The store manager who employees call "Miss Nina" and her asst manager "Miss Shelia" need a lesson in customer service. Not only do they treat me bad, but I sit back and watch while I wait in their very long lines and see how they interact with their employees and customers. Its not good. I watched Nina make a customer take her stuff out of the cart she was using and use a different cart because apparently the customer was using a cart that is for employees to use when they are stocking. Even tho the customer told Nina that the cart was sitting at the front door with the others. Nina didnt care…My own experiences has not been better. The latest being this Wed. the 2nd. I had a cart full of items ($160 total). "Miss Shelia" was checking me out. I have 7 golf polos that were on a rack at the front of the store. No price on any of them. I as her how much since there is no price- she says $9.99 each. I say OK. She starts ringing them up then says, oh wait- these are $12.99 each. I said I thought they were $9.99- she says she was wrong. Well how do you know what the price really is if theres no price. Do you just make it up as you go??? I decide to take them anyways. She gets to the last of my items and I have a jacket with a hang tag that says its $12.99. She starts to ring it up and says this tag isnt right. This jacket should cost more. We had a busy week last week and it was priced wrong by one of our employees. I need to call someone up here. So she does and the person says "its $89.99"…They went from $12 to $90 dollars. I tell them the price says $12.99. It was on the rack for $12.99, its NOT my fault that one of your employees priced it wrong. She says she sorry, and proceeds to blame it on the customers, in front of a long, long line of customers, saying that sometimes they "switch" prices. To which I respond, really, its a hang tag, how would a customer switch that out? A price sticker I could see, but not a tag thats attached to the garment with a hang tag. In the end, they take the jacket to the back and didnt even give me a chance to buy it at their new inflated $89.99. Is this how SA is ran?? Do the cashiers/managers get to make up/change prices as they are checking out the customers?? This is just one occasion. I had another occasion when I was using my resale tax ID. The cashier didnt know how to use it properly, so after each item she rings up she has to enter the tax ID , which took her at least 15 min to ring up my whole cart. I had so mush stuff she was running out of counter space, so as she filled up a bag, she would hand it to me and I would put it in my cart. She gets to my last few items and "Miss Nina" says supposed to leave all bag behind the counter until she is finished ringing me up. The cashier told her she didnt have anymore room behind the counter, but Nina didnt care. She made me hand all the bags back to the cashier and the cashier had to take everything out an ring it up AGAIN. It took well over 30 min to check out. Its one thing if the cashier isnt following her rules, fine, address it with the employee after she is done. Dont make the customer wait 30 min to check out!! Other occasion I use my resale tax ID Miss Shelia has practically made me give a DNA sample to use it. Ive got my proper ID, my business card, my resale certificate, etc. and every time she interrogates me ( in front of all the other customers) as to why Im using it, what business do I have, where do I sale, what do I sale, etc. I thrift all over the DFW area. 2-3 times a week, and Shelia and Nina are the only ones that get attitude when I use my resale certificate. I shouldnt feel "anxious" every time I go in that store. I spend on average $200 every time I go in there and its to the point that I may not go back. Something has to be done about the lack of proper treatment of the customers in that store. I will start complaining to corporate and the BBB if I have to…...

I went there to get something similar to an upright bakers rack. Found something I thought would be perfect, but there was a $32 price tag on it (marked down from $42). When I took it to the register, it came to a whopping $35 and change. After putting $40 on the counter, I hesitated for a moment and I took it back and said, on second thought, I change my mind. This is supposed to be a "Thrift Store" and this item is definitely overpriced. The proof in this store overcharging is when I saw a Parsons End Table with a $19 price tag on it. This very same Parsons End Table I purchased "Brand New" from Walmart just a couple of weeks prior for $19. So where is the savings? They are asking $19 for a used item, when you can get the very same item "Brand New" from Walmart. I saw a table set in there for $300. This store is RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED. This Is Not A Thrift Store. When You Cannot Afford to Buy at Your Neighborhood Thrift Store Because Their Prices Are Too High then maybe people need to stop patronizing them, until they get the message. These are items that were donated to them for free. Why are they trying to make a killing on these items? I will definitely stay away from this particular so called “Thrift Store”, because I have NEVER seen prices so OVER INFLATED as I have seen in this store. TOTALLY DISGRACEFUL!!! THEY REALLY NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED.

I am glad I ignored the previous review and went to the Plano location of the Salvation Army Thrift Store. I suppose the previous poster would have preferred gansta rap over the loud speakers, but I thought the muzak made for a good relaxing atmosphere. A super organized thrift store is one that......has an efficient and attentive staff. This was evident when I was greeted at the door with a cheerful "Hi, how are you", and you saw the staff circulating the aisles straightening up after the customers who left things in disarray, as well as the "Have a nice day" as I left. I dont shop at thrift stores often, partially because I would prefer not to be in proximity of people like the previous poster. No I didnt buy anything, but I was looking for one specific thing. It is a only a thrift store after all, and you usually dont expect much, but after this experience I may not be as hesitant to shop here and the other Salvation Army stores in this area.

We have donated frequently to this store in Plano for years and we regularly donate money to Salvation Army but that is going to change. Over the past year the Plano store has become a disgrace. The men that take in items are rude, lazy and careless. I dropped off a good size piece of furniture, Im a woman weighing about 110, the man stood there and watched me struggle to get the furniture out of my SUV and didnt offer to lend a hand. My adult son helped me get it in the SUV and this adult man stood with his hands crossed watching, pathetic. I dont expect these people to solely unload my items but I do expect a little help and gratitude. Theres a thrift store near Bavarian Grill that gives veterans free furniture and clothing to help them after serving our country, from now on thats where my donations will go.
