The service at the Apple Store is terrible. The personal is careless and unprofessional. I went there to order a computer for my girlfriend. Since I wanted a special setting and I was about to leave the country, I ordered it ahead of time, expecting some days to have it. I talked to a lady who took all the info about the computer, all my contact info and told me it would take about a week to have it. I said "Good, Ill come back in a week then!". I still had two weeks before leaving, so I left perfectly happy. Later I went again to the store to ask if I could pay with a certain credit card. They said there was no problem. Again, I left perfectly happy. After a week I receive a phone call from a guy asking if I still wanted the computer. Kind of surprised, I said I thought he was calling me to say the computer was arrived. "Oh no" he said "We havent sent out the order yet, you need to pay first". And that sounded a little more than surprising. Nobody cared to explain me that I had to pay before they bothered to order the computer! Kind of pissed I asked him if there was enough time to have it before I was leaving. He said he was unsure and he would call me back. I didnt receive any second phone call and I didnt find out there was no time until I went there in person, where the lady apologized by saying "Oh, Im sorry, maybe we should have been clearer about the fact that we hadnt order it". Yes, maybe.

The people who work here are nice, but its overpriced. Furthermore, the last time I went, no customers were allowed into the actual store. The staff had to stop us in the lobby, write down the book we were looking for, and then go retrieve it for us. They were personable and efficient given their task, but a line grew and customers waited very long. Seeing as the store had cut their staff to a minimum (a couple people were manning the whole store, since the operators clearly werent worried about long waits for customers, and theft wasnt a concern since the customers werent allowed near the merchandise) youd think at least they could stay open until, say, 7 or 8pm. After all, this UIC is a commuting school. Nope. Until 6pm Monday and Thursday, 5pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 2pm on Saturday and closed on Sunday. So, good luck trying to shop here if you have a job. (Google Pluss posted hours are incorrect for this store, I learned the hard way.) Professors, PLEASE let your students know the publisher, edition and date of the texts youll be using in class, so that we may buy our books elsewhere without getting lost when you ask us to turn to this or that page (due to different editions).

I went to return a book at the bookstore. I lost the receipt and explained to them that I called before asking if it was possible to return the book without a receipt because I used my i-Card. The person on the phone explained to me that my i-Card has a record of my purchases. After I explained my situation, the cashier just rolled her eyes took my i-Card to have reprint a copy of the transaction. Then she went to her co-worker who was working next to her and calling the students stupid for not having their receipt and how students should be charge a fee for not having a receipt. I was able to get a refund for the book that I did not need because the teacher wanted the class to get an earlier edition of the book. I have never been disgusted by customer service especially by bitter old women working at a University Bookstore. Completely unsatisfied with the professionalism of the staff at the bookstore. Never in my life have I ever come across a bookstore whose staff has attitude and such hate for the student population at UIC. Not happy at all with todays customer service at the store

Recently remodeled for a brand new tech section. Very spacious, although expensive for most "UIC" branded products such as sweatshirts. Technology is priced around what you could find anywhere else, usually as expensive or more so than Amazon prices. Most staff are students. Would recommend for anyone needing to buy a quick replacement or supplies for school, but there are better prices and selections online.

I dont shop here anymore (especially after finding out I can save alot more money purchasing textbooks elsewhere ) but the only issue I had was the price of the books; obviously cost way too much for most.

Standard book store (books are expensive but there is also a rent option). What they sell non-book wise is really good, wish there was more school supply variety offered
