I would like to start by saying that I am ecstatic to be writing this review. I purchased a 2016 Fiat 500X Trekking from this dealership on 08/07/17. I was nervous since this was my very first vehicle purchase. I was also nervous because I had went to another dealership before speaking w/ Derrick Geer (my sales person at Bill Boruffs) and had a horrific experience. I explained to Derrick what I had been told by the other salesperson at the other dealership, and Derrick was kind enough to explain that I had been grossly lied to. He even went as far as to say, "I dont even care if you buy a car from us..just please dont go back to them." That was the main reason I DID go to see if I could get a car through Bill Boruff..because I was being treated like a -person- not just a customer. He could have easily tried to go into a sales pitch about why I needed to buy from them, etc. etc..but he didnt. I am absolutely beyond happy that I decided to get my vehicle through Bill Boruffs Dealership. The vehicle I wanted was at another one of their lots, so they went to the other lot and brought the car to their dealership for me. I was able to test drive the vehicle before the conversation of me buying the vehicle was ever even had. I was made to feel comfortable about asking all sorts of questions (trust me..I had many), and never once was made to feel like I was being a nuisance. The atmosphere was down to earth, and friendly. My salesperson, Derrick Geer, was honest, nice, knowledgeable, friendly, funny, not pushy, and he was super helpful. At this dealership, its not just hit or miss on whether youre going to get an amazing salesperson..because they ALL exhibit all of the qualities I mentioned above that Derick displayed. I firmly believe they try to be as transparent as they possibly can be about the entire car purchasing process. Wesley Mifflin, their desk manager is fantastic and worked really hard to get me into the payments I wanted and was really great about explaining my options to me in a very informative non-condescending helpful manner. The finance manger, Al Kingsbury, was wonderful to work with and also had no problems explaining things to me in a way that I could understand them..because let’s face it..as a first time car buyer, I didn’t really know much. The fact that I -didn’t- know much and they could have easily exploited that and yet they didn’t..speaks VOLUMES about the business and the character of the individuals that work there. I even want to give a shout out to their crew who detail their vehicles. My 2016 looked almost brand new on the inside! I’ve looked at other used cars at other dealerships before..and trust me, the interiors didn’t even come as close to looking as good as the cars at Bill Boruff’s do! Just wow! I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Bill Boruff, Jason Lewis. He greeted me with a smile, a hearty handshake, and was more than happy to talk to me. I wanted to thank him personally for having outstanding salespeople who treat their customers like family and make the environment feel so comfortable. His motto is, “We sell cars, not credit” and that is something they most certainly stood behind. Not ONCE did they ask me about my credit or credit score, they simply just worked with me, and provided me with options to help me get into the car that I wanted to be in. On top of all of the wonderful service I got while I was there, I also received in the mail a letter from them thanking me for my business and was given my first oil change and lube for FREE through them! Something they really didn’t have to do, but did. I could go on and on raving about this dealership, but I will end my review with this… If you are in the market for a new, or new to you vehicle..go to Bill Boruff, they will not steer you wrong!!

They sold me a Used Jeep that had gone through their "exhaustive, multi-point inspection". 1. Turns out that the winch on the front of the vehicle is broken. When I called about it two days after purchase, the dealership just said, "Sorry. They must have missed that in the inpection." That was it. They didnt offer to give me a working winch. 2. The factory swaybar-disconnect is also broken ($1000+ to repair and also one of the main selling features of the vehicle). I paid the retail price for the vehicle. 3. They gave me only one key for the Jeep (no spare). When I went to get another key at ACE hardware, they said that only the dealer could make the keys for late model Jeeps. Called the salesman and even though I had bought a Jeep at a premium, they wouldnt give me another key and said it would be $280 if I wanted an extra key. 4. They didnt fill up the vehicle with gas before I drove it off the lot. What kind of dealership doesnt fill up the gas tank. 5. The Jeep is difficult to fill up with Gas because it overflows because the gas tank has a design flaw. There is a recall for this issue and any Jeep passed through any dealership that inspected the vehicle would be aware of the recall. 6. The worst part is that exactly three weeks into owning the vehicle, one of the wheels had become so loose that it nearly flew off driving down the highway. The Jeep was shaking terribly on turns, so thinking it was a U-joint going out, I pulled over to a mechanic. He said that the lug nuts had come loose on one wheel because they hadnt been properly torqued. Also, each tire was down 5-7psi in air pressure from the factory recommendation. Some inspection. 7. My title work has not been completed yet, so I cannot get a license plate for my Jeep. This wouldnt normally be a big deal except for the fact that the dealership gave me a 30 day temporary plate that expires in two days. I called to ask about when I could expect the title work to be completed and they told me that they legally had 30 days to send the title work to the state (meaning they were going to wait till the last possible moment to send it). I guess that means that means I will have a vehicle that cannot be legally driven for a few days while I wait for the state to receive the paperwork in the mail from Bill Bofuff SuperCenter. If I had bought an old beater for a couple thousand dollars I might not complain, but I spent $24,000+ on a pre-owned 4 Door Wrangler that had quite a bit of issues as it sat on the lot. I understand that the vehicle was sold without a warranty, but I also think that being assured that everything on the vehicle worked fine because the vehicle passed their multi-point inspection is extremely deceptive if no such inspection actually took place.

Its been a while since I have had a really great dealer experience, and Ive bought a lot of cars over the last 20 years. Bill Boruff CDJR I think falls into that great category. Right off, Im not local to them (east coast) so I wanted to do the whole deal on emails and photos - just better for record keeping as phone calls can yield a whole lot of "but you said..." - and they rolled with it. I worked with Jason Fox and Burke Stephens over email, and we came up with an acceptable deal, based only on photos and good faith; I took a road trip out there this past weekend to make the deal, and it all went quite smoothly. Burke was indisposed when I arrived, so the in-person dealings were with Steve Parsons. Everyone at the dealership was very nice and accommodating, even having no problem with the fact that we had to bring a small dog with us due to the logistics of the trip! Now, since it was a trade+cash deal, I didnt spend more than a few minutes in the finance office just to sign the papers, so I cant speak to any sales tactics for financing or extended warranties or anything like that. Full disclosure: I would give a score more like "4.75 stars" if I could; while not 100% perfection all the way around, the only things docking the score in my mind were really small things - like some information Id asked for about the car was slow to communicate and/or pictures didnt come through properly - and its definitely closer to 5 stars than 4. Thanks guys; people are astonished when I tell them this Magnum is 10 years old.
