. If i could come in, I would just return the $*&king book! Then, I was told after being charged the full price of the book the store would continue to solicit me until I made it official that I was keeping the book. Im not a finance major, but wouldnt my purchase of the book solidify ownership? I called the store back and got voice mail or hung up on. I called the downtown location and explained everything that happened and was told that you dont need the receipt to return rentals. Their instructions to me were to include the book in the box with a note and there should be no penalty. Thank you downtown lady! You rock!

Everything is over priced. Not organized at all. I ordered and paid online and my books werent ready before I had classes and needed them. When they finally told me my full order was ready I got there and they said that two books somehow got cancelled because they didnt have them in store but when I looked for them they were still there in the store and I had to bring it over to them to show them. I got home and opened the rest of my package to find that they had gotten my entire order wrong except for the two books that I had grabbed myself. Waiting for them to open tomorrow to see what can be done about it. Terrible experience never going with them again! The only thing they ever offered was convenience based on location but this was far from convenient. Stick with Amazon.

The strengths of the Bookstore: They have a good chance of having the book you need for class. They have a good selection of gear (although they are NOT starving student prices). You have about a 40% chance of finding a helpful staff person that knows what they are doing. Starbucks is good. The weaknesses of the Bookstore: The instructors do not always communicate with the bookstore so selection can be frustrating. Parking can be a challenge during during busy times. The book return policy can also be a bit frustrating. To be fair though, I think that is the case with just about all the college bookstores.

I would advise every student to not shop here!! The prices are ridiculously over marked and available online for much cheaper. ASU uses this store to bleed there students of any cash they have. I have noticed an increase in special ASU edition of books, forcing you to spend $250+ plus for a brand new book they wont rebuy, because they want to fudge you. The workers are all nice and upstanding employees though. But seriously if ASU wants to respected by their students why not be proactive in helping get book prices down. New American University my a**.

I ordered a couple shirts online and the bookstore lost them. Waited around for 45 minutes as they looked around. They told me theyd email me when they found them, so I left empty-handed. After a couple more days I returned because I still hadnt gotten an email. Turns out theyd decided to just refund my money without contacting me. I didnt want my money back, I wanted the shirts I bought... Prices are ridiculous and the service I experienced was not stellar, to say the least. Horrible experience all in all.

Total rip off! They charge ridiculous prices. I saved $100s just this semester buying off amazon with free 2 day shipping. the bookstore wanted over $200 for 1 book. I went on amazon searched the isbn and got it for just over $30. How can ASU justify this? even the teachers are amazed when they find out how much the students are getting charged. it is not enough that last summer I paid over $4000 for 2 classes and pay nearly $6000 every semester for instate.

Great if youre an ASU student looking for books youre required to buy. Its huge, but its not like some student bookstores Ive been in in Ann Arbor or Seattle. Theres not a lot of weird extra stuff for non students. And look, check out your online options first before buying your books because I got a lot of my schoolbooks cheaper elsewhere. Its pretty old school to be stuck with paying a traditional student bookstore $150/book price.

Dont ever think about shopping here. Beside the ridiculous expensive prices, they will not accept returns, though the receipt has the return policy, but believe me they will come up with a excuse and you will have to argue with them to make them accept the return. The employees are super nice, but the store policy and prices is ridiculous !!

Worked here for about 5 months. The prices appear to be marked up like crazy (Really, Are you even trying to compete with the prices of online book market?). The usual Univ/Prof specific textbook scam with a new edition coming out every year. Unlike other retail jobs, It was easier to face the customers than speak to the managers.

The ASU does what it needs to do sell books pertaining to ASU classes. However the main problem with the book store is that you pay extra for the convenience of having the store on campus. Another negative note is that you cant spend the on campus currency, M&G, at the book store, which is frankly ridiculous.

Only benefit to this place is the central location on campus. Overcharges for books, both rented and bought, and of course, everything else in the store is overpriced like crazy, from clothing to simple school supplies. Really do not recommend going here for anything.

So expensive!! Each composition book is $4+, let alone the cost of getting a backpack or textbook. Unless youre forced by a professor to get an ASU-specific version of something, anything youre looking for can be found for hundreds of dollars cheaper on Amazon.

I love the items that the bookstore carries, and the staff has always been polite and helpful to me. My challenge is the really high costs of everything in the store email I go (and I have never seen a really good sale here, personally).

Pretty good selection, but did not have the hat I really wanted in my size. They were willing to order it, but we were just visiting, so it wouldnt help. Parking lot is small, and the parking spots were ridiculously small/tight.

Great place for getting ASU merchandise & souvenirs. Has a ton of stuff. It also has the Apple campus store within it. You can find all possible books here which ASU recommends. Things are a bit expensive here.
