After being open for a few months now I would expect things to be five star worthy but, to me they are not. Here are some of my concerns and observations. The hot food bar leaves alot to be desired as there is a lack of consistency. The presentation and preparation along with the flavor, leave alot to be desired. In no way does it compare to Harrison. Yesterday, the majority of the items looked as if they had been out for six hours and it was 5:00 PM. The Sausage and Peppers was dry, no fluid in the pan and everything was dry. The Grilled Tuna looked days old. I actually need up buying grapes only and then going to Harrison for excellent Chicken Parmigiana. In addition, the Sushi offerings are okay but the individual pieces are thinner and smaller than what is offered in Harrison. I am also surprised that being a larger store than Harrison, they do not offer the same food and grocery items, pluss more. When checking out I should not have to ask that the hot food be placed in a separate bag than say the milk. And to put Chocolate Seven Layer Cake on top of hot food is unacceptable. I became familiar with DeCicco in Harrison and even watched some of the Larchmont staff get trained before opening. I have to say that there is a clear lack of training and supervision/oversight in Larchmont. Walking past the Manager or Assistant Manager and not getting any eye contact or greeting is not the type of environment I wish to shop in and this lack of hospitality seems to have trickled down to 3 out of 5 employees on the floor. Based on many visits and consistent experiences, I will continue to shop in Harrison and have a pleasant experience and quality food on the Hot Bar. As a Larchmont resident, I had high expectations that the Larchmont DeCiccos would become my "new" store but sadly, this is not the case. Unless there are significant changes to food preparation and presentation and a proper training of employees, Larchmont will be my oops I forgot something store. To me, the experience between Harrison and Larchmont is like dawn and dusk.

Im really trying to like this place, but Im finding it a little difficult. Was there today and I purchased two tuna steaks. I kinda sense they werent top quality by looking at them but thought I can give it a shot. Took them home and seared them. They were not edible. Not the first time. I just wish they would try harder with specialty foods. And there meats are OK at best. They really need to pick up there quality.
