I think this bookstore is hands down the best new/used bookstore in Salt Lake City - especially if you are an LDS Book Collector. Their collection is huge, and Bret Eborn goes out of his way to help you find what you are looking for. Service from the staff is great, selection is wide, store is clean, and the atmosphere is kind and friendly. The 254 S. Main St. location has definitely had an upgrade from Sam Weller’s to Eborn Books (and Sam Weller’s was great). I personally love the fact that in addition to carrying LDS books, Eborn also prints LDS books. His books are incredible since they almost always deal with doctrine. There is no “fluff” (please take notice Deseret Book). Again, excellent bookstore and a must visit if you are passing through Salt Lake City. SIDE NOTE: I have no clue what Audrey Rock is saying in her review. Judging by the time of her review, it looks like she must have gone to Eborn Books right when the store opened and Eborn Books was moving in. The time frame fits, so the obvious answer would be “of course”. When you’re moving, there is going to be a window of being disorganized. However, that period was very short and now that they are moved in, everything is organized and all is well! The store is clean and everything is great! Sorry, but Eborn Books WILL last a VERY LONG time at this location!

Good God!!! I realize this seemed like a natural transition, and I was glad to see Sam Wellers go to a book seller but....where is all the organization?? There IS NONE!!!! NONE!!! They might as well have stacked millions of toothpicks and expected you to find the one that has the pink tip thats facing TOWARD the wall. No alphabetization, nothing. Its a fools errand. And its missing that magic, that care, that cleanliness, the employees who cared deeply for their books. I SO miss Wellers in this location :( I predict Eborn wont last long here.

Excited Mommy! Loved going to such an amazing collection of used and New books! They had so much available in almost every subject, religion, etc! For the Whole Family! I Spent way too much time there and had a hard time leaving. I will not go into Salt Lake City without giving me enough time to go in again. I especially Loved the Hobbies and Collectibles section...My kids will be busy for Months:) Staff was awesome and very easy to find what i was looking for, thanks.

What a great place to visit. With all the bookstores dying, this place is flourishing. They have so much to choose from - more that any store around. It fun to just go explorer. For a collector that have a great selection and often hard to find books from locked cases to the vault. Bret Eborn is the most honest and fair book dealer around. For a book lover and collector, Im grateful Eborn is in this location.

A huge selection of secondhand books, extremely well priced, and all books are in great condition. It is my number one used-book store in the Salt Lake area. A word of caution: Most books are organised by author in alphabetical sections (I.e. A, B, C), but within each section the books are random. So if youre really looking for something specific, allow time for searching.

Huge mom and pop style bookstore, they have used and new materials. Even dated materials from the 1800s in a locked case. The employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. Ive been able to find some hard to find books here. The place is 3 very large stories and has a cute coffee garden that has some really nice herbal teas and breakfast pastries. Love this place!

This book store is so much fun. From the street it looks like a quaint little store, but if you go in and start exploring it keeps going and going. If you see more than one copy of a book you want, check the price in each of them, as there is often a considerable difference, and sometimes the better quality ones are even the cheaper ones.

I called Eborn books across the street from where I work and was helped immediately. I walked across the street and was in and out in 4 minutes. It took longer to walk across the street and back. All three books that I was looking for. Used. In amazing condition for under $30.00. Awesome experience!!!! I will return!!! K

Big independent bookstore; huge selection; mostly used but not all; LDS book collectors will be in paradise and other regular book enthusiasts of all kinds will love it also. Unlike a previous reviewers comments, there is superb organization; signs designating subjects everywhere. More books than you can shake a stick at.

There is nothing like Eborn Books in all of Utah, and few like it in the United States. Huge variety, great prices, and all in a book store that is easy to find. Right by the Gallivan Plaza Trax stop in downtown Salt Lake. The new location in downtown has three floors of books. Incredible.

This store is one the biggest and best book stores in the entire U.S. They moved 4 smaller bookstores into this massive building, and it is amazing. It is very organized and the friendly staff are very helpful. They have every genre imaginable. Make sure you visit this historic store.

Great place! The workers were a little aloof, but Ive found that thats usually the best way to navigate a bookstore like that. It was SO fun exploring, and Ive been itching to go back so I could buy actual books! 10/10, planning on being a long-time customer.

Great place to find super cheap hard cover books! They have a massive inventory, you could look at books in here for days. Also we love the "Ugly Room", its really funny, though the travel section shouldnt be in there.

Really great collection of Utah specific literature. This place has a pretty large selection and even some rare books and first additions of various kinds on display behind glass for anything from $50-$500.

Best source for used/out of print books including L.D.S. related hard to find items. Great selection of authors and titles. Id call first to see how busy it is. Does have an in-house café.

I found a hard back of Carl Sagans Billions & Billions. It got me a bit misty in the middle of a bookstore. I think thats worth 5-stars.
