If I could do zero stars, I would!!! I just moved to the Olney area, and have been to this thrift store about three times now. The staff in this place, which happen to be a bunch of elderly white women, are EXTREMELY rude and just down right nasty! I am African American, and each and every time I walk in there, they immediately look at me as if I shouldnt be there. And they have watched me as I walk around the store, as if I am going to steal something (very racist if you ask me). But I have watched them cater to people of other ethnicities and treat them nicely. I have been shopping at thrift stores for over 20 years now, and have been to many in various areas throughout the DMV, and I must say this one definitely tops my list of very least favorite. Whoever in in charge of this place needs to have a serious sit down with the staff to teach them basic courtesy and proper customer service. They are a bunch of old, white bitter women who shouldnt be dealing with the public. I think I will just stop patronizing them and find places where they actually know how to treat people with basic courtesy and respect! They should be ashamed of themselves!!!

An OK thrift shop in Olney, the Thrift Shop of Montgomery General hospital is in a small older home right in front of hospital grounds. There is plenty of parking, and the prices seem ok, but the selection is not the best. It looks like most items are donated by female senior citizens, who also seem to the volunteer staff working at the store (who, mostly, seem to be nice to deal with.) Also have lots of paperback books. If you find anything you like on the second floor, you have to get it placed in a stapled bag with a receipt--I guess so no one steals anything??? That part is very puzzling. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

The prices are decent and the service is... well, nice enough. The place is cute but the selection sucks. I rarely find anything worth buying
