When it comes to dealerships or aka "stealerships" I been to quite a few in my life so far and I understand how salesmen play their games on potential customers. The initial visit was standard as usual, they greet and make you feel important. Here is when things started to go South with my experience, the second I started to speak with the salesman every time he opened his mouth it was either a lie or insulting my intelligence. As a customer you dont want to hear the first thing out of the salesmans mouth, "we are so busy here its so hard to keep our cars on the lot b/c they are selling so fast." Word of advise Hudson Subaru, this gives the message to the customers you are unwilling to make negotiations with the customers b/c indirectly you are telling them, even without your business we are still doing fine and someone else will come along to pay more than you are offering. Going on to the next, every opportunity this guy had he will use the phrase, "you can trust me on this" or "believe me", if you were a stranger and you just met someone literally 30 minutes ago would you trust this person? Especially when it comes down to numbers game? That is a tell tell sign and a dead give away you are scheming, obvious enough? Ive done my research on the car prior to visiting the dealer, msrp on the car was approximately $39,999.00, now I understand each dealership has their own rates and added value to the same vehicles so the cost from each location has a difference. Hudson Subaru Stealership has their vehicle listed as $47,999+, so I ask the salesman, what is going on with the price of this vehicle? He explains to be that this Hudson Subaru adds $5,000 (this isnt any fees, it is literally a scam) on top of the msrp price and every dealer does this, even went as far as to say he knew other dealers place up to $9,000 on top... Really??? Do you think the average customer will believe that gibberish? So basically, they add additional amount as a "fluff" so by the time you try to negotiate the price with this dealer, you are still paying exact or little more than msrp price of the car. Regarding the above, I did my research into this and contacted every other Subaru dealership in NY, NJ, PA and guess what? None of them understood what I was speaking of and said they do not do this type of practice, in fact every dealership I have contacted for the same exact model quoted me for $38,999~$41,000 range. As if this wasnt bad enough theres more, I brought in my well maintained trade in with receipts to show as a potential trade in. The car through KBB value (I understand this isnt the value book most dealers go by) at this moment is worth 9k~10k as a trade in and private sale is 11k~12k. The salesman comes back to me after checking my vehicle and tells me he is going to offer $5,500... His reasoning behind this is b/c he cannot sell a luxury car with high miles so they will need to sell it to the auction house. This is a complete lie, dealers will bring cars to the auction house when the vehicle does not sell for a period of time, no one brings a car straight to the auction house after accepting a trade in. The vehicle I happen to own is actually a rare combination and in demand, especially since it has 0 mechanical issues. So now, the salesman challenges me and asks, "would you buy a used car with high miles and no warranty?" I told him I would if there are records to back up the condition of the car and that is the only thing I can afford. If there is no records I would ask the salesman to bring the car to the official service center to get a check up on my expense to make sure the car is mechanically sound. Who buys warranty for a $10,000 car anyways? Guess what the salesmans response was? "You are crazy man, why would you do that?" Mind you, they have a beat up 90s Outback sitting their showroom with over 150k+ miles for sale at 12k, I guess they can sell a 90s car but not a well maintained fully loaded 2006 BMW?

How fortunate my husband and I were to have Chito Encarnacion as our salesman at Hudson Subaru. We already had a 2012 Forester and were looking to purchase a second Forester. In the five years we owned our Forester (which we loved from the first drive) a lot of new technology has become available. Being older we were very interested in "EyeSight" plus I had to have my heated seats. Chito knew right away that he had a Forester in the lot with all the features we wanted. He brought it close to the showroom door as it was 96 degrees outside (I kid you not). We jumped in the partially cooled car and he started explaining some of the features to us. We took a test drive - It was truly amazing how much had changed since our last purchase. I have never met a car salesman who knew so much about the cars features as Chito did. And, Chito expertly explained them to us. Back in the showroom we went - to discuss THE PRICE. I am a very hard person to deal with when it comes to spending large amounts of money but Chito kept his cool and lets just say I was very animated at times. My husband and I always make it a point to meet with the sales manager before finalizing purchase and Gary Bregman was very charming and humorous while being very serious about the financial part of the buying process. Finally a price was agreed on and we left a deposit. . We could have taken the car that day but I didnt have the stamina to stay any longer. Next day we arrived back at the showroom and just about everything else (insurance, registration info etc) was taken care of by Chito. He went through the checklist on his computer with us (including a 2 minute video) and once again Chito took us outside (100 degrees and Im really not kidding) to meet our new very shiny blue Forester. Chito answered all our questions and re- explained a few things we didnt remember from the day before. He set up my bluetooth phone and that was a big deal for me. We decided to take advantage of the 0% interest rate so our next stop was the finance office where Ruddy Balbi took care of us. What an incredible finance officer he is - I have never seen a person so fast and so accurate. He shuffled the paper work as though he had six hands. We were in - we were out - my husband was driving home our new Forester and I was driving the other Forester. We love our new 2017 blue Forester and we still love our 2012 Forester. If you want to buy a fantastic SUV with all the best safety features and get lots of help learning about your new Subaru go to Hudson Subaru and maybe you will be lucky enough to get Chito Encarnacion as your salesman.

Dont buy a car here! Worst customer service EVER! First I was baited and switched on the price of the car in that I was told that the price Id seen advertised was a "loyalty discount" for people who had purchased from Hudson Subaru in the past. Although there was a disclaimer about the loyalty discount on a different Internet listing that the salesman showed me, on the site I used, there was no disclaimer. I figured that it was still an okay price even if it wasnt a GREAT price, and I really needed the car, so I bought it anyway. I drove it for eight days, after which the battery died. I called to complain and was told to take the car to a local mechanic and find out whether the battery needed replacement or whether it simply needed a good charge. When it turned out that the battery needed to be replaced, I was told to pay for the replacement battery and fax the receipt to the salesman Id worked with, and I would be reimbursed. I paid approximately $245 for the replacement battery and sent the receipts as instructed. I did not get a reply in email or a return phone call despite many attempts. After several weeks of that, I spoke to customer service and explained the situation. Customer service apologised profusely, and told me to forward the receipts to them and it would be taken care of. So I did, and once again, I was ignored, unable to get a reply by phone or email. Finally, I gave up and took the further loss, which Im sure is what Hudson Subaru was counting on. Between the bait-and-switch, and the bad faith with which I was dealt after the sale, I find it extremely hard to believe that anyone ever takes this place up on their "loyalty discount." Ive never felt so disrespected by anyone I gave so much of my money to. STAY AWAY!
