Normally i really enjoy shopping here, i come here daily, and know many of the cashiers who are beyond outstanding. The Deli on the other hand is horrible. Every singel day. The lack of customer service is unreal. Most of the time the associate look down and try to stay busy to avoid helping anyone even when they look directly at you. The wait is shamful. If you need somthing in a hurry, forget it. Today Dong helped me .. or didnt. He didnt know how to make the sandwich i was ordering for someone. So he asked me... ? When I asked to add pickels and peppers on it he told me "no we dont do that!" Very rude. I told him i have always asked for that and they do it everytime i order the sandwich. He said "we dont! , if you want i chared you extra" i told him i didnt mind paying extra. Also just out of curiosity.. if you dont know how to make the sandwich, how do you know you need to charge extra for certin topping ? Unless you did know and just tryed to detour me away so you wouldnt have to ?

I used to live around the corner from this establishment for five years. I like it, and the people who work there, so much that even though I moved over a year ago this is still my default grocery store. The ONLY reason that I did not give it a five star rating is because sometimes the lines are EXCESSIVE while there are only two checkstands open and at least one of the self-check kiosks is always out of commission. Ms. Deborah, Stephen, Ms. Mary, Ms. Antoinette--all absolutely gems!!!! Living in Oakland it is rare to visit an establishment with consistent positive customer service, but this is not one of those places. Bonqueeshanaenae will not be rolling her eyes and smacking gum in your ear, while on the phone arguing with her baby daddy when youre being rang up. Promise.

Walked in the store, no one greeted me. That was ok. The store was neat and clean. I walked to the back of the store in search of air fresheners. There was associates who just walked right by me when I was looking for the item. Once I found the product, right by the employees door, employees talked to each other never once acknowleding me ; only to each other. I even spoke to one employee he looked up and barely said hello.

I frequent this place at least twice a week for the past five years. Recently, my partner and I have had 3 separate incidents where the SAME security guard has followed us around the market, as if were about to steal. If theres a problem, why not approach us professionally. I have been a loyal customer and to be treated this way multiple times, I will no longer do my grocery shopping there. Boo you unLucky!

Lucky Supermarket is the best bet when it comes to an American grocery store near Lake Merritt. They have all the essentials like pasta, cheese, vegetables and fruits. I like the variety of the products and the sales items are great as well. The fruits and veggies are sometimes hit or miss, but the convenience factor definitely is a plus. Bring your own bags and shop away!

This is a decent Luckys store in strategic location just East of Lake Merritt. Where it is desperately needed. The parking lot is about the right size, the deli and meat departments to standard. Nothing spectacular. Panhandlers are common outside the store. Security cant seem to keep them away, but vehicle break-ins are t least not a problem.

If your Chinese, you probably will find shopping here easier since many of the employees dont speak English! The aisles are cluttered, the selection of foods limited, very few employees ask you if you need some help. Its a mess of a store. Too many employees too seem to be just walking around and doing nothing.

This place is scary only because of the loiters outside. I go here only when i can see there is no one hanging around. I have had 3 separate times where i was inappropriately approached yelled at or my bicycle was disturbed. These days I order off of Amazon Pantry. They send all my food for $5.99 ! Thats a deal!

I go here when I have to. Organic stuff is over priced and limited. They do have all the booze one would want and they are open till midnight. Cashiers are friendly but slow. There is usually someone begging for change outside. I wont feel safe going here alone but they do have a security guard.

Always understocked, dirty and sketchy. Staff are almost nonverbal and you get hassled for money by various homeless people every time you walk in our out, and some of them get a little aggressive when you turn them down. Youre better off going to the Safeway on Alameda or the one on Grand Ave

I like my neighborhood Lucky. They carry a decent selection of organic produce, tofu, tempeh, and specialty brands like Bobs Red Mill and Califa farms, and Synergy Komucha! I can get decent free range organic eggs too. For some reason they dont ever seem to have organic potatoes though!

Always has super long lines, never enough cashiers. For about a year they had signs hanging that claimed "More than 3 people in line and well open a new check stand." This never happened and I go there many days a week since I live nearby.

Ive been coming to this location since I was a child. After turning into an Albertsons, I am so happy it has became Lucky supermarket again. The produce selection is fresh and it is always a great feeling coming through this location.

They have a great deli, the chicken was fantastic. Good product selection and from my quick visit it appears good prices too. The clerk at checkout was nice too. If I lived closer I would probably shop T this store regularly

This the best store in Oakland, the people in side of the store who works there are incredible, if you need help looking for an item, they will assist you an help carryout your groceries to your car . Good place to shop.

Its a supermarket. If youre planning a lazy day lounging around Lake Merritt, they undoubtedly have the beer and snacks youll need to do it, and within walking distance to boot. Bring some friends, and dont forget ice!

Really good place to get your grocery shopping done! They have all sorts of food items there and other stuff thats not food. I would say that some of the stuff there are a little bit expensive but its all good! :)

Really scary location, thought I was going to be stabbed or otherwise assaulted. They have a whole separate checkout for liquor which was all behind a counter I guess it was a high theft area.

Easy and fast self check out. Outstanding reduced prices on meats for quick sale. I get a lot of my meats from this section. Not to be passed up. The employees are very respectful and kind.
