Will never step foot in petsmart crystal lake groomer again! Walked in after just picking up my puppy from the breeder and wanted to get him cleaned up. Was told he had flea dirt and they couldnt give him a bath. The groomer employee that greeted me started commenting on all my vet records and paperwork that I brought with me and told me that they probably didnt give him any of those vaccines and medicines that the vet had written down. She started giving "advice" on his health saying he was dehydrated, that he had an overbite, that his breath was not normal, was way younger than the breeder said he was and that the breeder was not a good breeder. The next day I took him to my vet and they said he is completely healthy. He does NOT have fleas, Is NOT dehydrated, his breath is NORMAL puppy breath, and he is the age that the breeder told me he is. So thank you to the groomer who scared me so much and ruined our first night with our new puppy. Your a groomer not a vet! Stop giving advice when you dont know what your talking about!

Questionable grooming practice. We have short hair boxer mix (Bruno), 5 1/2 years old, which has had baths in many other pet facilities, with no issues. Today we needed to get Bruno a bath done, and Petsmart was able to take him today. They said that they could take him at 12:30. Then upon arrival, we were told it would take 3-4 hours. Never heard of it taking this long before. Left shaking our heads and awaited their call received the call at a little after 4:00. Arrived and Bruno could not wait to get out. We didnt think this was unusual for being there so long. We drove home and discovered why he wanted to leave so badly. He apparently spent the 3 1/2 hours there not getting any water. He finished a an entire 1-1/2 quart bowl of water. But he smelled nice.

I may be a little biased because I work for the company at a different location, but my dog loves coming to the PetsHotel at this location. Normally he is a little leash aggressive when someone other then me handles him but he goes anywhere with the staff without me having to trick him into going in back with them. On top of that the PetsHotel employees are always happy to see my dog and always telling me that hes the most well behaved German Shepard that they have stay with them, they are also always willing to help my older family members take him out to their cars. I definitely recommend this location for any boarding experiences to my customers that ask.

Terrible experience in grooming multiple times many of them have attitudes and are rude to the animals when they should be nice n make them feel relaxed will never take my animal to the grooming people there again ever. As for the store employees I must say are polite and helpful. Its a shame that the grooming department can give such a bad image on the store employees that actually seem to enjoy there job. They just need to restaff n watch over a majority of there grooming department. I will and would not bring my animals there to bw handles by people that handle them roughly and talk bad to each other about the dogs in there.

The staff are so wonderful, the facility is very clean, and my dog always comes back exhausted (in a good way!) Ive watched the playgroups, and the attendant thats in there with the dogs engages them instead of just standing around. Theyll make special arrangements for diets-for example, my dog is an insanely picky eater, and they found a way to get him to eat enough so he came home strong and happy. The check-in process is very tedious, though. I feel like Im constantly filling out the same paperwork. Highly recommend this location.

Great team, great customer service. This is a small footprint store due to the pet hotel, so it can get seemingly crowded quick on weekends. The staff still does a good job touching base with shoppers. Also looks as if they inherited staff from the old Algonquin store, its good to see they gave opportunities to those who made the move.

Strange expereience. Employee kept rambling on about some elderly lady who wanted help to her car but she couldnt help her because she was checking people out. For those who dont know, if an elderly person ever asks for help lifting or something, all other things go on the back burner until that person is helped.
