So much for Sears. No surprise why Sears is quickly circling the financial drain. I used to be very favorable to Sears, especially Craftsman. That has changed dramatically over the last few years. I bought a Drill Press. It let a friend use it and he damage it. No big deal, he was more than willing to pay to get it fixed. So, I took it to Sears in Stonebriar...what a nightmare that was. They told me it would take 7-10 days to tell me what needed to be fixed, and cost. After 10 days, I called... I hadnt heard from them. I was told they were backlogged and it would take another week. Well, a month later, they finally called and didnt tell me what was wrong, they told me it was ready for pickup....okay.... So, I go to pick it up, and they have no record of it in their system....a call to a manager quickly revealed it was in the system.....but it was in Georgia for some unknown reason..... 2 months later, I did get my drill press back, fixed.... Now the more recent. Coming up on 2 years ago, my wife bought me a Cordless Craftsman Trimmer. I was really excited....for a little while. Damn 19.2 V Batteries lasted not even two summers. I went in and had to buy new batteries late last Summer... 60.00 for a pair of them. Well, I went to trim last weekend...and low and behold, these new batteries I had used maybe 5 times...were dead. I just went in and reported what I found. I was told "Nothing they can do". IF I had purchased the extended warranty (Keep in mind, the damn batteries were 60 for a pair, and they wanted another 28 for extended warranty) then I could apply for a coupon online and then get new batteries once that came in.... What a crock of BS. Way too many other reputable companies out there. My old Craftsman tools will eventually all be replaced by something else. Never again Sears...for anything.

I purchased a GE washing machine 5 weeks ago. After missing the first delivery with no day ahead confirmation call, and no call ahead; they delivered the wrong washing machine on the second attempt 3 weeks after I bought it. We all finally realized the salesperson wrote up the wrong machine (not sure how that possible because we used it as the desk to write it up), I also discovered that he charged me for free delivery and did not include the 15% discount with a new Sears card. This is not what was on my receipt. He said that the reason he didnt include it is that it was declined, but miraculously the new card showed up in the mail the day he made that statement. He and his manager were quite shocked when I pulled it out of my pocket in the envelope it came in. We rescheduled the delivery of the correct washing machine and again no confirmation call, and no call ahead as is the policy. My wife was literally next door and they never even tried to contact us through any of the numbers on file. They called hours after the scheduled delivery and said no one was home so they didnt deliver it. We now have the third delivery attempt scheduled 6 weeks after the machine was bought and paid for. I have zero faith. If anyone is wondering why Sears is going down the tubes. I am living it right now. There is no way that I will step foot in another Sears store for any reason. This is sad because I have bought all the appliances for 3 houses from them. Save yourself the time and effort and just shop somewhere else. This is the most broken and convoluted experience I have had in my adult life and they just keep saying theyre sorry, but cant make it right.

This is not specific to any location but to SEARS online and their protocol for handling customer complaints. First of all I ordered 4 new Hancook tires online and they sent me a confirmation that they had been shipped to the local Sears Automotive center for installation. Sears then confirmed my appointment to have them installed. Upon arrival at my appointment they notified me by phone 30 minutes after I had left them my keys that they had never ordered the tires. The guy at the store actually handled it OK and put a rush on my order. However he did tell me I would have to take my complaint up with sears and not his department. When I contacted Sears online they gave me a phone # to call and the person I talked to couldnt speak my language. I hung up and tried again but similar situation. I told the lady what had happened and I am not sure of her response as I couldnt understand her. I did manage to figure out that she said she notified someone else and that something would take 24-48 hours.... not sure what. Really frustrated with Sears. It used to be that they were reliable and consumer friendly with a sincerity that they really wanted to help people. Now its just a marketing scam where they have friendly people on TV ads but pull the bait-and-switch. Disappointed/frustrated/saddened/ and angry.

In Store Went and picked out a mattress on Presidents day weekend. It took them almost an hour to get through one customer so that I could check out. During checkout I was tricked into signing up for their rewards card and harassed into buying the mattress liner theyre promoting. The person ringing me up also added on a bedspring without asking. Delivery I have yet to receive my mattress. It is almost a week and a half past the delivery date. The first day was understandable due to the icy weather, but they were closed another two days afterwards even though the roads were clear. When they were finally able to deliver again I get a call stating they lost my mattress in the warehouse and were unable to deliver it. I dont know when my mattress will get here, but their next attempted delivery is 5 days from now. I will never buy anything from sears again if they have to deliver it. It may never come.

My rating is for Ajay in appliances. We purchased a refrigerator from the Sears Outlet in Allen, and have had issues with it from the beginning. We have the extended warranty, and it has broken so many times that they agreed to give us a new one. Unfortunately, the dollar amount they approved was only about 65% of what that model is currently selling for. Ajay did all the legwork in making sure they increased the amount so that we could get a comparable refrigerator. We were expecting a huge headache, but had absolutely none at all! He advised us on which models were best, so that we dont have to go through this again. Please commend Ajay on a job well done! He completely made our week!!!

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, was there today to buy my wife a ankle bracelet. We stood at the counter for 10 minutes, no one ever showed up. We finally found a employee whos said she could not help us but would paig some one who could. She did and after another 10 minutes still no one. I found another person finally who said she couldnt help us. She said the person who worked the jewlery counter was at lunch and there was no one who could help us. Really, wont be going back there again. At this rate they wont be in business much longer. I wont go back to that store again.
