I have and will be a loyal customer and fan of Abels work at Custom Ink until I have no skin left on my body to cover with his art. Abel is not only a talented artist, but hes clean and that is something to consider when youre getting a tattoo from somebody. Hes a clean person, tidy, he doesnt make stupid or inappropiate jokes and hes a solid trustworthy person and thats worth its weight in gold because youre spending a lot of time with someone and blood is being shed so consider that when youre picking an artist. And consider my review because I have a lot of experience with him. Its important for an tattoo artist to have vision and you will be surprised at how many dont. A lot of these people just take your design, trace it and slap it on you and off you go. Abel will draw the tattoo out, freehand and sometimes freehand on your body without a stencil, hes tattood me without stencils and thats the work of a master craftsman, an artist, not just some dude you run into at a semi clean shop. This is also a clean shop, recently painted, it smells good, it has a lounge area with couches and a TV. Its a comfortable place to spend a lot of hours in alone or with a friend getting tattood. From Abel you will get solid, solid linework. Expert shading. Life giving colors. And realistic portraits. If youre looking for a black and gray master for portraiture or realistics animals, weapons or fantasy, Abel will come through with some of the most oustanding tattoo work that Ive seen in over my 20 years of getting tattood. I wish I had met him from the beginning but I am grateful I know him now and like I said, I will continue with him until my skin has been exhausted. His color, traditional and new school work is exceptional also, please do yourself a favor and come in and talk to him. I will assure you that just by talking with him about your project, youll be put at ease before you even sit in the chair. And thats what makes him better than everyone else. I trust his opinion on everything tattoo related and sometimes theres been things I wasnt sure about or things I thought would translate well and hes saved me from making some huge mistakes and thats essential when choosing an artist. Please do not be a fool and think just anything can be tattood because it cant be, you want quality and you want this tattoo to look boss and in order for that to happen you need the best in the biz to guide you and thats the Abel experience at Custom Ink. You will not be rushed. You will be treated with respect and given a master opinion. I wish this review was able to link a pic so you can all see his work on me. Ive referred a lot of people to him and theyve always come back to me with a very grateful thank you. Hes done some real fantastic cover up work too and thats priceless. Ask for Abel at Custom Ink and do yourself a favor. A good tattoo artist is also a partner, you two are partnered in your idea and its imperative that you have a good partner because this is on your body until the day you die and for about a month after :) so choose well and ask for Abel, you deserve to be the envy of everyone you meet.

Custom ink by far is a great place to get your tattoo done at! Especially by Jay! Im in the military and I got told by many people to go to custom ink. I got my thigh done with Jay and he kept a total professional manner. I Recommend everyone and ladies to go to him! Im one of his loyal customers and still getting my entire leg done by him! His work is amazing, he takes his time, makes sure everything you want is the way you want it and where exactly to put your tattoo, My time with him was amazing, he kept it totally professional, and doesnt over charge you for bullshit like many other tattoo shops in San Antonio Texas! I even took my time to look at most of the shops here and I didnt like them because many of them were very rude when I walked in as a lady. Custom inks service is phenomenal and I love all the guys in there! They are beyond friendly and welcoming to anyone! They are very professional, extremely clean they even open up the new needles right In front of you to show how clean and safe they really are for your care. Everyone go to custom ink! You will not regret it! All the others are haters!

I went to Custom Ink recommended by a friend for my first tattoo. My artist was a guy named Jay It was the worst decision I made my tattoo did not come out they way I wanted it. He was in a rush it was really painful I got it on my ribs under my breast. But the worst part of my experience was he was not professional AT ALL he lift my shirt to high to the point my nipple came out and all he said he was sorry. I honestly felt he did it on purpose cause he did it again. He had his hands all over my chest I really felt disrespected and nervous cause I didnt know what to expect for my first tattoo. I felt I should of contacted management and reported him immediately but I was nervous just wanted to leave. He asked me to leave a review on him so here it is. I advise everyone to do your research on your artist before getting work done. Me personally will not be going back to this tattoo shop due to my experience and I speak only about Jay cause I dont know the others. My friend was happy with her tattoo and her artist wish I felt the same. I DO NOT RECOMMEND JAY FOR ANY WOMAN TO GET TATTOOED.

My overall experience from the time I called to the time I stepped out the door was FANTASTIC!! I chose custom ink tattoos based off of their awesome website and several excellent reviews. I loved being able to see each tattoo artists personal picture and individual work before I came in. I wanted a 10 year old tattoo that was fading revitalized. i was greeted with a smile and a handshake by my artist Jason. The shop was energetic, clean, and comfortable. Jason was quick to assess my old tattoo, answered all of my questions, offered a more than fair price, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. He was extremely gentle during the whole session and constantly asked me how I was doing. Im a medical professional so this resonated with me. Jason took my tattoo to the next level. His hand is steady. His work is beautiful and precise. He is an extremely talented artist. I am beyond pleased!! Ive asked Jason to help me create a mandala piece as my next tattoo. less »

As some of us say "tattoos become addicting." I have gotten work done in other shops that were good, but never could I say "I really love them." I was looking for an artist that could do more then just good work. I was looking for amazing work that would keep me wanting to return. As I searched for an artist I was recommend to Custom Ink by one of my sisters, insisting I had to get work done by Abel Quinones. My experience was awesome! Over the pasted two years Ive gotten exactly ten tattoos all from Able and still counting. As you can see a loyal and committed customer. Ive gotten from flowers/roses to portraits. Portraits is one of the scariest tattoos to consider. Mine have been absolutely amazing!! I get compliments from randoms, which is always a good feeling. I definitely recommend anyone and everyone whom is looking in getting a tattoo to go see Able, either it be your first time, a cover up or just another tattoo.
