I prefer to shop here late at night. They have a lot of deals/coupons to figure out so its nice not to be rushed or have nuances running about. 4 out of 5 stars due to a particular cashier whom enjoys stating loud enough for every one to hear various "enquiries" about your method of payment.. the first time.. ook reallyyy? I thought to myself but said nothing to him. The second time he asked -after the transaction had gone through/receipt nearly done printing.. I replied with a yes. followed by a.. how could you "not know" my method of payment. Mind you he had to type or hit a button telling the point of sale terminal exactly that in order for a receipt to even print.. I left that second time thinking ok by now extremely obvious that this employee for some efed off justification he has is obviously making it a point to let everyone in line know how I pay in hopes of it embarrassing me and to hurt me. Round 3.. Walking to the only Cashier open I had no other choice but to get into his line again. I thought well he knows most definitely by now how it is I pay coupled with the length of time he has been employed.. not a newbie but a long term employee now.. yet when it came out of his "oohh waaiit your paying with food stamps riight. .. " I had it right then with this bowl of fruit oh waaiit I ment with this guy I walked to the back warehouse and asked to speak with the manager whom promptly came out to see me. She was very nice. She understood what was going on with a quickness. She assured me it would never happen again followed with it shouldnt have happened in the first place. I wasnt even out of the store yet when I herd her over the intercom ask the cashier to come to her office as well as asking another to cover him. Her professional manner was uplifting and her kindness aloud me to walk out of the store not feeling embarrassed or degraded. As in the previous two times did. She is the reason for my star review without her Id have to have chosen one.

I have been shopping at our napa Safeway for many years, maybe because I no where to find everything Im shopping for and Ive come to no several of the employees like Pedro and Cynthiana who always have a smile and great work ethic. Good people. There are some things that are disturbing tho. Shoplifting, its far to easy there. Ive read about it and seen it occur with no action taken. Just last night I witnessed a young lady fill her large purse with liquor and before I could get any bodys attention she was out the door. What bothers me is as consumers, we have to make up for that loss with higher prices. I wish more could be done to detour shoplifting.

My go to spot .. only if Ive loaded my card up with those coupons. Its the only Safeway in Napa, since the earthquake the other one on Clay St. which was much smaller closed down. Hit or miss with stock items. Havent quite figured out when they restock but thats when it would be a good time. This location also has a Starbucks and a Bank located inside. Their selection of flowers can be better than Whole Foods. Produce is okay, sometimes stocked to capacity, mostly not though. Their bakery is okay too. Ordered maybe 2 cakes from them since Ive moved here about 4 years ago.

Im a regular shopper at the Marina Safeway in San Francisco, and Im just visiting Napa this week. One thing I wish I could take home with me is the Napa Safeway. Its bigger than the one in my neighborhood. The aisles are wider, so you bump into people less often, and it seems the selection is larger as well . The prices seem to be about the same. The parking lot is bigger. There are more stores nearby. Bottom line, whats not to like? (Perhaps Im just making a general case for moving to the suburbs here.)

Very crowded. Try to get there at a time when everyone else is not shopping for dinner. Perhaps 2 am after the bars close. They have a lot of baggers, but they seem to just like to stand around and talk to their friends while they watch you bag your own groceries. They seem to be foreigners. Im not sure they actually understand what "baggers" are supposed to do. It is possible, they dont have bags in the countries they come from, so maybe it is okay?

Wonderful place and usually has everything, but would love to see more wheelchairs and places to park for handicapped. A lot of people go in there because it is a wonderful place, but there needs to be more checkers and more baggers. Other than that it is a wonderful place to go

In the late/early hours (12am and a little after) it gets hard to maneuver through the isles from all the boxes and carts the employees carry for restocking, but thats there job. Its easy to go to the next isle to pass. Love the options and glad to be a club member.

My husband has shopped here. Everytime I have called them, they have Always been very rude and have huge additudes. If this was a smaller business, they wouldnt last just based off of staff alone. This place is only last resort.

Best value market in town. Others may be a little cheaper, but this is the best produce department in the North Bay. Always beautiful, always a wide selection, and always helpful staff!

Very expensive. Glad we had a club card because we would have paid much more for Christmas Eve breakfast. My son lives in Napa and he said it is an expensive supermarket.

Its just ok because it appears that Safeway doesnt care much about making it better. The store is often messy and the lines at the registers are brutal.
