DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! Ikea is NOT the store they claim to be and need to re-think customer service, floor service and assistance needs!!! Purchased a FULL kitchen of cabinets, a cook top, cabinets for two baths, and bookcases for a library, all to be delivered. Delivery was set up for a FOUR hour (2PM-6PM) window of time which no one ever discussed with us. At the time of delivery, the two guys on the truck finally arrived at about 3:15pm, and only ONE guy helped to off load the product, which meant both myself and my husband had to help off load...there was no truck lift and no pallet mover! Each box had to be moved from the truck end and walked into a room at the job site and these were mostly very heavy boxes. TWO pallets inside the truck of product were stacked upon each other and some of the boxes had fallen off the palettes, making a whole lot of damaged boxes and product! The one guy practically threw the boxes into the room and there was no time to count boxes or check the delivery for any missing items. When it came time to sign for the two orders, we did indicating that issues and I asked if ALL the products had been off loaded, and he said "Yes". An hour or so later, we received a call stating that they had forgotten to deliver several boxes and would meet us at the job site...when we arrived 10 minutes later, they had already off loaded the forgotten boxes and left them unsecured and unsafe on a patio...which means they had called us AFTER they off loaded the forgotten boxes. I tried calling Ikea and the call center and the store and our contact...HAHA, I had to wait on the phone for 38 minutes before JEFF picked up the phone and he was in Baltimore, Maryland. He was RUDE and completely UNCARING...then I called the call center and NICOLE was just as THOUGHTLESS. Of course I asked for a Store Manager and the # to the Covina Store but each time I was told that they could not provide me with this information. I asked for a refund of the delivery fee and was told by Nicole that she would open up a case and investigate by contacting the delivery company. Again, HAHA, do you think the delivery company will be truthful? We are nice people and even tipped the driver! But Nicole even said that we should have NOT had to help off load the delivery...I USED to be a hugh fan of Ikea, I am no longer. Please be advised if you have an issue, there is no REAL Customer Service and you will not be able to discuss your issues with anyone in authority, so there is NO RESOLVE. ***YOU CAN ONLY POST IF YOU CHOSE A STAR, SO I HAD TO CHOSE ONE STAR. THIS KIND OF SERVICE IS LESS THAN ZERO. signed a very unhappy customer

Excellent IKEA with a great selection of furniture and housewares. The showroom is designed so there is one long path taking you through all sections, so the experience is as much a "tour" as "shopping" (shortcuts are strategically located). Larger products are selected upstairs and retrieved by you from shelves at the warehouse at the end - just look at the tag for aisle and bin number. Smaller goods are just grabbed from the showroom. You can literally furnish a house from floor to rafters with their selection. Staff are attentive at the checkout/front section, but less so when you are looking through the showroom - its usually hard to find a staff member and they tend to be busy when you do. Excellent place for lunch. The counter at the front carries hot dogs and pizza, but you are better rewarded to go upstairs to the cafeteria. Order the Swedish meatball combo, add garlic toast or chocolate cake, and dont be afraid to bring the kids - there are plenty of child-friendly menu choices there. A word on their products: 1) these are flat-pack do-it-yourself products. An enterprising buyer with low/moderate tool skills, patience, and the ability to follow graphical instructions will do just fine. 2) bring a van or truck if you can get one. Their delivery prices are somewhat high, and most of their larger pieces are inconvenient to fit in a sedan. 3) certain products are well made and long-lasting, such as rugs, glasses, shelving and cabinets. Others, such as knives, seem to rust when you look at them. The rule of thumb is: "if it feels flimsy and poorly made, it probably is." 4) their couches are extremely uncomfortable - European tastes are not for everyone. Try before you buy.

Never believe they have something in stock judging by the website. And never believe their management. They are thieves and liars. I had to check if some ikeas have white arholma back cushions because my nearest Costa Mesa store didt have them in stock. So Ive seen 200+ of them in Covina store and drove 1hr one way to this location. I needed only 3 so 200+ leaves you a good chance they will be in stock once you arrive. I was really surprised to know they are in stock but not available to buy because they are "in the air", somewhere they cant get them from. I told them to get them as advertised, they declined. But some lady appeared to be the manager offered to ship them free of charge once they pull them down. I agreed, gave them the home address and payed the order. I was promised the order will be shipped in two weeks. Its 6 weeks passed. I called ikea and had to stay on the line for 38 minutes to get to know that they lied about the shipping and I have to drive another 2 hours roundtrip to pick them up myself. More than that they insist I havent even pay for them, which is silly since I got them in my receipt. So they stolen my money, stolen my time and stolen another 38 minutes + time to write this review. Avoid this store! Ive been a Ikea customer for 15+ years (mostly in Europe) and I promise I will never buy from ikea ever again except of this three back cushions Ill have to buy from Costa Mesa store after 6 week wait.

IKEA certainly isnt as convenient as Walmart, thats for sure. Want something they have at your local Walmart ready for you on your arrival? Go online, make sure item you want is at your store in stock, pay for it, and go pick it up! SIMPLE! Delivery charges must be a big seller, because when I decided to purchase a bedroom set for my daughter who is in college in San Bernardino, and the IKEA Covina Home Furnishing store had 4 of the bedroom suites my daughter wanted in stock, but if you make the purchase online, delivery is your only option! The IKEA personnel in Covina said the bedroom suite HAS to be purchased in person, and the items, if bought online, HAS to be delivered; My daughter CANT just pick it up, it HAS to come from a central warehouse. No big deal, I can simply deposit the $1100 in her account and she can then pay for it locally and pick it up that way, but I dont have $1100 laying around as I was hoping to use a CC for the purchase. The bedroom set was in stock and apparently IKEA has a policy that, if one buys online, delivery is the only option available, at least, in Covina. IKEA, this is 2017...you have a system online that TELLS US you have the items we want IN what stores...Why cant we make the online purchase, and then simply just go pick it up? Doesnt make sense to me, but, I guess Sears liked my money better. OH, and I purchased online...and my daughter picked it up today...How convenient!
