Nob Hill, Alameda, is my store to go to. They have a great meat section and the Deli, is very good. As one reviewer mentioned, it is spacious and easy to get around in. I used to think that their prices are higher than other stores in the area but, they wont "break the bank". The clerks behind the counters, are always friendly and accommodating. In fact, I want to mention one clerk in particular in this review. His name is Willie. Willie, is probably one of the youngest clerks working at the store. He is fast, efficient and was so helpful and kind to me. Shopping for some people, is a pleasurable event but, I cannot say the same, for myself. Having someone like Willie, serve me, makes shopping a lot more pleasant. I will continue to shop at Nob Hill, Alameda, as long as I live here. It is a great grocery store and it is in a lovely location. Like another reviewer, I love to see the rowing crews, passing by. All these young lads, in complete unison as they pull and row their way down the river. Truly, makes my day to watch them.

In 40 years of ordering cakes for my children and grandchildren I have never experienced so many problems. The picture on the cake looked nothing like the photo I brought in for them to copy and put on top. So much confusion about what size cake the picture could be fitted on. It was supposed to fit a full sheet when I originally ordered it and luckily I called back to make sure that this would be done. I was then informed that it would only fit a 1/4 sheet cake. I then opted for 2 1/2 sheet cakes with a decorative border around the picture. 1 was to be a white cake and the other a chocolate cake. Party time, I have 2 lines of people, 1 for white cake and 1 for chocolate cake. Surprise, theyre both white cakes. I used Nob Hill because it was on the way to the venue. The worst part was that the colors were nothing like the picture. Pink and gold ending up being blue and yellow. I dealt with 3 different ladies and they for the most part were very nice and the cake was delicious. Just very disappointing.

This is a wonderful spot to hang out and drink some coffee with your dog ,your kids, a loved one , or by yourself ,or any of the above. Great view of the estuary and right across the estuary are rowing clubs who you can enjoy watching while you drink your coffee ,which you get from the on location Peets Coffee ,or some of the great prepared foods that is served up inside Nob Hill. You can then walk down a really nice little area behind all the stores which is really very lovely that ends at the foot of the Fruitvale Bridge down at Pet Food Express. I take my dog in where she gets a few treats,weighted, and occasionally much to her dismay I give her a bath. An nice destination.

Checkerd arent recognising major lines are forming. Some checkers are so slow in the express line I get out quicker in a regular line when I have 12 items or less. Hand baskets near the produce section are not stocked properly, I come in and nothing. I walk to coffee entrance and its way over stocked. Poor deli help. Some people just arent cut out for making a basic sandwich. Are these people being watched how the make sandwiches? Avaluation? Ask someone where something is? They arent too sure. Produce section needs A lot of help. Poor quality is left out. Im paying way too much for this B S. Why dont I just go to Safeway or Readers Joes?

Love going here for groceries. Sometimes they have better deals than Safeway! I use to think Safeway was cheaper. They can be for some things, but Nob Hill can also have some good deals too. For example, around the time of Thanksgiving, 3 bottles of Martinellis Apple Cider cost $5 for 3 bottles, whereas Safeway sold two bottles for $5. This grocery store is also very nice, and actually carries a good amount of items in the ethnic food aisles. They also have their gas station, and its pretty cheap!

Nob Hill can be pricey at times but you can never beat their amazing selection, especially produce and international foods. This particular location happen to be on my way to work. I love to stop by any time I need something. The staff is friendly and always helpful. the store is clean and the layout is optimized for convenience. This location also has a reasonably priced gas station with car wash. Although i have noticed the car wash can be very busy during after work time and on the weekend.

The fresh seafood doesnt stay fresh long, not a place to buy shrimp amongst others, I have shopped here for many yrs now, I ONLY got because it requires one bus ride & stops directly in front of store, they do employ a PEETS Cafe but closes at 8pm......checkers rush you even if no one is behind you, again, I go for transit convenience only, employees do NOT ever want to assist, I am just being honest....p.s., produce rarely stays fresh for more than 48 hrs, SAD !

This grocery store feels so fresh. It makes me want to buy healthy. At times it seems to be on the more expensive side when compared to Lucky or Safeway but I love their produce because it seems fresher and I have yet to pick up anything old and bruised. Good job guys in the produce section! Parking is sometimes and issue but I feel like Nob Hill is an in and out kind of shopping experience.

Great last minute stop before heading on freeway. Prices are a bit more, but sometimes you can spot last change deals mark down. Workers are helpful in any way they can never a dull moment here. Lines are quick and easy with no hassle. Lot is huge as large vehicle can get in and out with no problems. They even have a Peets Coffee inside that you can enjoy while shopping.

In my opinion, this is the best grocery store in town right up there with Trader Joes. They always have the best fresh produce and the employees are friendly. Im not sure why anyone would want to shop at the overcrowded Safeway at South Shore, when the food quality and atmosphere are so much better at Nob Hill.

Very clean store, good quality food, the only reason that Im giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because of a recent, not so pleasant visit in the sandwich area. They have a worker that doesnt use common sense and good sanitary habits. Management did respond promptly and stated that it would be addressed.

A Private User

This store is always clean. The bathrooms are the cleanest which says a lot about a store in my opinion. Not crowed like the other major grocer. But the best part is the pharmacy. The pharmacy there blows everybody else out of the water. Friendly on phone and at store. Willing to go the extra mile.

My only complaint about Nob Hill is that their prices are somewhat higher than some of the competing stores. They have an excellent meat and produce selection, along with a long row of service counters and a Peets Coffee. The item selection in the remainder is probably better than Safeway.
