PRODUCT WARNING! This review is for the following products sold at PetSmart: • FLEXI RETRACTABLE DOG LEASH - Contains BPA • ARM AND HAMMER DOG TOOTHPASTE - Made in China • MARTHA STEWART DOG TOYS - Possibly contains hazardous materials I purchased several new Martha Steward dog toys late 2016. within a few months I noticed a peculiar odor coming from all of them when I smelled them up close. The odor was similar to the smell of old cardboard. I called to ask questions about the materials used in the toys and was informed that PetSmart no longer carried them. PetSmart allowed me to return the toys for store credit. Given my sense of alarm over the issue with the Martha Stewart toys, I searched high and low for products that were safe for my dog. I could not find anything! Even the Arm and Hammer dog toothpaste did not appear safe as it read, "made in china" in small print on the back. I ended up purchasing a new Flexi retractable leash with a couple accessories. I was very pleased with the intuitive design of the product and pretty excited to use it, that is until I took a second look at the fine print on the back of the packaging. It turns out, Flexi retractable leashes are literally toxic to touch, as they contain Bisphenol A (BPA). There is controversy surrounding the presence of BPA in plastics used for food and handling, but according to various sources, even touching materials containing BPA is considered toxic. I take my dog on three to four walks a day; thats three to four times per day of up to thirty minutes each walk of gripping a toxic plastic handle of a very popular and supposedly trusted brand dog leash. Flexis website reads as follows: "...Each model is assembled by hand and undergoes various quality checks before your tail-wagger actually gets to use it. The reward: uncompromising standards of perfection that will satisfy the needs of even the most energetic dog."

I purchased a 37 lb bag of Pro Plan Sport dog food last night. Upon opening it this morning, I discovered it was infested with bugs, including that moldy webbing inside and out, indicating a severe infestation. After driving 30 minutes back to the store, and checking the aisle from which the bag came (along with a man claiming to be the manager) we saw that every bag we checked was similarly infested. So I chose another dog food brand in a separate aisle that looked cleaner. They admitted to having a problem recently and having removed a couple of bags but clearly did not properly check their stock. I thought the least they could do was to refund my $$ and give me a $35 bag of dog food for my trouble. They refused, saying they couldnt do that. A HUGE company like Petsmart should have better quality control and customer service. From now on, I will buy my dog food at Costco. They have quality products and great customer service.

Some of the people working there are great at giving tips and advice especially about dog allergies and food, etc. Thats why the 3*s and not 1. The aquatics part is not the best when you see lots of dead fish in some of the tanks. Theyve improved though so thats good. Theres one thing that is for CORPORATE: DO NOT MAKE YOUR PEOPLE ANSWER PHONES WHILE THEY ARE ON THE FLOOR TRYING TO SERVE CUSTOMERS. I happened every single time I went there. I mean, Im the one already in the store willing to spend money and not someone who just calls to ask to find out what time they close etc. Disrespectful. Still its one of the closest larger store around with a good selection of products.

The cat groomer is very disrespectful and left pinch/poke marks all over his little neck. My cat isnt the same anymore, very traumatized. She was very unwilling to finish her job. Her argument was that my cat was not happy about his bath and that I should have told her this. Smh. When are cats happy about a bath????! Over all her defensive attitude and lack of communication was the worst thing of her. All she had to do is be honest about her uncomfortability with my distressed cat; I would have understood however, she stayed with her pointing finger argument. The next day I bathed my cat at home with no problem. She is the problem not my cat.

Groomers ALWAYS CUT MY DOG. Last time I am going back! She has gotten fleas also everything she has left their grooming department. Do not take your dog here! The best part is they send you a grooming coupon right after your grooming visit but the coupon expires within a month why would I bring my dog back to the groomers within a month of being groomed? They have very limited inventory of products including doggy shampoos they only carry the stuff thats horrible for dogs with allergies just stay away from Pet Smart.

I have taken my dog here before, unfortunately I would not recommend this a place for grooming for your dog. The groomers themselves had very poor customer service, and did not take into account my instruction for how I like my dogs hair to be cut. Rather my little one was returned looking completely hairless. I still go to Petsmart for necessities and food, but I will not ever being using their grooming services. If the groomer doesn’t appear to be put together do not trust them with you pet, thats my only advice.

It is extremely hard to survive as a big box retailer in Los Angeles. Leases are high and sales trend down. Support your local business! I had a good experience in this store. The cashier was talkative and friendly. Opened up a secondary register as soon as the line started to build. Very nice, big, new building replacing the book store that was there. PS. I teach retail customer service, training, and selling for a living.

Checked in at 5 for a 5:30 appointment with the vet. Didnt get called for appointment until 6:10, only after asking what was going on. They said they had just switched to a new computer system and didnt even know I was there, despite the fact that I was sitting right by the desk the whole time. The vet didnt seem to know how to give an injection and had to try five times, repeatedly poking my animal, before he was successful.

This establisment is one of my least favorite yes i do love petsmart cuz they donate to shelters but this location 3 times already i have gone to buy some treats and never is someone at the register and wait and wait and then someone ask do you need any help noo i am just here cuz i have no time to waste. I called customer service and it seem that nothing is being done. I do love petsmart on pico blvd and la brea

My dog, April, and I love Petsmart, and especially Doggie Day Camp. Since she is my only dog, I appreciate giving her the opportunity to play with other dogs on a regular basis. I feel very comfortable leaving her there, knowing she is in good, caring hands. She has made many friends, both four-legged and two-legged, over the months she has gone there. Im so happy to have them in my neighborhood!

Outstanding service. The veterinary office are friendly and professional. Answered all my questions and concerns. The groomers are also outstanding, they always do a great job with our great dane and yorkies. We always get a report of recommendation and onn how our dogs did while they were there. The staff at the store are always helpful. Plus their is plenty of parking.
