-You definitely get what you pay for! Bought furniture a little over a year ago for almost every room in the house and each room has a problem in some way with the furniture. Scratches / Fades / Falls apart after minimal use. Separate accounts taken from multiple familys: -EVERYTHING will show up to your house assembled - loosely...so it breaks very easily. The material its made from is flimsy in the first place, but this stuff [really] doesnt last. -Reclining Couch beam broke in middle section, repair guy (supplied by warranty) came to house and "fixed" it (leaning) and when I sat on it, he told me promptly that I was sitting in it incorrectly. I was sitting upright - that posture breaking couches is a new one on me. -Recliner on couch broke off after 6 months. And no we dont jump up and down on it. It just gets sat in. We got a replacement brought to the house and its already leaning off the main unit after another 6 months. We returned to the store to pick up another warrantied item and our old couch was in the discount section. -Separate Recliners pop handle came out of recliner when I pulled on it. Warranty expired, I called Value to see what my options were and the sales guy / finance guy says verbatim, "Uh, your warrantys expired." I said, "Okay, so what can I do?" "Uh, I guess we can order a part for you if you want." "So then you have someone that can install that?" "Uhhh, nah that would have to be a self installation..." - Forget it brother, Ill just go to Lowes and rig something up. This company is just lazy from top to bottom. But hey, their stuff is affordable and looks good when you first get it.

In store, the sales staff is very friendly, they dont crowd you, and you dont feel pressured into buying anything. Some of their items are pricey, but they have many sets that come at a comfortable, discounted price. All of these things are what prompted me to buy from them. Please DONT. They say they deliver, but its through a third party who really has no respect for your purchases or your time. Not only did they leave out an entire item that was supposed to be delivered, they broke another of the items. I was told repeatedly that they had all my items in the warehouse, but after waiting THREE WEEKS for the delivery, turns out they dont. Keep in mind, I live ten minutes from the store. So if you have all the items and your building/warehouse is ten minutes away...why am I waiting three weeks? On top of that, if you purchase anything over $1000 online, you have to go through a verification process they tell you nothing about. Every attempt to call and deal with their customer service was a nightmare. They are either friendly but do nothing to help, or they straight up tell you they cant help you and hang up. Its been a fun journey, really it has Value City, but its now over a month since my initial order and Im still waiting for the piece they left out and the piece they broke. All in all, if you want a simple, pleasant furniture buying experience, just go somewhere else. Its not worth the trouble.

I have never in my life encountered worse customer service. Without going into the whole story because its too long, these people need to learn to communicate with each other to run an effective business and provide a good service. There needs to be more organization so that things dont get missed. Twice when when waiting on follow up calls (first call trying to confirm a redelivery, the second to confirm a return) I was told I would receive a call back and did not. Both resulted in stress and lost time. Its so ridiculously unacceptable its *almost* comical. If you are reading this review I would only go here if you have endless extra time in your life to wait and if you are incredibly patient and dont mind bad service. Otherwise dont waist your time. Although this seems like a company-wide problem, this location is especially bad when it comes to customer service. Jonestown Rd Harrisburg was okay to work with but remember, if you order something you will have to work with the Value City closest geographically to you.

My husband was treated awful by the assistant manager of the warehouse when it took over a total of 45 min to pick up a small recliner and foot stool for my mother on Wednesday morning when I was told it would be ready to go on Tuesday night. I was working then when I get home and call my mom to find out how she likes her chair my sister says I dont think its the right color(their partially blind) and it took a lot to get my 84 year old elderly blind mother there ..so I ask my husband what color was the chair he said olive green...NO we ordered Garnet so I called the store and Bonnie the sales lady basically called me a liar when my mom and sister both heard me tell her she wanted garnet .... Then Bonnie said well u ordered green and I will get u the right color and your mom can set in the chair till we get her replacement......Really??? Where else do you want her to set????? I posted the story on face book and have heard to many other peoples comments... I will not go back!

I would never recommend this store. Incompetent people from sales to delivery. Three trips to my house 8am, 6pm, 8:45pm and still didnt get it right! They were to call us the next day, NO CALL! My husband delivered to the store the wrong mattress that they brought to us 845pm. I ordered twin daybed with trundle, with two twin mattress, and two bunkie boards along with computer chair, 8am truck brought bed with NO MATTRESS OR BUNKIE BOARDS and computer chair, waited all day 6pm brought bunkie boards and two mattress that wouldnt fit and one was queen mattres, WHAT?!?! I have a twin bed, we went to the store and was given a memory foam mattress to take in our car home and they came at 845pm with yet another mattress that wouldnt fit my trundle! The sales people didnt even know what size mattress the trundle took when they were questioned, why are they selling furniture that they have no idea what it is! Crazy!?!?!?

When the furniture was supposed to be delivered, they told my son he looked too young, because he was supposed to be over 18 for delivery. The delivery guys began badgering him for an ID card, which he could not produce and did not deliver the furniture. They told me we would have to pay for another delivery, which was about $140. This business should just shut the doors because it was empty when I went to buy the living room set. The lady that was checking us out could not use the computer, she had to ask someone for assistance. There is so many problems with this place it is just pitiful. I would never drop another penny in this place. That is what you get for feeling sorry for local businesses. I will just get it on Amazon the next time. At least I dont have to put up with unprofessional BS.
