Steingold Volvo; never fails to exceed expectations! I have been a Steingold customer for about 20 years. Bought two Volvos (yes I do drive my Volvo s about 200.000 miles on an average) from the dealership while living in Rhode Island. I always had the cars in service and repair in their shop. Still, over the years Steingold Volvo’s staff always managed to exceed my expectations of their services, not only the technical and mechanical services they provide to the cars, but the excellent customers service of their staff at the service and sales desks. Drop-off and pick up to and from home and often from the train station when my car was in for service. Their personal attention is assuring and builds trust. I moved to Upstate New York 4 years ago. I did find good dealers but none of them matched the “extra mile” service that Steingold’s staff provides. So when my V70 with 194,000 miles needed to retire, I decided to check out Steingold’s website and found a Certified Pre-owned 2008 V70 that got my interest. Unfortunately it did not have the Euro rails which I need to transport my Peinert X25, kayaks, bikes etc. They accomdated me by ordering the euro rails and promised to install them for me. Unfortunately when these rails did come in it turned out that this specific V70 could not be equipped with roof rails. I was disappointed, but Steingold’s staff did accommodate me and came up with an alternative; a 2009 XC70. They honored the original deal with the V70 and last week I went to pick up the XC70. Again the experience was unique. The car was ready and as expected in excellent condition. It was good so see the “old’ staff; friendly and welcoming as ever. All in all another great experience with Steingold Volvo in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Just to reiterate, this time I bought the car unseen and un-driven and drove approximately 300 miles to pick it up; that is how much trust I have in Steingold Volvo of Pawtucket. An outstanding dealership; they deserve to be Dealer of the Year again in 2015. Thank you all at Steingold Volvo. I wish you continued success in your business. marjorie
What a great experience - a must for anyone, but especially all New England military members! Steingold is a family owned dealership and brothers Michel and Stephen will go out of their way to make your purchase a great experience. Steingold even found a way to register my new car in Texas (w/ Texas tags) which is my home of record for the military. This saved me both money and the hassle of having redoing all my registration paperwork. Moreover, their possitive attitude and no pressure sales approach is unmatched. I stopped at two other RI Volvo dealerships and often felt like I was bothering them with my questions/visits. Steingold has changed my car buying experience! I worked with Stephen during this sale and he was patient as we discussed the details of the purchase. He let me test drive the new car multiple times (without him in the car) over multiple days and simply said to "just let (him) know" when Im ready to make a decision. After a couple of days, I finally decided to buy the car. Stephen had the paperwork filled out quickly without the standard high pressure warranty/sales pitch in the finance office. When we were filling out the paperwork we noticed that the suscription for Volvo On-call was only 6 - months. We had previously agreed to a 1 year subscription; Stephen simply opened his wallet and pulled out his personal credit card and extended the service to 1.5 years to ensure he delivered to the terms of the agreement. Just when I thought they couldnt do anything more to show their level of commitment to their customers, they did! Michael spent over an hour with me making sure I was comfortable with every detail of the car and the features it offered. From start to finish it was an A+ service. I never thought I would say this about a car dealership... I trust them. Thats pretty odd feeling to have when you finish buying a car, but now that they have my trust theyve also gained a new/future customer. Make this your first stop when youre ready to buy your next car and I promise you wont be disappointed.
I live in Seattle WA, but found Steingold Volvo on the swedespeed forums as a good place to purchase Volvo extended warranty and prepaid maintenance plans for my new XC90. I looked online for another source when I had a bad experience at my local Volvo dealership. I loved my sales guy but then got passed to an inexperienced warranty salesperson who tried to sell us an additional $13k of warranty and service plans. Say what? He also tried to pressure us by saying that the price would increase if we didnt buy it at the same time as the car. (While that is true, its totally misleading). We were so frustrated, we walked out of the sale that day. What a different experience I had talking with Mike Bernardo from Steingold Volvo. He immediately came across as a straight shooter. He was patient, transparent, and gave me a lot of confidence in doing business with him. No pressure and he was very honest about which options are worth the investment. We literally saved thousands of dollars choosing to purchase an 8yr/80k extended warranty, 5 service prepaid maintenance plan, and 60 mo. tire service plan through Steingold. It made we wish we lived in Rhode Island so that I could have purchased the car through them as well! Do yourself a favor: if you dont think youre getting a straight story from your dealer on these plans, call Steingold Volvo!! And if you are lucky enough to live in Rhode Island, I wouldnt go anywhere else to buy a Volvo.

Absolutely pleased! I would love to write a 5 pages long review but you will get bored, I cant said enough about this place! I will said it in one phrase : "its the kind of place you want to come back to" and bring y everyone you know. I was there about 2 years ago, sat down with Michael Bernardo explore options and when I said: " I want to think about it" I did not got the car sales man reply: "what do you mean? lets make this happen" "what can I do to close the deal?" instead it was more like: "of course no problem" , "well let me know when you are ready here is my Buss. card" that day I said that my next car was going to be from Steingold Volvo. two years later this guy not only remember me but it also remembers my name, I wanted to get a Volvo and I wanted a certain way, after I selected a car and ask for what I need it (wanted) Mike made it happens just the way I wanted! no buts, or extras, or hiding charges, I got a used car (that looks drives and feels like brand new)and they painted (yes painted) front, rear bumper, hood, etc, INCREDIBLE like a said before: MY NEXT CAR ITS COMING FROM STEINGOLD VOLVO THANKS STEINGOLD VOLVO! specially Michael Bernardo for a great car purchase experience!!
We just purchased an XC60 from Steingold. It was a completely different buying experience from our other new car purchases. It is a family owned dealership, so most of the employees are family members. When it came to price, we were able to directly negotiate with the salesman (a family member) and there was no going back between, salesman, manager, general manager, etc. It took all of 10 minutes to get the lowest price on the car (we had done tons of research before and new the bottom line price). In addition, their dealer fees were very minimal. There are times you negotiate the lowest price on a car and then the dealer hits you with 500 of doc fees. They do not do this. They did not try to upsell us on anything (e.g., extended warranty, clear coating, options we did not want, etc). By far, the easist new car buying experience we have ever had and we have purchased 6 new cars. Would highly recommend Steingold Volvo for ease of negotiation, knowledge of products and no hard sell. We walked in with the intent to not make the purchase that evening, but 30 minutes later we had purchased a car. You will not be disappointed.
