Please save your customers the embarrassment, and post your actual alcohol policy. Yes, valid ID is required for the purchase of alcohol, but your REAL policy is that everyone with you must also provide valid ID or look over 40 years old. Also, I dont believe this is Michigan law that requires each person traveling with you to be IDd. Should I walk in with a child, will I not be allowed to buy alcohol for myself? I didnt not appreciate the disgruntled employee and manager giving me the up-and-down to then refuse sale even after my husband presented valid identification. Sure I could have just brought my purse with me, but how embarrassing it was to have the whole store stare and think Im some teenager trying to bum some Cabernet Sauvignon. Again, please post your real policy and be consistent about it, because there have been times when only I get carded when my husband and I buy wine at Sawall.

Excellent health and natural foods store - Sawall is my go-to for healthy, natural, and unique groceries. I love shopping there because there are so many great products to find and try! Its a great place for bulk products (spices (to avoid buying whole containers when you only need a teaspoon of something), coffee, nuts, grains, flours, snacks, teas), for organic produce, for kombucha, for locally-sourced meats, for supplements and vitamins... there is just so much that is great here. Plus, Sawall has recently updated their store to include a gelato bar, deli, and coffee bar, with an upstairs seating area. This is genuinely one of my favorite places to shop in the Kalamazoo area, and I highly recommend it.

Sawall is a nice store, even nicer after the expansion. They have a great selection of ethnic, organic, veg., and other high-quality foodstuffs. However, you must know what to buy here and what not to buy. The bulk foods and produce are reasonably priced according to the quality, but much of the other stuff is ridiculously over-priced such as the milk alternatives and nut butters being almost double what youd pay for the exact same thing at Meijer. Now Im all about supporting the little guys, but come on. Even the Natural Health Center across town, which is a much smaller store, dosent charge over 5 bucks for Silk, a mid-shelf brand.

Every time I shop at this store its hard to find help. This morning I was in shopping and no one, I mean not one person greeted or talked to me including the owner. I was in there about 10-15mins and realized I was no longer giving them my business. I left my cart with the items in it and left. Even walking out no one said one thing to me as there were 4 employees standing around talking. Im not a high maintenance customer that needs attention but at least acknowledge customers as they come in. Never again will I shop here. My experience here doesnt even deserve 1star and thats being nice. You all should be ashamed.

+ big place. If you want something health food-related, its almost certainly here. + good bulk selection and prices - buys in too much to woo. I realize this is almost part of the definition of "health food store," but wouldnt it be a refreshing change to go a health store and ask where the homeopathic products are and hear "Im sorry, that stuff has been pretty much conclusively proven to be worthless, so we believe we have an ethical obligation not to carry it." I once accidentally bought fluoride-free toothpaste here because it never occurred to me that someone would sell that.

GREAT selection of local, organic, gluten-free, dairy free, paleo... (you name it) health foods and supplements. Prices are "good not great" but, amazing food from local farms and some bigger names too (like Applegate). They also carry Hilhof Dairy - pricey but, WORTH IT. SOOOOO GOOOOOD. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Also a huge selection of supplements, cleaning, personal care, etc... items. Just a great place.

I have been shopping her my whole life with my mom when I was a kid and now with my husband and daughters we love it. Great food and the samples so much to try before you buy it, they always have coupons out also. The prices are sometimes higher but the quality is better we do most of our shopping her and I love supporting local businesses. The staff is awesome and very knowledgeable of the products.

I have been shopping at Sawall for over 4 years.... I trust what they stock. They are my first "go-to" for high quality products. I can always get my questions and requests addressed... without any trouble finding someone to help me. I am looking forward to enjoying the expanded services once the renovation is ready.

There was one man in particular who was extremely rude, he seemed to have no people skills whatsoever. At check-out I asked the clerk who it was - she said the owners were out-of-town and their SON was managing the store. Total jerk - and I have not been back and tell all my friends not to go there.

Great selection of natural and health foods. I love the bulk items and offerings from local companies. Prices are pretty fair and sometimes they have really great sales and specials. I dont do the majority of my shopping here but Im glad to buy from here when I can.

Huge assortment of natural and trendy health products. Staff always asks if you need help. There is never a line at the checkout. Prices are about right for the quality. Amazon generally a bit cheaper but not enough to stop me from buying here. Locally owned.

Extremely good natural selections. We drive 1hr to go here on a bi-weekly basis. Now, they are expanding and adding more selections as well as a restaurant and food bars. We love this place. Proof that the Mom&Pop shop can compete with the Corporate big shots.

This newly remodelled store has a friendly staff thats always there to help you find what youre looking for. It has a good selection of healthy and organic foods, herbal supplements, and health-care products. Think Whole Foods but worth better prices.

Outstanding selection of organic products. They are expanding their paleo options as well. Special orders are never a problem. Bulk order discounts are nice. Yet another great local business to support. Employees are friendly and knowledgeable too.

This is the only health food store in West Michigan that gives students a discount on their purchases. Their staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Their prices are somewhat comparable with Earthfares, but their selection is not as diverse.

I shopped here while in Kalamazoo and found the staff to be helpful and willing to help me find items. The store had those unique items I was looking for and carries whole grain baked items from a variety local stores.

Awesome selection of organic, natural, vegan, and gluten free foods, as well as the new cafe and Amorino gelato make this friendly neighborhood style market a go to location for Kalamazoo locals.

Decent shop with some harder to find items. Prices are a little on the high side. Theyre doing an expansion as of Summer 2016, adding a cafe, which could be a great addition to the neighborhood.

I have always found whatever obscure item I was looking for here, and the staff has been helpful and nice. Theyre a bit pricey, but theyre the only game in town for much of what they carry.

They have great selection and excelling quality produce. But, it comes with price. Being a college student, its really had to make complete grocery shopping here within my monthly budget.
