WOW..........I am so impressed with this store. This is the type of store that makes America great. Nice people, great service, you see the same people working there year after year. I have never seen a store give so much back to its clients. They have CONTESTS and days where they actually SERVE LUNCH to the customers. They dont make places like this anymore. The staff has a great sense of humor. I see them always willing to help. I have purchased four birds that were all very healthy and have awesome personalities. The bird food selection ROCKS. You wont find the same quality at other stores. The cages, the animal food selection is only high quality. I have checked their prices against five stores and they always had the best pricing on high quality cages. I would rather pay a little bit more to get better service and higher quality. The hater reviews I read.....give me a break....talk about spoiled consumers. As consumers you have so many resources at your fingertips. The internet, the library...people you know who have animals..take some responsibility. It took me like five tries before creating a good environment for fish. Not once did I blame it on the store owner or establishment. Not all of us were meant to be experts and having animals but you learn. Dont blame stuff on the shop owner because you didnt inform your SELF on the subject of keeping fish. Because you didnt do your home work you want a small business owner take the hit. Who needs customers like that. Go to Walmart. You would have had some 14 year old kid selling you crap fish you would have obviously killed anyway. The stores you take your animals to are HUGE.....this is a cute little pet shop.....If you need that type of attention..... take your dog to the large chains then.......the truth of that is .....As much as we love our pets not everyone does....Its simply not appropriate here.... Its not fair to other shoppers to bring dogs to a place like this. Again how much of a spoiled adult brat can you be. Why would you write a negative review about a place that is so rare in our society these days. To wish any good ol American Pet shop like this to go down is un- American... No business needs customers like you guys. If you want a great place to get bird advice, excellent customer service from real experienced people this is your place. I also see the same customers there all the time so they are doing a lot of things right. My bird even gets excited when he goes back there. I have been going there for over eight years. They have saved me so much money in free advice. It would have taken me hours of reading and a lot of vet visits to learn what these people teach their customers. HATS OFF TO BIRDS AND BEASTS!!!!!!! As we speak, I am holding one of the baby crested geckos I bought from them. Ive been there numerous times, sometimes just looking and holding, but we went there once to get some fish food, and the pH powder to make the pH lower, and after the tank was just right, we bought 6 fish. 3 Black Phantom Tetras, 3 Colombian Tetras. They were amazing, in good health, and when I had to give them away, they still seemed to be doing good. We also bought 2 other fish, Dwarf Goramis, and they, sadly, died. We werent checking the pH, and we found out the hard way. Then, we took an interest in Crested Geckos. The kits they have there are amazing, and the gecko itself, is awesome. The breed the geckos themselves, they are very knowledgeable on everything in the store, and made it easy for when we had to move this guy down to Missouri. When we bought their kit, we had a hold on one little baby crestie, whos now almost a month old (hatched May 24, I believe they said) for us. When we picked him up, the put a paper towel in a deli cup, sprayed warm water on it, and placed him inside. He did well throughout the move, and is healthy and friendly today. I handle him regularly, and change his food every other day. Overall experience, 5/5, Service, 5/5, and the Products, 5/5.

I have bought from there for years for supplies for my pets. Recently, we decided to give hermit crabs a try. I called them to find out whether they carry hermit crabs or not. The lady who answered asked me lots of questions about my set up for them. So many chain pet stores will just hand over whatever animal you want and let you deal with the consequences- often giving false information about how easy or hard it is to care for. I really have to hand it to them there, they really care about the animals, not just making a sale. I knew before calling that hermit crabs are not an "easy" pet, as they are often advertised. Its a labor of love for me, and I would rather keep them happy/healthy for their entire lifespan. Not everyone wants that commitment- and thats ok! Better than the people selling you the pet tell you exactly what youre in for before you buy! I applaud the employee for making sure I knew what I was talking about before offering to order the hermit crabs for me. Our 3 little hermmies will be here next Thursday hopefully! Five stars all day, everyday.

Never again. I went in to get both my parrots nails trimmed. And for the last 8 years they have done just that, trimmed only their nails. This time, Pat decided to lop off 1/2 their wings. Both are so traumatized they wont even move and my big parrot is having an issue with his left wing. He cant raise it. Pat claimed that she does thousands of birds and cant remember everyones preference even though she always remarks on how pretty my Painted Conure is and that shed love to have and breed her, and weve had discussions about why I leave them both fully flighted. I have cats and should they ever need to, they can fly up to protect themselves. Then she said that I only bring my birds in 3-4 times a year. She can remember how many times I bring them in but cant remember that they only get their nails trimmed? Huh. And then like a child she says, "I didnt do it on purpose." Now why would she you say that? Anyone who has taken intro to psychology can tell you why. I will be taking my parrots to the vet where they never leave my sight.

This place is FANTASTIC! Its the old Ma & Pop stores that used to be around in the good ol days. The one star reviews are a shame. People need to be responsible THEMSELVES! How could you expect a small shop owner to replace something you yourself were obviously negligent on. Every fish tank owner knows to test the friggen water. Cmon maaan! really???? If you dont its your fault!!! I KNOW if they would have asked for advice this shop would have went above and BEYOND as they always do for me. This place has given me an entire cost free education as to how to care of my birds who were all hand fed by them. The owners give so much to their customer base. Its just something you dont find anymore. I have been to EVERY pet shop in the area and this is the best. They DO take VERY good care of the animals. Mites could have been on a pet before a shop got it. Look at the water and food of the animal. Its always amazingly clean and very well put together.
