I stumbled across these reviews after doing a search for my local safeway. I must say, in light of the poor remarks expressed about this safeway location, I enjoy the service, quality and appeal of my local safeway. There have been about 8 employees throughout the 4 years Ive lived near this Safeway that have been outstanding. Ive received a pleasant smile, courteous service and the store has always been immaculate, maintaining the Safeway standard as far as I could see. This does not take away from the negative reports that have been announced herein. Surely these reports should be taken into consideration, being that no one is perfect, except God, but let it not be the driving force behind our visits to this Safeway. If you make this the driving for your visits to Safeway than you will miss out on the great customer service that exists at this location and the fact that they are people like you and me. It is not only the responsibility of the workers to make for a pleasant establishment. The responsibility lies upon the customers as well. Ive seen some amazing businesses that had everything it needed to be successful, except its clients who were thieves, backbiters, unruly, adolescent and just didnt care. These are they that destroy great businesses. They can be found within and without. Not withstanding, they are people just like us and need help and grace in becoming amazing and successful as our local Safeways. To Christ be the glory.

As the father of 5 children, if I spend $1500/month on groceries, it has been a slow month. In spite of the fact that the Owings Mills Safeway has many great offerings, almost all of my shopping is done at Giant. This is because of the extremely short-sighted policy of not allowing shopping carts into the parking lot! For many of us who do not move as easily as they did when they were younger, this is extremely inconvenient and frustrating. I am not alone on this. Others I have spoken to have expressed similar frustration. By saving the small amount of money it would take to send someone out periodically to collect the carts, Safeway is losing literally hundreds of thousands of dollars every year (maybe more!). Giant not only allows carts in the parking lot, they often have employees available to help load your trunk (without being asked!). Will someone wake up and change this archaic practice? The consumer experience should be paramount. It is just good business!

My wife and I have already elected to not give this particular store our money ever again. On 3 separate occasions we have purchased food that is greater than 2 weeks expired and 3 separate occasions have we been met with passive aggression and terrible customer service. Let me illustrate for you the quality of the food. We purchased ranch dressing that was expired by a year....a year! A bottle of naked juice expired by 2 weeks and lunch meat expired by 3. Also considering management does nothing to police the front where derelict customers continue to park in fire lanes and customers are accosted by the homeless, this is no place to spend hard earned money. My advice, which you should follow, is to take your business to Wegmans down to road or drive to the safeway in eldersburg. Unacceptable, uncouth, and unprofessional.

There is serious trouble with this safeway everytime I go in there someone is telling the manager off I think they call her Dee she white plus size employees and customers. That store is awful they only have one line open most of the time They can be out of something on Friday go back on Wednesday they still dont have any. I will start going to another safeway I like safeway buy not this one This is close to me but I will drive all the way to Arundel Mills Safeway they are always stocked and very professional this store is full of drama. Its just so class less to see the manager acting like that with customers and employees. Im glad Wegmans will be opening soon. I love the one in Hunt Valley and Columbia also the sushi the burger bar. I cant wait this safeway needs to close or need new management.

Actually, the salad bar is great, but the woman who work the Deli/prepared foods section, who also tend the salad bar , are horrible. They have the worst attitudes. Theyll stand around talking while you wait for assistance, and when you finally ask them to help you, they have the nerve to behave as though youre bothering them. At my office, we had 2 days of all day meetings with visiting Execs. and my boss suggested getting Safeway Catering in for the meetings, and before I could say anything, one of our Marketing women said that she refused to deal w/ the women at their Deli. Ive started going to a deli down the street, but their salad bar is nowhere near as good. On the bright side, the people at the checkout lines usually have pretty bad attitudes as well.

Deserves ZERO STARS. Wonderful example of a disaster of a grocery store....The store is extremely understaffed, with employees admitting that they are cutting their hours and not hiring more people. Customer service area doesnt have an employee there and takes 20min just to accomplish that. Waiting endlessly for the one employee working the Entire deli and prepared food area to get service. Self checkout machines dont work half of the time. The store is getting dirty and unorganized by the day ever since Wegmans opened up.. Most likely this store will close down within the year or two due to understaffed workers and lack of care for there customers. Drive the extra 0.2 miles and go to Wegmans. A real grocery store.......

The store manager is very rude and has poor customer service skills. I went there last Friday for the $5 specials and the lights were out. The food temperatures were dropping fast and the response I received from the staff and manager was "the lights have only been out for 20mins, the food is fine." They used old boxes to cover the open freezer cases and trash bags. I recommend not buying here for at least a few weeks. I hope no one gets sick. I was still able to shop for a few non perishable items but an employee rudely walked up to me and several other customers requesting we leave after the registers stopped working.

I am only going to this store because I live right behind it!!! literally!! I am a middle age latina so my expectations might be lower than the average customer and still I am dissatisfied and disappointed because the cashiers with two exceptions are usually rude when they see my face and not even say hello after 13 years coming to buy and spend my money there for overpriced rice and beans and the usual avocado, and other essentials. All the time only two cashiers and 15 people waiting in line, the self registers always so troublesome when you try to pay for vegetables un-market..anyway do not recommend.

It was Ok. Neutral with my experience. Was not overly impressed but equally, I was not displeased. Pros: Store was clean. Cons: access to the shopping carts were quite annoying. For example, there was no one on the outside to help you load the car. The problem with that is you have to leave your UNATTENDED, already purchased groceries on the curb as u get your car. My thoughts.....If you dont trust your customers with your carts, why should I do so with my unattended groceries? In the least, someone should be on the exterior of the store to assist your customers.
