Its a good place to have a coffee and read something, they have snacks just like any coffee place and of course books also. If you want to go study dont waste your time , go to a panera or another library. There ARE NOT ANY PLUGS for your device AT ALL. if you want to study for a while, do not bother going there. Un less you bring your own powe bank supply. You would think because its the computer era and many people have one, they would be available in a place where they promote for you to go and study. There was one and even that one was covered, make this available for people that like to go to barnes and noble, I prefer to go somewhere farther that has a basic, miniscule option to.plug your device in case you are there for long. The environment its set to study, I rather not go there to study because coffee or books I can buy somewhere else.

This store is, by far, the worst Barnes & Noble store in the area. The staff vacillates between being either rude or incompetent (clueless!) with their customers. On each unfortunate occasion that I have been in this bookstore, my recurring thought has been to ponder when this company, or at least this particular store, will suffer the same fate as Borders Books and Music. I would rather drive a farther distance to Evanston in order to avoid this store in Chicago. However, my preference would be to shop at the used bookstore (After-Words in River North or Shake, Rattle, & Read in Uptown) instead of at this nightmare that makes illiteracy seem tolerable.

This a pretty nice Barnes & Noble store in the DePaul area. Ive always found the staff very helpful when trying to find specific books or need recommendations for something new. I rarely see an empty seat in the cafe, but when Ive found one, I do like sitting there with a new book and some coffee (especially in the winter). I think my only slight complaint would be that the sidewalk right outside their store is incredibly slippery in the winter. Ive fallen a few times outside their store, and I wish they used more sand/salt.

We mainly visit here with our young kids to buy books and gifts and just relax and play. They have a gigantic kids area with a train table, Lego table, obviously tons of books, and a wide selection of somewhat educational toys perfect for birthday gifts. The cafe is typical for BN and has large windows so its bright with natural light. Across the street is a Potbelly and nationally renowned pizza place Pequods so good lunch options abound.

This is a really good book store if you read a lot of mysteries and science fiction. They have pretty good large selection of used paper backs which are half off the cover prices. This means youll end up paying a buck or two for a lot of good older books. Other stores say half off but have a minimum price but not here, half off is half off.I also like history and lit selections too but I end up getting more mystery and sci-fi here.

The Childrens area on the 2nd floor is very cozy, families read there for hours together. Directly across the store past the stairway from it, you can grab a cup of coffee and a snack from the Starbucks cafe. Toys, crafts and games are on the north wall. Taken together these three walls make it a favorite place for my 7 year old to ask to visit and just hang out and read. Sometimes we buy, sometimes we dont, no pressure.

Love coming here whenever I need to get a book or when or little girl wants to check out whats new for a young reader. I feel relaxed while there and never feel pressured to buy anything while there. This is the first time I went and didnt buy anything but I usually get quite a few books when we go. Been coming here for quite a few years and I plan to continue coming for years to come.

When I need a book for school and provide the ISBN or what not and they have it in stock the staff kindly answer and put it on hold. If I dont the store will conveniently ship it within a few business days which is fantastic and I never have trouble obtaining the books I need. I also love the layout of the store and the feel. Everything is easy to find and look at stuff.

Its a nice Barnes & Noble! While I still miss Borders, it will do. I particularly like the growing expansion of the toys and board games areas of the store. The cafe area is nice, coffee and pastries standard Starbucks stuff, but tasty. There is free wi-fi. However, cafe loafer beware, as of this review there are no power outlets in the cafe area!

I went to Barnes and Noble to buy books for my classroom today. Whitney helped me find all of the books that I needed and the manager, Catherine, helped finalize my order and receive a discount of which I was previously unaware. Thanks for all of your help ladies! Ill definitely be buying more books from your establishment in the future!

Cool place, multi level lots of books to keep you busy for hours. The staff is friendly and the place is laid out beautifully. They have books, magazines, and nick nack stuff that readers ike. We shop here once a month as my wife loves reading and loves getting new books. Close to theatre, and other shopping. Great neighborhood too!

Im always so very pleased when employs are very nice people. This place is incredibly big and has a pretty great selection. The employs are fabulous. The only complaint I really have is the check out counter is somewhat oddly placed and it gets very scrunched up over there. No big deal at all really.

This place is huge, but its not neccesarily a specialty bookstore. Some things I wanted to find werent in stock. Im sure ninety percent of what youd want to find is going to be in stock. but you might want to call first, and save the trip, and have them order it for you - which theyll gladly do.

Beautiful B&N. The parking lot is annoying but they make it very simple to validate on your own at the door. The overall layout is welcoming and easy to navigate despite being so large and there is a nice Starbucks on the second floor. One of my favorite B&Ns in the area.

Electric plugs in the cafe has been sealed shut, even though they are there because required by codes. Nearby plugs are marked not for public use. Never seen this in a Barnes & Noble elsewhere, quite obnoxious when you come in looking to charge your phone.

I really like this B&N because of its size and their parking, but gosh- their cafe side is freezing cold!! I went in 2nd week of November, and I am pretty sure it was colder inside than the outside. If you plan on staying there, bring a hat and a scarf!
