I used to be a huge fan of Cheese Traders but lately I havent been able to score as many deals. I realize that you cant run a business by giving everything away, but you cant call yourself an outlet and sell things for more than the normal grocery stores. I buy Barilla pasta for $1.59 at Price Chopper but found it in the "bent and dent" section of CT for $2.99. Also, the Cabot Cheddar shake is now priced at $5.99 at CT but I saw it at City Market for $4.69. And City Market gets a bad reputation for being overpriced.

I love this store. You have to be a savvy shopper, some things are priced above the prices you can get at a regular grocer, but when there are deals, man those deals are amazing. Its not just wine and cheese, its overstocked items and out of date things that are still fine. You will find products here not even available in local stores. From regional product tests and the like. Its an adventure for people who like to try new and different products.

Cheese Traders has changed ownership. I miss the real deals on wine. Like bottles of Penguin for $1.99 each. Cheese prices are still low and the selection of wines is still incredible. But since ownership changed over a year ago, I find the wine deals just arent as low and I miss the occasional beer case specials. I still remember stocking up on a lite beer from a brewer in Mass. that was new to me at $7.99 a case. I really miss those deals!

Love all the great deals and the cool "free air" freezer. I bought organic 1/2 and 1/2 for 50 cents, cheddar for less than $2 per pound and two big bags of Kettle chips for 97 cents (not each). But the thing that impressed me most was the outside air intake they had for their freezer, they were saving energy (and money) by cooling the freezer with the cold Vermont air. Ive been wanting to do that with my home freezer, and they did it!!!

Closeout wine and cheese and various other food products. Other significant selections in chocolate, coffee, and hot sauces. Many good deals on floor display products. Much of the stocked merchandise is overpriced. Cheap wine and cheese and other perishable products should be consumed immediately as they are often on the verge of going bad. Good place to buy bulk cheese and wine for parties.

I have been shopping at the Cheese Trader for decades. The new owners have increased the prices way to much. I too realize you cant run a business to give merchandise away, however dont claim to be a cheese and wine OUTLET. Even the organic SECONDS are higher. Not good news. I will just have to shop with a different kind of outlook. Buy less often. Thank you for letting me air my differences.

Cheese and Wine Traders always has the best prices and best selection. They have the best sales bi-annual sales for wine and grocery selection and I have never been disappointed when visiting Cheese & Wine Traders!! Always worth a visit, especially if youre visiting and just want to grab a great bottle of wine and some delicious Vermont cheese.

Funky, kitschy Vermont store thats become a good reason to go out of the way on the way home. Bulk and packaged items galore. Drinks, snacks, and the CHEESE!! Holy moly, the everything bagel spread is so good! Cheese curds, blocks or bars, chunks, fancy, French, goats milk, and good ole sharp cheddar - they have it all.

Boy do I miss Steve & Nancy! Gone are the days of great wine deals and customer service to all - not just those who are buying the expensive case of wine. I have bought 2 food items lately and both were out of date and spoiled. Some salespeople are rude and not the customer service there once was.

Found this store while visiting Burlington Vt in mid-Summer (2016). A great place--especially for their wide range of cheeses (at good prices). Also many other interesting items. Something like Trader Joes when it started out.

huge selection on wines and they will always order something for you if you cant find it. They also sell cheese ends at an inexpensive rate. I love coming during the garage sale every summer to stock up.

FANTASTIC shop! My only regret is that I discovered it the last weekend we were in Burlington for UVM graduation - AND - that the online store is clearly not set up yet! If it were, Id be ordering!

They have an enormous wine selection, great cheeses, and low prices on some items that would be 3-4x more expensive other places. Minus the occasional spoiled product, Cheese Traders is terrific.
