I am never shopping Safeway again. In recent months it has become the most expensive food store in the area; an area that includes Whole Foods. The selection is dismal. But the final straw in my decision to never shop at Safeway again is the snotty service this evening. At 10:50pm I wanted to check out with my cart full of items. As I approached the only open check out, the woman shut off the light and walked away. I caught up to her and asked if I could check out. "No, its time for 11:00pm cash out. You will have to wait until 11:15." I pointed out it was not yet 11:00. She shrugged and walked away again. I left my full cart where it was, left the store and Im never shopping at Safeway again.

I feel like the layout of the store needs improvement. Specifically the meat and dairy sections. They have lunch meat and bacon, etc. in an aisle on one side of the store and on the complete other side of the store is an aisle with cheese, yogurt, sour cream, etc. Both aisles feel awkwardly detached from the packaged meat, fish, milk and cream that run across the back of the store that can easily be missed because they dont extend as far as the neighboring aisle. They DO have a small square display right next the milk with some fancy cheeses, which only serves to distract and confuse an individual as to where the "actual cheese" is located. Worst Safeway store layout in town.

Most of the bad reviews are lies, seeing as this Safeway bends over backwards to make people happy. Every store has long lines if it is popular which this one definitely is. I have yet to see an employee here treat a customer un-courteously other than under extreme circumstances where the customer was being rude and impatient for no good reason. Also every day but Saturday they do a computer reset somewhere between 10:45 and 11:00 PM, so dont show up in that time frame if you dont want to wait a few minutes.

I am disgusted with this Safeway and will now shop elsewhere. The security guard found a mans shirt offensive because it was protesting Westboro Baptist. Safeway endorses hate speech. They are fine with funerals of dead soldiers being protested but no one better protest the protesters! Hatemongers is what Safeway is. I also hate that their parking lot is always crowded, lines are long and workers are more interested in each other than the customers. No more Safeway for me!

Safeway stores have become mouthpieces for corporate ttreating their customers like consumers only. Their policies of advertizing by trying to sell us more than we came in to buy is disgusting. Cant wait til Whole Foods opens, bye, bye Safeway. This could be remidied by returning to thier older policies of being available when customers ask for help and not by imposing thier aftificial spin of friendliness. Its clearly rote and meaningless. Do not buy the cooked Sonoma county fresh crabs which are on sale today 12/4/16. We spent $40 for 2 crabs and they tasted like they were cooked in ammonia didnt even smell like a crab. Our disappointed dinner guests refused to eat it. The meat dept guy "Vince" was polite and assured us a full refund. He even offered to drive us new crabs, but I said we lived over 7 miles from the store. Merry Christmas and yes I will return.

I ran in to try and buy a few things. I was working out of town, and wanted to pick up some food, since I dont like to always eat out. Nope. There were 2 open registers, and an insane amount of people in both lines The lines for the you scans,were wrapped around to the other side of the registers (40- feet)+/- . So I went in. And wasted time, just to walk back out. I wont be returning when I come back out in this area.

Been a club member my whole life (from my parents) and the club prices sure do make me happy as a poor college student. I normally go grocery shopping at night and I still get really great customer service when I need it. I went once during the afternoon and it was a zoo, so I imagine the customer service goes down due to high volume, but when can you do. This is the only place I get groceries from and i love it.

The butchers at the Safeway on Mendocino Ave. are rude and unprofessional. They would not come over to the people waiting for assistance and when they finally did, they were clearly irritated that I asked a question while they were cleaning up. Not an ounce of thought for customers. Their customer service skills and attitude could hardly be worse. I will not be going there in the future.

Ive been shopping this particular Safeway for over 15 years. I know a lot of the faces of those who work there. And while they may not know my name, they at least now my face. Theyve bent over backwards to help me out when a problem or an issue arises. There is one Safeway a little closer, but Id rather stay with the one that will a bit more to get my businesses lk

The service absolutely sucks. Safeway has one register open while the lines back up down the aisles. I can spend my money at Whole Foods where I can get in and out of there. After I complained the manager told me that I should go to the self check out aisle. The machine didnt work. I calmly put my basket down and left. Safeway, youve lost a customer.

I have been in this safeway several times and each time it was a bad experience. Long lines, crowded, and they are constantly playing announcements and advertising. Very uncomfortable. And the parking is awful - very crowded, narrow and with the large amount of foot traffic it makes it even worse. Not a good location.

This store is ok. Been shopping here for over 10 years, and have seen a steady down turn since Albertsons bought them out. Crowded aisles, longer wait times at check out and parking is a nightmare. They still have a few of my favorite, fast and knowledgeable employees, so thats a plus.

This store has a deli and they carry a wide variety of pasta salads, lunch meat, soups, cheeses, and salads. I was able to find everything I needed on my shopping list for my road trip. Check out was fast and friendly. Food prices are fair. Bathroom could use a remodel, though.

A decent sized grocery store with a good selection of items. I stopped going to the deli over a year ago after several bad sandwhiches and bad attitudes from the workers. In general, prices keep going up-I guess they are trying to compete with Whole Food in that regard.

Check stands have long lines during the busiest times, including the self-checkout. The new self check out software is miserable and time-consuming. There is help if needed but it seems like it would be faster if she would just check us all out.

Great store. It started as a "life style" proto type. But over the last few years its been changed to a normal one with an odd lay out. Staff there is nice warm and kind. The even normally have enough lanes open that you can get through quickly.

The homeless hang out in front of the store, and use the restrooms, which are disgusting. There are never enough checkers, and so there is ALWAYS a line to checkout. Id rather drive further away and go to Pacific Market or the Safeway on 4th.
