If I could give less than one star regarding this experience, I would! We are in the Springfield, MO area and bought our SUV from the Springfield, MO location about two years ago. The car has run well and we have not had any problems with the service department until today! Yesterday, the vehicle started whining and growling while running. My husband, who is a licensed mechanic, looked at the vehicle and found that the alternator was not working. When he called the service department, he was treated as if he did not know anything at all about motors and was told that "if it is determined, by our mechanics, to be the alternator" that it would be covered by warranty. So, we put the non-operational vehicle onto a trailer and took it to the Springfield JD Byrider shop. TODAY....I called to make sure that they were aware of why the vehicle was at the shop, to make sure that they had the keys and to give them my contact info so they could call me when they diagnosed the vehicle. I was transferred to the attendant that my husband spoke to yesterday and I was told that they would get to it as soon as the staff was finished with their scheduled work. A short time later, I was contacted by another member of the staff to find out where the keys for the car were left. Shortly after that, the second staff member contacted me to let me know that the vehicle had been taken into the garage and that it was starting just fine. He stated that they had started it several times and did not see any problem with getting it started! REALLY??? I explained to him that we had brought it there because of the alternator, NOT the starter! He then asked me what made me think it was the alternator! NO COMMUNICATION between workers! THEN....I received a call from the second staff member again to let me know that they had tested the alternator and it was still charging fine but that a baring was going out in the alternator. He then told me, "I think it will be okay to drive it." UNBELIEVABLE!! I told him that we live 15 miles out of town and have a small son and I did not want to drive something that he "thought" would be okay knowing that there was something wrong with the alternator. He then informed me that the car was no longer under warranty, due to the mileage, and that if I wanted them to replace the alternator, they could do it for just over $200. I had my husband call and talk with him and he was told that the part would be "at cost" for $152.00, before labor and tax. My husband retrieved the car on the trailer and took it to another mechanic to have the alternator tested.....SURPRISE......it was NOT charging! AND the alternator they could get us "AT COST" was $148.00. So, not only is the service department at the Springfield, MO location uneducated and incompetent, the customers are being gauged and all the while are being told that they are getting their parts "AT COST!" Unbelievable! I would not recommend using the service department at this JD Byrider for any mechanical problem....they are argumentative, incompetent and getting over on the customers!

Latasha McGee
My name is LaTasha McGee. I‘ve had issues with my vehicle for a month now. My vehicle was towed to JD Byryder in South Holland for engine work. My vehicle’s engine was repaired within a week, and returned to me. I received my vehicle back, and on the same day I noticed the “check engine” light was still on, and there was a burning smell coming from engine. I also noticed that the miles never changed from the start of work until the end, so I am unsure how a test drive was completed and there were no miles used on the car. I took my vehicle back up to JD Byryder for them to address those issues less than 1 week after the engine was replaced. I was contacted by the receptionist Samantha in regards to my vehicle. She told me that it wasn’t enough gas in my car for the mechanic to test any further. I later received a call saying that it was an issue with my fuel line. I received my truck back for the third time and it was still running hard, engine light on and still smelled an odor coming from engine. I called back and informed CNCA/JD Byryder. I work a full time job and can’t afford to constantly be without my vehicle that I have been paying on consistently for almost two years. I can’t believe this is how a customer is treated. I called today and spoke with Samantha and she stated that I would have to pay an additional $50 because I didn’t drop my vehicle off when expected. My vehicle is not working AT ALL. So I’m out of another $100+ for towing for the third time. I asked for a receipt for the service completed for the second time and was told that they couldn’t provide me with a receipt because they didn’t do the work. I really am concerned with continuing driving me and my children around in this vehicle. I hope we can come to some resolutions in regard to my vehicle. I believe that my starter is out on my vehicle. The engine light is still on and I still smell a burning odor. I would not recommend JDByrder or CNCA TO ANYBODY EVER IN LIFE. I PRAY MY VEHICLE MAKES IT THROUGH THIS LAST YEAR OF PAYMENTS.

My experience with JD Byrider has made me feel like a robbery/ rape victim all in one. They took advantage of the terrible situation I was in and charged me 16,000 dollars for a car valued at 1500 dollars. 2002 Ford Taurus. They say all of the cars are inspected before sell and that they are in top performance. That is so far from the truth. With in the first 3 days of having the car my starter went out, my door panels are falling off, tire rod ends are getting ready to fall off, and to boot I have some electrical problem that stop my windows from rolling down most times. I pay 150 bi weekly and even by making my payments on time I will never pay the loan off. Why? Because that payment only covers the interest. I am filling a class action lawsuit. I already have 6000 signatures and counting. This company is the worst, they prey on people who are in the worst positions in their life and sell them junk. It is my goal to make sure they are shut down, and made to repay all of those they have wronged. Also did you know that even with full coverage I would still be liable if my car were totaled out through them, they dont offer gap coverage. Wow how sneaky and just low down. I will post on every public site and I already have news meetings set up. They are sucking the money that should be going to my savings to help my family. I cant even afford to fix the issues with my car because of the high payments. I know my credit sucks but that should not give a company the right to take advantage of me. Even if they over charged me they could have at least sold me a car worth paying for. This company is the main reason why our country is failing. Why you ask??? Its the greed of a few that hurt many. I have seen the owners home due to my job and let me tell you they want for nothing. The house they live in is as big as a hotel, but now I see how they got it. By stealing from the poor......
