Hooks and Hangers II is honestly a really nice place to shop. Im one of the employees that work there and there is nothing wrong with it. Im going to make some corrections to the lady who posted a review that was pretty much false. Some of the prices at Hooks and Hangers is expensive but most of the customers buy the product anyway. Our VHS tapes that we have arent expensive and they dont range from $1.00 - $10.00. Our adult movies are $2.00 and the children tapes are $1.00. Our exercise tapes however, are $1.00 not $3.00. The toy section is not junked up. In fact, we clean the toy section out alot of the time that way we can clean all the pieces that the kids have taken out and just thrown at the bottom. Since the law has passed we dont really sell that many stuffed animals because of the small, beady eyes. Little kids can easily bite the eyes off and we dont want that. Our auction that we have every year is posted at least a month in advance for the customers to see and then they can choose if they want to go to it. We however do use black magic marker because it will appear on things and the customers will be able to find the price more easier. The black magic marker does come off 99.9 % of the time. You can use windex, eraser, or even rubbing alochol to get the black marker off the item you have purchased. The thrift store that the Spring Dell Center has in Waldorf is cheaper but thats because they arent as big as the one in Charlotte Hall and because they dont get that much stuff in. Most of the shelves and clothing racks that are in the thrift store are full of items to purchase from and they are not chipped, or broken. We check the items very closely before the employees even put them out. If the employees do put out something that is broken, and the customer brings it to their attention they say sorry and thank you for looking at it more closely then they did. Everyone who works at Hooks and Hangers II in Charlotte Hall are very friendly and they welcome you. They greet you right when you walk through the door and when you come to the register to purchase your items. I highly recommend this thrift store and i think Donna Retzlaff is doing a very good job at it along with the employees that work there. Everything is clean and you will never find it dirty. :)

Hooks & Hangers II thrift store prices on items are VERY HIGH compared to other thrift stores. Items donated to the store are sifted through and then are put into an auction that is held 2 or 3 times a year which this is not posted in the store. The store is usually empty shelves, what items that are on shelves are usually broken, chipped, so please check your items closely. Used VHS tapes are usually priced anywhere from $1.00 to $10.00, exercise tapes are usually $3.00 & Up. very high for a thrift store on used VHS. The toy section is usually so junked up that it is very hard to sift through. They use a black marker to price things usually right on the item, they mark stuff animals high, most thrift stores sell them $.50-$1.00. They sell them $3.00 -$6.00 or higher. They also mark stuffies on the tush tags in a black magic marker. Books are resonable priced for the most part, but shelves look empty most of time. IF you are looking for costume jewlery - dont look here, it looks like jewelry is being taken and placed in their auctions. USED CDs are $3.00, They have another store in Waldorf, much better, prices are not as HIGH as the one in Charlotte Hall. This store needs someone to get in there and clean up that store. WHen this store opened it up it was a nice place to shop but this last year it has went down hill. I do not receommend this store.

I dont agree with some opinions on the review page but also i could care less about vhs tapes. I go looking for furniture, video games, card games, and other random things i may find. Also my wife buys lots of clothes and kitchen things here. Whenever I go theres lots of stuff i dont like but that is a thrift store its not a consignment shop. Some things are incomplete but if they arent familiar with the item i usually tell them hey this is supposed to have this etc. But I have found good games and furniture there. I go 2-4 times a month and everytime i go their book shelves are full to the brim. And if anybody is looking for old vinyl records this is the place to go. they have tons.

Where was this photo taken? It is not anywhere in Charlotte Hall. Auction? Whoever wrote the Nov 12 2009 review needs to finish second grade prior to posting online. If my 8 year old wrote that poor of a sentence in a school paper she would get an F. Definitely written by someone working in the store who is afraid of getting fired for how the store looks. The store looks like a sanitized version of HoboLand. Quality resale store is the listing? Quality? Hahaha Ive seen better quality fall out of a trash truck.

Easy location to find, they try and keep everything in the right places which is hard to do when youre working with a little bit of everything from so many different brands and companies. Their prices are great compared to how expensive they can be for the items you purchase. The staff is always very helpful and attentive.

Great selection. Some things are a little overpriced but they almost always have specials. My favorite is the brown bag sales usually once a year, as many clothes as you can fit in a brown grocery bag for ten dollars !! (We fold them as small as possible!!)

This thrift store has a large variety of good, usable items available for sale. The staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable but not incredibly so. They accept donations of undamaged goods. Check with the cashier upon arrival or call ahead.

They wouldnt let me use the restroom so I had to leave instead of shop. However, on the way out I noticed they had a great deal on generic mouth wash that probably isnt even worthy to be on the shelves of dollar stores.

Love the selection and price here. I always end up finding something. Definitely takes some time to sort through the stuff, but so does any thrift store. Staff is always very friendly and helpful.
