Ive had one and then another Standard Poodle groomed at the Mishawaka Petsmart dating back to the very year 2000s and have always been happy not only with the grooming do but also with the way they treat my dogs. Standard Poodles need to be groomed more often than most dogs so Ive used the groomers there many times. If someone is concerned about how their dog is handled, they can stand outside the grooming room and watch thru windows. I stand back behind something so that my dog doesnt see me and gets excited and jumps around thinking its time to go home. Have NEVER seen any groomer mistreat my dog or any of the many other dogs for more than 10 years. And sometimes they have to deal patiently with dogs that hate to be groomed and even try to bite the groomers. If someone has a dog that may try to bite anyone cutting their nails or grooming them, they could take the dog to a vet who is trained and experienced in handling hostile dogs. Its not fair to ask a dog groomer to cut your dogs nails or coat if its likely it will react poorly to a stranger doing that. My favorite groomer was bitten badly in her hand by a dog and missed weeks and weeks of work. Fortunately shes back and my dog loves her! Im sorry that someones dog died after being there, but that breed may not be the best to take to a grooming salon because of the breathing problems they often have. When in doubt, call your vet for advice. My last dogs breeder warned me about a few groomers who work out of their homes in this area and made me promise never to take my dog to them. I think a groomer working with other groomers and with customers coming and going and often standing at their counter will treat the dogs better than someone working alone with no supervision or peers seeing her.

I love coming here for a great deal on aquariums and things for it. However, last time I went there with a friend to get a snail(4-20-17) The lady that helped us gave us false information, and I wanted to make sure she doesnt tell someone who doesnt know better. First, she told us that all snails are asexual even when I was sure that there was a kind that wasnt. Sure enough found out when I got home that nerite snails arent asexual and that would have been a better option for her. Then, she told my friend that if the baby snails are a problem, to just release them into a nearby pond. I stepped in to say that is not a good idea since they could damage the ecosystem by starting a invasive snail population, and she started to argue how it doesnt matter and one snail wouldnt make a difference. One snail can turn into hundreds, and I dont think she should be spreading that information or arguing with people on topics she clearly knows nothing about. Also, a lot of the snails and shrimp in the tank looked sickly or dead

After paying for both puppy school and their grooming services I have to say, Im unbelievable underwhelmed by their ability to do not much of anything. I have used other groomers before with wonderful results and never had a report of bad behavior before. They blamed my dog for not being able to cut her hair or paws. She is a 12 pound cockapoo who has been well behaved for other groomers before. After bringing her home she was terrified and would not come to anyone for the rest of the night. As far as the training classes go, save your money!!! They completely wasted our time and money. For better training please feel free to google yourself a better method. They offered such limited information and honestly we learned more from YouTube than pet smart. PetSmart? More like PetStupid. I would run away quick before they charge you a couple hundred and return nothing but terrible, inexperienced service. The least caring staff I have ever delt with.

Terrible. Got my dog home from grooming at petsmart a few hours ago and noticed some shampoo or conditioner still sticking to the lower part of the inside of his ear. As I tried to part the matted fur to clean it out, the fur starting coming out in small clumps. The skin on that ear is all red and inflamed and the fur easily comes out if, along with dry skin, if you pull on it. Obviously, this doesnt feel good to my dog and he acts like it hurts when I touch the inflamed area. Hes never had anything like this happen before. Apparently whatever they use to clean the dogs is very harsh and they didnt rinse properly. The store is closed now but Ill be taking him in in the morning to hopefully have him examined by their vet.

Weve never had an issue, love the pet perks though. They matched an online price and it saved us a good amount, so good for them for honoring that. That being said, I see these reviews about dogs being harmed or coming home terrified of the groomers, so Im apprehensive to take my pup in for those services. I dont want to believe that certain people would harm an animal on purpose but after seeing the Bubba story, I dont think I need to be taking that chance. The selection and employees though have been great thus far. Keep it up!

This store is a piece of crap! A nice couple brought their cute bulldog to get his nails clipped. Then those idiots at Petsmart killed the dog by trying to hold him down and chocked him on his own vomit! Poor little dog to respect the dog please dont go their go to a place like Petco or even Walmart will take more care of their dogs me and the couple who owned the dog will really appreciate it if you dont shop at this miserable excuse for a pet store.

I have brought my dog George there previously and had no issue but yesterday the groomer cut my dogs excuse the crudeness butthole and no one said anything. When I called all the said well that groomer isnt here we can have her call you back and still nothing. Need to find a new groomer one that will tell you if there is an issue. Now I have to take care of butt hurt dog. Thanks you for nothing and your over priced services

Grooming I took my dog to the groomer. They nicked my dog right under her eye!!! I noticed that she was shaved closer in places around her eye and asked if she was nicked. They said no! When I got her home I noticed that the skin was red and they had shaved off a little bit of her skin. It is incredibly poor that they hurt my dog and didnt even tell me when I asked. I will never use their services again. Be warned.

Nice place but need to have people who actually know about animals specially reptiles since thats only reason i go there Id never buy reptile from big chain pet store they dont seem to take good care of em and they just try to sell u over priced stuff u dont need. Could use some work to take better care of animals and get people who actually know about reptiles. Gave 3 stars to be nice
