If I can choose 0 star, I will. Be careful! My credit card was charged a $99+ bill after I ate the breakfast at fast food court and bought some grocery. I asked my credit card company to dispute this billing error. They provide my credit card company a signed sales slip. The signature is clearly not mine. The accounting department lady working there said the transaction was weired since the checker #25 belongs to cooked Cantonese food (besides the fast food court) and rarely had such a big transaction. However, I can only ask my credit card issue banker talk to them. The problem is, the manager refused to take any responsibility even though I showed them my signatures on the card and my driver license. Also, without help, nobody can make such a fake transaction. I definitely doubt their honesty. update: finally, I got my money back. it took three months for my credit card bank to settle it. I am curious what its manager would say when he knows the result. anyway, good luck.

Yes, this an Asian grocery store. It has a huge produce area, there is fresh meat and seafood counter. They sell live fish and shellfish in tanks. They even have a hot deli and bakery departments. But this store is not bright inside (the middle of store tends to be dimly light), freezing in the back of the store when its cold outside (99 Ranch does not believe in turning on the heat), and today there was a strong odorous cleaning product smell in the meat area and inside the glass meat counter cases were dirty. I saw large smeared greasy stains throughout the glass meat cases.

Its an asian grocery store, and its pretty typical for the larger asian groceries. I like it. Its a great place to buy spices, curry, whole fish, meat, candy, cheap rice cookers, rice, tea - all the necessities of life. Its not such a great place to find cheese, bread or hotdogs. If you live nearby and want to walk to the grocery, get used to Chinese convenience foods and youll be good. If youve got kids who insist on cheesy mac, youll need to pile into the econobox and go somewhere else.

Yeeeeehaw! Love this place. You can get really good salmon sashimi for rock bottom prices. For real. Really affordable meats, fish, and produce. The produce tends to be smaller than Safeway produce, which I assume is how they get it cheaper.... the runts of the litter. But the price value ratio is top notch. Love this store. But they dont have everything. So sometimes I need to hit Safeway on the way home for particular staples or whatnot.

99 Ranch is your one-stop shop for food and everyday items. The groceries are fresh and reasonably priced. Most of the greens are pre-packaged. Theres a wide selection of soy-based products, tofu, soy milk, etc. Theres a hot deli section where you can get take-outs for lower-than-restaurant prices. I took 1 star off because the bakery was really disappointing, definitely not representative of a typical Chinese/Taiwanese bakery.

As with other stores of this chain, decent fresh produce at very reasonable prices (although none organic), good choice of meets, and excellent offer of fish and seafood, both fresh and frozen. The hot meal counter is also worth a visit, although other sites (such that in Daly City) offer more variety. The bakery products are of good quality, too. Easy parking makes a quick trip to this store convenient.

they charge my mother twice in a same order. they are cheating old people who cant speak English.

A lot of fresh vegetable and fruit choices, along with a large selection of Asian grocery items. With $30+ purchase, you get two, $1 coupons (then $1 coupon per additional $15 purchase over the initial $30 amount) good toward hot-food bar meals or bakery items. I usually put my coupon bucks toward a single-serving cheesecake, two pastries, or a self-serve savory, meal combo.

Favorite asian grocery store! They reward you with $1 coupon off their hot deli section for every $30 spend. Never fail to pack hot yummy chinese food home. Best part is that it has a nice chinese restaurant and a korean restaurant right next door, making it a perfect place to grab a meal plus groceries!

I like going there for dimsums on weekends, they carry a good variety, including siewmais, hargaos and lots of vegetarian dumplings. They are great value for money at 80c each, but can be a bit lukewarm. Highly recommend the steaming hot charsiewpaos. Weekends are a good time for free samples.

If your looking for great customer service, this is not the place. The customers that dont speak their language or look like them get serviced last. If you want to be treated equally and as if you are a human being I suggest choosing another market to give your money to.

This Ranch is terrible. It sells expired products all the time. Some produce was not fresh. The worst was the seafood department. No one cares to get what you want. You have three workers who just chill there. Low quality products overall. Very disappointed.

This is my favorite Asian grocery on the peninsula because it is the cleanest and most organized. They sell a great brand of high fiber medium grain brown rice here, called Asian Taste, that you cant get anywhere else. It does not taste like cardboard!

U can get fish dish @ the takeout section. My elderly mother had an ongoing feud over how much food she can stuff in the take out box. Now no more attitude. U can put as much as U want in it and then some, after U pay for it. Will be back.

Best place in San Mateo and Foster City area for fresh and affordable meat/seafood/poultry. The only thing weve gotten that wasnt as good were the scallops, but everything had been good outside of that. Great prices for fresh salmon!

Chain Asian Supermarket. Not much to say here. Dont go there to buy white people food (always check the dates on products if you do). Has a decent selection of fruit/vegetables as well as "live" fish.

Solid Chinese grocery store. Wont have all the nuances of other Asian cuisines but carries all the Chinese ingredients. People are fairly nice and its never been super crowded when Ive visited.

Clean and organized. Large with good selection. Not too many checkout lanes, but Ive never had to wait long to checkout. In a small strip mall with other places worth spending money at.

Much nicer than other Ranch 99s Ive been to, but items were hard to find and the inside was FREEZING to the point I had to cut my shopping trip short. Parking was easy.

My go-to grocery chain for Chinese products. Perfect for buying hot pot sauces and sliced meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, dry items (beans, noodles), and pastries.

If you want East Asian groceries this is the biggest I have ever seen. Its the size of a regular Safeway and virtually everything is Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.

Its a cluttered mess in there, but you can find some really good asian ingredients and condiments on the cheap. Dont expect a polished super market experience...
