I dropped off my outboard to have it serviced. It was idling poorly. I asked for a quote before any work was done because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to invest a lot in the motor. I was told the work could be done in two weeks. After two weeks they had not looked at my motor and it took five calls over a week and a half just to reach someone. It took six more weeks from that point for the work to be done. I was quoted a price, but was charged eighty dollars more when I went to pickup the motor. The manager said, “Eighty dollars is really not that big of deal.” I pointed out if it wasnt a big deal, then he could charge me the price I was quoted. After some arm twisting, he agreed to split the difference with me. A few weeks after the repair I used the motor only to find out that the problem was not fixed. Im $700 poorer, lost almost the entire summer of boating, and my motor runs just as poorly as before.. Bad experience from every aspect. You’ve been warned.

I was having a hard start cold & hot with a new to me 1982 90hp Mercury out board motor. I had read reviews on line and some were not complimentary. However after being reassured by a happy customer I took my boat/outboard to Coventry. I gave them permission to just fix it. After one hour of diagnosis they determined the problem. I was not following proper starting procedure. They taught me how start the outboard and I am a happy man. They could have taken me to the cleaners and I would not have been the wiser. Purchased a bike, just hours later would not start. Returned bike to the shop. After several attempts and weeks later by Coventry Motors to fix the problem, they never did anything but waste my time. Their advise was to get a portable jumper, as this is a common problem with motorcycles. Took the bike someplace else. Turns out entire charging system needed to be replaced. Dishonest business practices and terrible customer service.
