Sephora is just a nasty place to go if you seem poor or look as if you dont know anything about makeup. I went into this Sephora for the VIB sale and wasnt greeted by the man standing in the entrance or given a basket for my things. Mind you a well dressed girl with makeup on had just walked in before me and was greeted and given a basket. I tested these people and picked up so many things of the products I had listed to buy, but then came a point where I really needed a basket. One of the employees walks up to me and taps me on the shoulder and says are you the one who needed a basket, I replied yes and then she saw nothing in my hand because I had just set my things down for a moment before she came and then she looked at me and my hands and said ohh youre not the one and walked away. I had to calm my anger for a bit because i was about to turn around and say some pretty nasty things to someone I had clearly expressed to that I needed a basket. At one point one of my lipticks falls and this nice plain looking girl with glasses picks it up and hands it to me and I say thank you and with a louder tone express to her how these Sephora workers wont even help you out if you dont have an oz of makeup on your face. Hopefully the workers standing close by heard this idc. I was able to spot some baskets on the floor and I went and got my own basket by myself. By the time i was finished that basket was full of over 500 bucks worth of products from this ignorant place. Funny thing is since I seemed poor and was plain looking that day I felt like I was watched constantly by a lot of the workers. With more and more products being thrown into my basket now a lot of them wanted to kiss my ass. Theyre lucky they didnt try anything slick because I wasnt having it. The cashier lady seemed lazy and annoyed at times and she didnt give me any samples. I think the only reason I bought from here was because I came prepared and planned and noone was taking that away from me. This store had almost everything I wanted to buy, and I had to go to work soon and didnt feel like going anywhere else. Thats the only reason I gave it 2 stars because they had almost everything I was looking for. Will I go back hell yes Ill go back because its close and sales tax is only 3.5% instead of the 7%. No one will ever intimidate me because I know who I am and I have a mouth that I can very well use to express my feelings towards these ignorant assholes.

My friend was just in this store and was racially profiled by a manager named Toya. Toya had all her employees follow my friend around who had nothing but samples which she was given to by another associate who was extremely helpful Tanya. My friend asked for a bag to put them in since she didnt have a purse with her. Manager Toya ended up calling the mall security who asked my friend if she had something to give it back. My friend did not have anything at all but was racially profiled based on her looks. My friend explained to the security guard the situation and the security guard mentioned this happens quite often. I witnessed this and can attest to Toyas terrible attitude, rude language and the nasty way she looked at my friend. Additionally Rafael Sanchez from this store also acted the same way racially profiling my friend and was nothing but nasty and even told my friend "If you feel uncomfortable then you should leave". I will never go to another Sephora again and would definitely never recommend this location to anyone, especially those of different nationalities. I will say avoid Toya and Rafael Sanchez at all costs if you step into this store

***This review is for the Sephora on the first floor near the escalators*** Natalie helped me, a makeup novice, learn how to do a nice everyday look. I was extremely nervous but she made it easy and painless. Shes very knowledgeable at what she does and most importantly you can feel the passion in her voice as she talks to you about makeup. I never felt pressured into buying, rushed or like I was being a bother. She made me feel confident enough to try it at home and even gave me extra pointers. Youve got a lifelong customer thanks to this wonder beauty expert.

I LOVEEEE Sephora, dont get me wrong. BUT I would recommend not going to the one in Newport Centre because the manager has attitude and she should not be like that, especially with customers. The girls in this sephora try to convine you do let them do your make-up for a special event at your house or theirs (on the down low) which is against the stores policies. PLEASE BE SMART AND NOT GO TO THIS SEPHORA. AT LEAST BE SMART ENOUGH TO GO TO ONE LOCATED ELSE WHERE. HORRIBLE SERVICE, GIRLS, AND MANAGER AT THIS ONE!!!!!!

Worst experience in Sephora ever. The one downstairs the workers there were perfectly pleasant and very helpful. The one inside JC penny was horrible. We had to walk around 2 3 times before we decided to check things out on our on. One of the employees was very very rude scream and my child telling her not to touch anything should of shot out need up, which I think is very unprofessional. Will never go here again and it said because we are loyal customers. I suggest people go to sephora in garden state mall.

I went in looking for a certain lipstick but they were out. the associate suggested me to visit sephora in jcp. I told her i just came from there. So she then mentioned visiting macys. At macys they didnt carry the brand i wanted but the associate helped me find something better. Im just suprised they wanted me to shop at other establishments like my purchase was irrelevant. More she didnt want to take the time to help

Who doesnt love Sephora? Their staff at every location is amazing and very well trained on makeup, skincare and products. More importantly Sephora is home of a lot of exclusives including this amazing Pat McGrath lipstick- must buy because color is to die for. Plus packaging/ unwrapping is an experience. Thank you to the sales associate that recommended I buy!

I have had some great experiences here (and some very problematic ones). In all cases, it has been always because of the customer service I received from a representative. My last experience with Santa was definitely one of the best. She was kind, patient and so helpful. The mascara suggestion she gave was exactly what we had been looking for.

Very UNORGANIZED AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I called to make a make up session over the phone two weeks prior to my special occasion and got a verbal confirmation by the girl who answered the phone. When I get there they tell me that my appointment doesnt exist!! They are full for the day and they cant take anyone else.

Some of the people there are okay, but overall, if youre black or gay, they assume youre either lost or will steal from them. I go there pretty often and Ive been followed around... If it happens to you, know that you arent alone... I will continue shopping at the stores in New York!
