Visited the store today to purchase a magazine, (2 actually) that i need for a magazine project. After looking around the store for a few minutes i decided to ask 2 people at a desk if they had the magazine i was searching for. They looked up the magazine and said they did not have that magazine and no store in Chicago had it, I explained to them that i had seen the magazine for sale online and they replied by saying we are a "school store, we do not carry everything that is online". I said ok.. then could you point me to your magazine section and they did. i walked over to the magazine stand and what do you know they had the 2 issues i was looking for. I graved them and took them to them and showed them to the two of the workers, they just scratched their heads and said "oh we have them oh". Now that i am writing this i feel like if i was being discriminated against, the way they talked to me and the false information they gave me just feels that way as is the fact that there are no color workers and if there are any they are working in the back or in the Starbucks that is inside this location. Will not be stepping in this place again despite the fact that ive been Barnes and Noble costumer for over 5 years and probably one of the only nook users still around.

I called the number to find out if this is a real Barnes & Noble retailer or just a the "Barnes & Noble College store". After a minute of ringing I reached the voice mail either "they are helping another customer or closed." Quite possibility the least helpful voice mail Ive ever heard. Smaller independently owned books store have much better customer service. Normally I would go there instead but I have this stupid gift card. Maybe Ill just cut my losses.
