When my Husband suggested that we go to Yale Appliance and Lighting for our renovation rather than use one of the big box stores, I was concerned that we wouldnt have as much choice, the prices would be exponentially higher and wed have extended lead times on the deliveries. However, our Yale Lighting Consultant, Henriette Rieu, quickly changed that misperception! Henriette reviewed pictures of the house and she asked many questions about our lighting usage and priorities. We determined that we wanted to stay as close to the original period lighting as possible while making use of the new energy saving technology and she quickly put a lighting plan together to meet our needs. Henriette offered us the benefit of her knowledge and without any pressure and allowed us to come to our own decision on the lighting that best fit for our criteria. When we were looking at a fixture that was almost perfect, she found exactly what we were looking for in one of their extensive vendor catalogs. When our Electrician was installing our lights, he remarked that the quality of the lights we had bought from Yale was much higher than big box store lighting. We are delighted with the end result would highly recommend Henriette Rieu and Yale Appliance and Lighting to anyone looking for an outstanding lighting selection, insightful guidance, solid value and exceptional customer service. Update from 05/10/14: After a disastrous experience buying (and returning) appliance from a big box store, we decided to go to Yale Appliance and Lighting for a stove and refrigerator. Since the kitchen cabinets and counter-tops had been already been installed, were concerned about finding appliance that would meet our rather tight specifications and our appliance specialist, Jessica Goodale, could not have been more knowledgeable or accommodating. Jessica showed us a number of options that would meet our needs and gave us a detailed overview of the benefits of each of the options. After we had made our decisions, Jessica explained the delivery process and assured us that unlike our previous experience, Yale Appliance and Lighting stood behind their products and would be there to help us in the even that we encountered an issue in the future. As we were leaving the showroom, we jokingly asked Jessica if she had always been this passionate about appliances and she said that she really enjoyed working with customers to get them exactly what they wanted and that was the philosophy that Appliance and Lighting fostered in all of their associates. We are delighted with the end result would highly recommend Jessica Goodale and Yale Appliance and Lighting to anyone looking for selection, insightful guidance and solid value when shopping for appliances.

Update to below: It is now about a week since I posted here and gave a 3-star rating. I need to update that to a solid 5-star after Yale not only listened to my concerns, but made me feel so valued as a customer it was amazing. I have come to realize that I had all the support post-purchase that I could ask for. The installation team was amazing! (Thank-you Will & Luis!) All my needs were taken care of, and I love my new appliances. My only comment for improvement would be that their awesome install team and their easy availability might be better high-lighted at the point-of-purchase. Other than that small issue, this is one of the best stores in our area. And not just in the appliance segment; these people simply run a stellar company and they care deeply about making sure their customers are satisfied when all is said and done. My original review is below, please read with a grain of salt! You really need to be more prepared to shop here than we were if you have never owned appliances of this level before. The shopping experience was the best I have ever had, but, since delivery it has been a struggle. Make sure your contractors have experience with installation of Thermador, etc., as they need extra care and are far from "plug-and-play" like less expensive options. Yale, to their credit, have been very accommodating to my issues, but I wish the issues did not need to come up in the first place. Perhaps I should have more clear that buying this stuff was a first, and a special treat, for us. So, if you are not an experienced 1%er, yet just a Normal Joe trying to raise your life experience like me, be very clear that you know nothing about fancy stuff. It delayed our project into the crisis zone of timing, and has caused much stress. Again, Yale is pretty awesome, but like everything, they have their plusses and minuses. The appliances arrive in many little pieces, all hard to figure out for the layman, or a normal contractor. I felt like a king when I was able to purchase this stuff. Since delivery, I have felt like sort of a fool. Did not expect this bad aftertaste and was not really prepared by Yale for just what I was buying into. I should have been more savvy; I hope this review will help the next customer like me who does not build, or live in, a McMansion. I think that is who their normal customer is. All this said, I will go back there, just more informed next time.

Extremely disatisfied with Yale Appliance. We purchased a complete set of appliances, stove, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave from them less than three years ago. Since that time we have had problems with three out of the four appliances and Yale has been totally unresponsive to our requests for help. Early on we became quite unhappy with the burner configuration and btu output on the stove and when I called to discuss it and express our concerns we were told quite abruptly, "Put it on ebay, maybe you can sell it there." Since that time the face plate that covers the stove controls is starting to peel and we have already had to replace an igniter in the oven. Additionally, the freezer compartment in our fridge experienced a tremendous amount of ice build-up which caused the fan to start clicking (I assume the fan was making contact with chunks of ice). At the time we didnt fully understand the problem and so we called Yale cutomer service to ask for help troubleshooting. We were sent straight to voice mail. To be fair, the ice build up was not an appliance malfunction, but the lack of help from Yale was frustrating. And today our dishwasher completely stopped working; no power, (and yes, I have checked the circuit breaker and the power cable) . As most of the other reviews of this store have pointed out, the folks at Yale are very friendly and helpful when you are in their showroom. But once they have your money, which in our case was over $4,000, you are on your own. Furthermore, based on our experience with the performance of the appliances we purchased I am also questioning their knowledge about the long term performance of their product lines. We bought these products in part because of Yales recommendations when we were in the store, and now that we are struggling, Yale is no where to be found. Our local appliance repair man, however, is doing quite a bit of business with us. He has been to our home twice in the last year to fix our appliances and, because he answers his phone, he was able to talk us through fixing our ice build up issue in the freezer. He will be getting our business now.
