I have NEVER been to a Barnes and Noble in all the years, and the literally thousands of dollars Ive spent, where looking at, and searching for books that I couldnt wait to find, became a beyond loud and broken experience, to the point of almost making me mad. I had $150.00 + of books in my hands, but I couldnt relax and think to find the other 2 that I had researched and that I so desired to take home. The presumed manager gentleman was louder and more boisterous than most, but the others were playing into it equally. At 3 minutes to 9, the manager yelled across the entire store and asked, do you think you can give the intercom announcement to close to the front counter person. She stated that she could when she finished chewing her food. I and others were putting books back as the 3 minutes became none, then the manager made a loud announcement over the same intercom, that they were closed. I have spent 3 days perusing the internet for my book choices prior to coming in. Im truly saddened as this has ALWAYS been an event Ive looked forward to. I have a library of 1200+ books, most purchased from Barnes and Noble in West Bountiful Utah, or in Sandy Utah. Can B&N really remain a good option for so many? Or are they going there way of the others? I guess I can go to the internet where I would have saved $40.00 or more, over doing what " I Love " by going into the store and relaxing in a quiet and relaxed setting Ive grown to love and appreciate. Its been a half hour since I walked out, and I couldnt wait to share this with B&N as my smart phone already asked about my experience. What now B&N? Is this a future waste of time for me/us? Please Advise................?

This store has the absolute worst customer service ive ever experienced. Not only a Barns and Noble but at any book store ever. Today we were treated very poorly in the store, to the point of walking out. So tonight i called the store asking why a book set was half the price on the barns and noble website as it is in the store and the response i got was "Since the beginning of the internet we have never matched prices of anything online, even our website, and never will." So my response was "for the rest of the existence of the internet, Barns and Noble will have one less customer." I will never purchase another item from a Barns and Noble store again because of this response. I understand the pressures internet sales add to retail stores but customer service earns business, and this company misses the mark. So much could have been done differently to solidify a customer despite prices or price differences.

Good selection of books and have always been helpful finding what I am looking for.my complaint is that they keep magazines with provocative covers on front of the check out desk at eye level of young children. Ive seen children who could not take their eyes off of the pictures. Very disturbing choice for a community where most residents support family values and where grocers and other retailers honor community values by placing covers over those magazines.

Didnt enjoy my experience here today! Three people at the front counter. Asked one if someone could look up a couple books for me. Was told rather curtly, without even looking up, I had to wait in the check out line to ask because there wasnt anyone on the floor. After several minutes, finally found out about the books. Had to find them then wait a long time in the check out line again for the one cashier!

I never write bad reviews, but someone please explain to my why this store would not price match their OWN website! I get not price matching other stores or Amazon, but when your own website has the same exact book online 40% off with free shipping it makes no sense. Im already in the store so how about you save yourself the cost of shipping it to me and let me have the sale price?

The worst B&N Ive ever been at. I easily can spend hours looking and reading books while relaxing with a cup of tea....this one doesnt have a cafe or a relaxing atmosphere. I always feel rushed and the customer service is pathetic. Now I go to either Gateway Mall or Murray B&Ns. I wouldnt be surprised if this one here in Bountiful closes down in the near future.

Amazing place for books! Very large store, carry about everything you could ask for! But the staff is so rude. Went in after calling prior and when I asked the staff if they held my books, a gentleman sounded so put out about it. I have never felt so uneasy and mistreated! Get some nicer staff in there!!!!

Good selection of books for the size of the store. Whoever picks their overhead music should be fired, though. Its loud, obnoxious and so distracting I couldnt read a book enough to decide if I wanted it. I probably will take my business to another bookstore that doesnt resemble a daytime rave.

Customer service was terrible. I know retail is hard work, but these clerks clearly do not care. I can spend $ on books else where. Every year I remind myself why I do not spend money. They do not care about you and they make sure you know it.

My cashier was named Jess. She was very rude and disrespectful. The guy that was there wasnt helpful when I asked him where to find the book I wanted. He just point in a direction and said over there. Horrible service. Ill never go back.

bn has a relaxing environment that helps me want to buy more books. the store has a great layout making it easy to find products. I dont like the feeling of needing to have a membership to get their best pricing.

Great selection of books and other items. Prices a little high, but otherwise nice. They even have areas to read and check out books before you buy them. I cant wait to go back and browse again.
