This is one of the few remaining, smaller, non-superstore Safeways remaining in the Bay Area. So dont expect roomy aisles or the wide variety of items( food and non-food) that you may have come to expect at their larger stores. This does have a larger selection of Certified Organic products than most Safeways have, likely to attract locals away from Andronicos and Whole Foods. And thats a good thing. But the prices are higher here than at other Safeways nearby - I expect because their competition isnt other garden variety supermarkets, but the nearby Andronicos and Whole Foods - both of which are VERY expensive, so Safeway can charge more than their usual while still being somewhat cheaper than their nearby competition.

Terrible customer service. I got triple charged for sale items - first they double charged me, and then, when I tried to get it fixed, they swore they had refunded the double charge. They hadnt. All they had done was charge me AGAIN. I tried calling corporate customer service, and got no resolution there, either. Thankfully, there are enough grocery store options in this area that I never have to shop at Safeway again.

Nicer inside after they remodeled, better organized too. Some things still hard to find, like chips and similar snacks, which are all located on endcaps rather than having dedicated section in an aisle. Good fresh fruit and veggies for the most part. Carries most anything youll need, and it is a nice size store to shop around.

My favorite grocery store near me. Yes, I could goto T.J, Whole Food, Sprouts or Albertson, but I dont need an organic watermelon or banana... Nor do I want to use my whole paycheck on groceries. What I do need is large selections and a good variety of items. For these reasons, safeway is exactly what I need.

I go here when I dont want to trek all the way to Shattuck; the selection here isnt as vast but it works. The staff is more helpful here... it a shame that they scaled back the meats department so far but the selection isnt terrible. The produce is standard Safeway fare.

Small and dingy store on the outside. Still pretty small inside, but they keep it clean. It has most of what we need. The bike parking is much improved, and we can park in a protected space right near the door now, so that is great.

Its a Safeway. The store is laid out a bit weird compared to other places Ive been, but its a solid grocery store that doesnt charge you an arm and a leg for dubious benefit (unlike Whole Foods).

Your basic ALL-NIGHT grocery, with just about anything anyone could suddenly need at 4:00 AM. sometimes a little light on selections, its basically a giant all night convenience store.

I shop here mainly for cakes and a quick dinner pick up, the lines are normal and traffic jams are to be expected during peak hours. Friendly staff, clean store.
