I love the Berkeley Whole Foods - despite the utterly ridiculous and agenda-based reviews herein, I find their pricing to be incredibly competitive, and they offer a large selection of locally made items. Every time Ive gone to this location the checkers have been very friendly and personable, and the stockers working the aisle have been knowledgeable about locations of items in the store. The produce is among the freshest Ive seen outside of a farmers market and their fresh prepared foods, while pricey, are delicious. Anyone complaining about the price of a ready-made meal needs to learn some perspective - it costs more because theres a process involved. Obviously. I highly recommend this store - they pack a lot of great stuff into a tiny location, and they deliver service with a smile.

Whole Foods is a really fun store to look through, and it has a pretty great selection. The biggest problem, in my opinion, is that a lot of its food can be very highly priced. Its perfect if youve got a lot of money, but if not, then most of the awesome looking food items will be out of your price range. That said, there are some really great deals to be had there, and a fair number of reasonably priced items as well. If it wasnt for Berkeley bowl, Id do all of my "fancy" shopping here.

Did you know whole foods is Texas based? Its not that I dislike the Lone State state, but I dont like having my $$ go there. The wholefoods concept in general is fine, but the Berkeley one, Telegraph/ashby..... Texas sized prices, attitudes, and pretentious treatment by runners up for the DMV, and Target.. Lame. If they didnt have a shampoo and soap I cant find anywhere else I wouldnt go here.. and now that its Amazon I think Ill just contact the manufacturer of said shampoo.

I dont normally shop here, preferring other locally owned stores. I recall when this location had a better selection of spices, and came because an internet post from a few years ago mentioned WF carried one of the particulars I was looking for. Alas, the spice section was well below par, didnt have what I needed, and was pretty minimal. At least parking was abundant at 7:45 at night.

Go to Andronicos or the Berkeley Bowl instead. Both have better food for less money, and both are local. Whole Foods is a giant, overpriced chain built for the sole purpose of sucking money out of us Berkeley types and destroying competition. Ill admit though...ill patronize them when Im out of state, their displays are immaculate, and they make, by far, the best supermarket sushi.

Did you know that Whole Foods practices religious discrimination? We have been told that our local store here in Berkeley, CA does not want our business anymore because we come into the store in dhoti, sari and tilak and we greet people with a friendly "Hare Krishna". Im hoping that my devotee friends will band together on this issue and stop shopping at Whole Foods. #wholefoods

I strongly disapprove of Whole Foods politics (as judged by their actions, not their words) and way of doing business. An example of the adage "Power corrupts". One extra star for the extremely kind staff, who are helpful and nice while putting up with company policies such as granting deeper health care discounts to employees with a more normative body mass index.

I found Whole Foods to be competitive with the alternative Berkeley Bowl. For dinner I had a roast beef sandwich made and ate it for both dinner and lunch the next day it was good size! Went back again and bought shrimp sushi major yum! Parking was easy and the selection was good. Staff was friendly Ill be going back.

very up scale friendly professional place I dont need to mention the cost as we all know, but if youre smart its surprising the deals you can find. Its corporate America with a bit of a neighbor feel. I can say that the quality of meals and shopping are always consistently high.

Everything sold is standard Whole Foods fare, but didnt appreciate the cashiers. The only thing they said to me was "hi" - spent most of the time flirting with the girl bagger... who was slooooowly bagging items. Go to Berkeley Bowl instead, if youre in this part of town.

Very expensive in general. A sixpack of beer I wanted to buy missed one bottle which was brought to my attention by the kind woman at the register. It was not possible to get a sixth bottle if though I paid for 6 bottles... I would recommend berkeley bowl, much better.

This WFM is one of the smallest that Ive ever been to. I come here for snack or drink when nearby. Their bakery section has small selection and hot food no better. On the plus side their coffee bar is located side of front entrance. They dont cash only CC/debit only.

Expensive, relatively small with a small parking lot. Convenient location, charging stations for EVs. Store arrangement is cramped and theres little choice of prepared foods compared with bigger locations. Few vegan organic options, which is bizarre for Berkeley...

This is the smallest Whole Foods in the area. The hot food bar is severely lacking compared to Gilman or Bay Place, and theres no indoor seating, only a few outdoor picnic tables. The prices are the same as the others though: too high.

Despite being the smallest Whole Foods in my area, I find this one is my favorite. Always great selections and they do a good job of keeping things stocked. Staff is also extremely friendly, and parking usually isnt a problem.

I went in here for a last minute stop before going to a birthday dinner. I got a good parking spot and there was a nice selection of ready-made small bouquets at very reasonable prices. The check out line was short and quick.

Great range of produce, meats, cheese and baked goods, and supplements but this chain is well known for having the highest markups in the business which is tough if you dont have any organic alternatives where you live.

I wonder how much money does one have to make in order to shop here on a regular basis. Bought four oranges, two crab cakes, few yogurts, and juice; my bill came up to almost $100. OVERPRIZED TO THE TENTH POWER!!!!

Ive been going here for years and have always found the service and selection to be of a very high quality. The salad bar is the main attraction for me and it is always fully stocked and super fresh.

If youre looking for something "crunchy granola" (some special kind of soy milk, rennet-free cheese, funky herbal remedies, etc.), this place probably has it, but at exorbitant prices.

Like any other Wholefoods. Located close by UC Berkley. Was vacationing here. Went to the closest store to but food to eat in the motel. Friendly service in every department.

Pros: Located on Telegraph so very accessible whether by AC Transit, bike, or car Not too crowded Hot/cold food buffet Cons: More expensive than surrounding grocery stores

Cant get over the price of food in this lovely store, but they often have things I cannot get elsewhere, and there burritos, salad bar, etc are lovely, if pricey
