My family and I have been loyal customers of Rigels for forty years. So it is sad for me to have to write this . . . I was charged $105.95 for a service call in which the technician did nothing. He was maybe in my house for five minutes at most. I turned my machine on to show him the alert that was coming up, and instead of the alert, the machine turned on! It worked. He said that the drain must have unclogged itself over the days of no use and left. When I received a bill in the mail two weeks later, I was shocked. I would think that they would have better customer service than that. We have bought six appliances from Rigels in the last 6 years alone, and have suggested that others go with them for their appliances as well, and this is what we get? Im just really sad that they dont have the forethought that its the little things like this that are what make a person stay loyal. We will now be going to where ever has the best deal on appliances, including big box stores. I was hoping that a small family owned company would be more caring about their customers.
I had Rigels come out to repair our washer. The repairman mixed up the days and didnt come the day I scheduled it. Not a huge deal, mistakes happen. He came the next day and turned our washer on and watched it run. He told us he didnt see anything wrong then and said to call if the problem continued. Of course the problem would continue because he didnt fix anything. A few days later I got a bill for $119. I called to ask why I was billed when the repairman didnt fix the problem we described to him. They said thats what it cost and if you get your car fixed thats what it costs. For one, Im confused why were comparing my car to my washer and dryer and for two, if I take my car in to get fixed they dont send me away after looking at it and say "heres your car back, we couldnt figure anything out, but heres a $119 bill." I wont be buying from Rigels again. The guy I talked to on the phone was beyond insulted and rude.
I dont know the names of the two gentlemen who delivered our new refrigerator yesterday, and they didnt talk a lot, but my wife and I were genuinely impressed with their service. It was obvious that they had performed this task many times before and had a routine that was efficient and detailed. Floor coverings, furniture moved and returned to original locations - I was even instructed how to hold the screen door open to prevent being pinched as the old and new units were moved out and in. When I suggested paying for the refrigerator - I was told that I could and should wait as they had discovered a tiny scratch on one of the doors (that we had not noticed) and could pay when they delivered a new door to replace the one that had been damaged. Very professionally done - and reinforced our decision to purchase from your store. Thank you!
Bad service. Couldnt repair my dishwasher on two visits. Ended up fixing myself...but paid them $300 in the process. So what did I pay for? Im not repair savvy either. Just had enough of them not being able to fix the problem and found a simple solution on Google. Before paying the final bill, I wrote an e-mail to the owner/president explaining the issue and asked them to reduce my bill. He would not respond. Rigels has been in business for 70 years. Thats typically a good thing. But some companies in business that long forget that the customer got them there. Its sad they couldnt repair my dishwasher. But whats more sad is they wouldnt even acknowledge my problem with it. I wasnt even worth a quick e-mail back. The only time they contacted me was to remind me to pay my bill. That says it all.
Bought a new washer and drier on black Friday for delivery following Friday had taken day off for delivery Wednesday received a call asking if we would take a different model that was better, looked it up it was discontinued model I said no well take the one we ordered since salesman could never tell my why it was better. So two weeks later they delivered us a set it was the discontinued model! The next week they said they would bring the right ones they did the switch delivery guys seemed like they thought I was the one who screwed up they did not lay cardboard down for the switch with snow on ground house gets messy. They may have been told that by salesman? So anyway 3 days off of work for us to get washer drier set. Have always bought from rigels in past not sure about future.
I have been researching stores because I am purchasing new appliances for our entire house. I heard to try Rigels because its a hometown business, I would be more apt to go in if I didnt get a run around on the prices online, having to request a quote by giving them all of your information-- irritates me, and really makes me not want to visit the store. After reading the reviews, I wont be going in if you have to pay a higher price for excellent service thats one thing, but paying a higher price and getting the experience past customers had.... No thanks.
Not impressed at all. Bought a new house with appliances from Rigels. Had problems with my gas stove not working and tried to call on 2 different occasions and was told a technician would call back and no one ever did. When I finally called a 3rd time and said I never heard back they finally sent a repairman out. Then sent me a $212 bill and when I questioned it they said I was too late because it was past my warranty. Horrible customer service! Have built 2 houses in 4 years and know where I WONT be going next time we need appliances for a new home.
We had them come out and check our 2007 refrigerator, it wasnt cooling. Not only did the technician accurately and quickly diagnose and repair the concern, he also noticed that the door didnt shut quite right and fixed that as well. My wife was VERY happy with the professionalism and courteousness of the technician and we would recommend Rigels to others because of this.
First time using them for in home service and it was an overall good experience. They worked with my schedule to come out and the service was really quick. Tom came out and gave me some pointers on some user maintenance to avoid bigger problems. Kind and professional. I would recommend them and will be going to them for my future needs.
The service counter is so accomodating! They were willing to drive extra distance to service an appliance for my grandmother who lives outside of their service area. I am so appreciative that there are still companies around like this who will go with extra mile- thank you, Rigel!
Serviceman was not careful or respectful during the service call. When I spoke with the "manager" of Rigels, he was incredibly rude, calling my concerns "silly." In the day of big box retailers, it amazes me that a business that operates like this can still survive.
