This review is primarily for the sales person I dealt with, Joe DuVall. I had a great experience purchasing a new, 2013 Fusion Hybrid through an internet query. I had finished my car shopping "homework" and was simply looking for the package/add-ons that I wanted at the price I wanted. The sales person who responded and sold me my new car was Joe DuVall. I gave Joe my specifications and he came back with exactly what I was looking for. He was astute enough to not waste my (or his) time up-selling. We spent all of 3 phone calls and 15 minutes of back and forth on price before we settled on a clear Out The Door price that I think Joe may have still had some wiggle room on and that other Ford dealers nearer to my location wouldnt touch with a 10 ft pole (i.e. fair for both of us). My experience with their financing department was brief because I brought a check from my own bank. I simply filled out all the final sale paperwork with them and handed over the check. That process took about 90 minutes and was very perfunctory, no BS or shenanigans that are sometimes associated with car dealerships. One item of note, I had intended on putting several thousand $ in down payment on credit cards for rewards points. They only accepted $3000 on credit. I was told this was due to the service % that the card provider charges them. I ended up paying the rest of my down payment by wire transfer but was later allowed to purchase their maintenance package (another $2000) with the previously used credit card. Lastly, regarding their "money guys", I ended up waiting a little over an hour for one to be available to process my sale. This was a little frustrating as I had expressed a specific time table that I wanted to be done by and the dealership seemed very.... not busy. Anyways, joe hung out with my daughter and I and he is very personable so the time passed quickly. My experience did not (and will not, based on distance from my home) include their service or parts departments. This positive review is mostly for Joe DuVall. Thank you, Joe!
I’m not one to give out glowing reviews of companies very easily, and even when I do receive excellent service, it’s usually thanked with an increased tip or quick talk with a manager. My wife and I recently purchased a vehicle from Elk Grove Ford through John Luna. This particular dealership actually closed down in 2008 and then reopened under new ownership/management in 2010. Our dealings with Elk Grove Ford prior to it reopening in 2010 gave us concern when we decided to purchase our new car. We had some very troubling dealings with them in the past and almost didnt consider them when doing our comparison shopping. I sent emails to several of the internet managers around town and John was the one who responded first. Knowing that they were under new management, I decided to hear him out and not once did he ever try and pressure us to come in and see him. He gave us pricing in his email and since it was nearly identical to the other dealerships, we decided to stop by and see him in person. We all have our preconceptions of what a car salesperson is like—but John definitely does not fit that mold. We immediately were drawn to his great sense of humor and down to earth way of working with us. We did a test drive and even when we said we needed to think about it, he still didnt pressure us into going inside to work out a deal. We came back the next day and decided on moving forward with the purchase. As most people know, dealing with the finance people can be the worst part of a new car buying experience. We explained to John that we just wanted the car, no add ons, no warranty, nothing. Our finance guy was Ash and he was a genuinely nice man. No pressure, no repeated attempts at upselling, just did our paperwork and had us out of there in less than 10 minutes. We also had the chance to meet Cale Wood, who is the sales manager. Another great person and someone who was truly appreciative that we shopped at his dealership. We couldnt be happier in choosing Elk Grove Ford and theyve definitely earned some customers for life.
My girlfriend and I went to Elk Grove Ford on 10/20/14 to trade in her Hyundai for a vehicle with better m.p.g. We were immediately greeted by Tony Ho, to who we explained the payments, interior color, and m.p.g. we were searching for. He first took us to a Fiesta we test drove it but we werent too impressed with the exterior color (silver). Although we were searching for new, he then took us to a like new 2014 Focus (7,500 miles). After the test drive she had decided she wanted to purchase. Considering my boredom, Tony offered to let me test drive whatever I wanted I immediately pointed to the fastest thing in sight knowing I would never buy it. I then turned my attention to a F-150, he pulled out a 2014 ecoboost. I took it for a drive and decided trading in my truck may be something I should look into. I explained that my truck was 8 years old, had some battle scars, had 130,xxx miles, wasnt in my name, and I couldnt get it there that day. Tony said no problem lets see what we can do, after speaking with his manager they offered me $500 under (private party) blue book. I explained what kind of payments I needed, and that I may want to look at some others. Thats when he pulled out the big guns 2014 F150 with the lift kit and 35 tires and told me he could make my payments the same. After getting confirmation that the registered owner of my Tacoma would let me trade it in they he told me to just bring it in when I could. I then had the pleasure of meeting Ash Eldib, the finance manager who was the final stop. Ash congratulated me on my new purchase then got straight to business. I opted for the service plan, and extended warranty (100k miles) being that it was my first brand new vehicle. Although this was my first new car, it was not my first dealership experience. I was extremely happy with the time it took from start to finish for two new vehicle purchases, even though it was a quick process Tony and Ash took the time where it was needed but made sure we were out quickly to enjoy our new vehicles.
I never thought Id ever have such an unforgettable experience at a dealership, but I did at Elk Grove Ford. Quick background on me. I have never been interested in any Ford cars in my entire life. I have always been a Nissan or Subaru guy. Due to some less fortunate situations, I was in need of a change in my life. It was a bit of a shot in the dark going to Elk Grove Ford, but I am glad I did. They had a car similar to mine and the dealership was not far from my house so it was very convenient and easy to find. Upon arriving, I was greeted by John Luna. He of course said hed take good care of me, I told him it might take a miracle. He was very courteous and respectful when I explained my situation. When he spoke with others about me, he kept my matters private and made me feel extremely comfortable. I was really interested in a Mazda they had in stock, but I was BLOWN AWAY by the Ford Fusion. After a test drive, I was set on the Fusion and could only cross my fingers and hope the financial side would agree with my decision. I was waiting for the bad news from the finance specialist, but after John discussed my situation with her (while still keeping matters private), she did everything she could do to help me out. That shocking moment when I read the details about the deal they presented me and knowing I could actually afford it, was UNFORGETTABLE. John and Rachel went above and beyond to get me into my Ford Fusion. I cant remember the name of the man who walked me through filling out the loan docs, but even he noticed something that was missed and was able to lower my payment even more! This should not go unrecognized. Thank you so much. I am now on my way to getting out of this terrible rut that I am in and I owe a great deal to John and Rachel and everyone at Elk Grove Ford. THANK YOU!!! -Andrew Zaragoza Proud owner of the Ford Fusion
