Great little place. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often, but I still make it by enough to be a somewhat regular, and Ive never had anything but positive experiences. In addition to a great selection of food products, they also have gifts, tableware, beauty products, etc. (in the last category, if youre a fan of sheet masks, try the LuLuLun brand--theyre fantastic). The staff is always friendly and attentive. If youre unable to read Japanese language and concerned that will be an issue in regard to packaging and so forth, no need to worry--just ask the staff for help. I was there once to buy ingredients for a Japanese meal and having trouble figuring out what to get when it came to items Id never cooked with before. The very helpful clerk just took a look at my recipe and helped me find exactly what I needed, and even gave me tips on how to work with the unfamiliar ingredients. The frozen foods section has a great variety, but check out the desserts in particular. Mochi, dango, taiyaki, all very good. Theres also a nice selection of drinks in the refrigerated section. If youre a fan of ramune, you can get your fix, and the Pokka milk coffee is awesome. Even if you dont like Japanese food, pay a visit to Minnano anyway and give some foods a try, and also check out the non-food merchandise.

I come here as often as i can to stock up on my Pantry supplies. The have a great selection of Tofu (Friday is delivery day) as well as everything you could hope for in a Japanese market this far in to Texas. I have always been treated very respectfully as well as kindly by everyone who works here so I am surprised about what I read in the previous review by Gem. But because she resorted to name calling and racial slurs I will assume she has issues she is trying to overcome. I would strongly suggest stopping by if you already enjoy cooking Japanese or Asian foods, or if you have ever wanted to try to. If you buy nothing else, pick up a pack of frozen Yakisoba noodles, toss em up with a pile of vegetables and claim you spent hours slaving over the stove, to your highly impressed family.

Recently I have been cooking and enjoying Japanese food! I have found only two focused Japanese grocery store in SA. Minnano and Tokyo Mart both have been wonderful, simple and easy to shop in. Shopping in this small grocery store is comfortable and adventurous, and beats the craziness and chaos of looking for something to make like in larger grocery stores. I must say that both owners of Minnano and Tokyo Mart are extremely kind. Yet Tokyo Mart did make me laugh when I was asked if I was Japanese or married to a Japanese man; however, unfortunately neither applied to me but I am young Latina that loves flavorful and healthy food! If you are like me, a person that loves food and Japanese cultural, highly recommend either place! <3

I was looking to make a particular dish last week and needed a specialty store for some of the cant-get-at-HEB items. Instead of driving 40 minutes to my usual Asian market, my boyfriend told me to see if there was anything closer to us and lo! and behold, I found Minnano! This store blew me away! They have such an excellent selection to choose from and its not just food stuffs! They have gift options, dinner ware, body care, makeup, and more! The staff were very helpful and patient with me (even when I butchered the pronunciation of a certain ingredient I needed!) If you need Japanese anything, youll most likely find it here. Definitely worth a drop in, even if you just want to pop in to see whats available.

This place has EVERYTHING!! My husband needed ingredients to prepare a proper ramen soup. We checked several stores for a couple of ingredients and could not find it. We almost settled for buying online, but I saw this location on Google Maps and decided to try it. This place had everything he needed and more! They have all the latest Japanese snacks, candies, cookies, groceries, dishes, toiletries, and more! The staff was amazingly friendly. They greet you with a smile at the door. They were always right there offering assistance at the moment you needed them. This place is pretty small, but very clean, bright, and organized. They must be master Tetris players because they fit SO MUCH into this tiny area.

I go here with my boyfriend every other weekend or so. NEVER dissatisfied with ANYTHING I get from this store. The staff are so so sweet! My first time going there one of the women got a shopping basket for me and when I went up to the register to pay for my things one of them offered to go and get me a cold drink from the fridge since I had gotten a warm one from the shelf! Youd never find staff so eager to take care of their customers like this anywhere else! Best customer service Ive EVER had at ANY store in my life! Very wide selection ranging from beauty products, to cooking utensils, to food! The price can run a bit high but, take it from a poor college student, it is DEFINITELY worth it.

One of my favorite places to go shopping! Although the store is quite small, they do have a good selection of the essentials. The staff here are always the friendliest people in the world as well; they all say hello when you enter and goodbye when you leave (in Japanese of course) from wherever they are in the store. My only gripe would maybe be that I wish they had a larger selection of food. About half the store is household items, beauty products, and other knickknacks, but its such a small complaint, as Ive even bought some of their cute Totoro merchandise! I dont do much Japanese cooking, but its always a joy coming here when I need some ingredients.

Really good selection of Japanese snacks, prepared foods, fresh ingredients, candies, and household goods/ beauty products. They have sales on items and offer cheaper prices on buying more than one or bulk of certain items. Prices are fairly low, much cheaper than any online stores that carry imported goods that Ive seen. If youre not fluent in Japanese, most items have descriptions written in English on them. Others are pretty straightforward and have easy to understand pictures on them. Staff is super friendly too! If you arent sure what something is theyre happy to answer. They take cash and card, though you have to spend at least $10 to pay with card.

This is the most amazing little store I have ever been to! It is jammed pack full of awesome stuff from Japan without feeling cluttered or unorganized. I usually visit at least once a month and try a different snack or Pocky, grab a few Ramune, and try not to drool on the adorable Totoro (Ghibli brand) and Rilakkuma (San-X brand) plushies. And today I finally got a big Totoro plushie for probably the best deal Ive seen compared to Amazon and anime conventions. Half the store is full of Japanese food that I wish I knew how to cook or even what it is! Youll walk outta here happy (and poorer) if you are an anime nerd or a huge fan of Japan.

My favorite store in Texas is the Minnano Japanese Grocery store! I just got stuff on march 5th and loved it! they have very nice owners that are from JAPAN!!! (*u*") and they have very very very delicous food too! some things there are a little expencive but its because it takes alot of money to ship it here not because they wanna rip you off. Anyways if you want to go grocery shopping and if youre in the mood to eat japanese food shop here because its the best grocery store in America! <(^w^)>
