The worst experience Ive ever had at a jeweler- think twice before having any repairs done by this place. Heres the story: My fiance and I had been asking around for a good jeweler to get my engagement ring sized, and were recommended (by a three-star, so obviously a trusted source) to Kings Jewelry. I really wish we had not taken that advice. When we went in the woman at the counter was very snotty and rude- I think a case of the sour grapes, if you know what I mean- certainly a case of age discrimination. When she mentioned something about being unsure whether the diamonds might fall out (since it is a tension set) during the repair, I did not want to use their services, but my fiance convinced me it would be okay. Well, they kept the ring for over a month, then when I called to check on it the clerk said he couldnt find it! I was obviously very upset, as this was my one of a kind engagement ring. The guy didnt even apologize, he just said hed look again, and call back. Well, when he finally did call back it was to leave a message on my voicemail saying that they now refused to complete the repair because of "my attitude"! I very much believe anyone would have an "attitude" when a jeweler tells them theyve lost their engagement ring. When I told him I would take it to litigation for discrimination, he changed his story to the goldsmith being unable to complete the repairs, and he actually yelled over the phone and hung up on me! Again, no apologies for wasting my time, making me worry or for the downright rude way in which I was treated by every clerk I spoke with. This was by far the worst experience in my short time in this city. My family has gone to the same goldsmith for years, so perhaps Im a bit spoiled, but I thought DC would have establishments just as fine as in Atlanta. I certainly was wrong.

I inherited a diamond and found the perfect setting at another local jeweler. However, they wanted $250 to set the stone. I knew platinum was typically harder to work with, but could not find reason for the price. I then called local, well established jewelers to get other quotes and found the max/min range to be $40-$100 (the $100 foreseeing any possible issue with the metal, head replacement, etc). I didnt feel comfortable paying $150 more than the maximum I could find... especially when the jeweler couldnt itemize his work. I ended up taking to Kings Jewelry in Old Town (the place that said it could be $100)... they did the job for $45 and I was thrilled with the outcome. Kings Jewelry has been family owned and operated for quite some time and their jewelers are fantastic (i recently had the ring resized to fit my new fiancé’s finger and they came through again with great workmanship). Their overall selection seemed ok, but the craftsmanship on repairs, settings, and resizing was fantastic!

I Googled jewelers in my area because I had no idea where to go to repair my wedding band. Kings Jewelry had good reviews so I took a leap and went there. My ring had a sliver of metal sticking out of it. I thought it may have been a prong around one of the diamonds. The lady that waited on me checked all the stones and assured me that they were secure. She went to the jeweler in the back who smoothed out the piece of metal and verified that the stones were secure. To top it all off, she didnt charge me a thing!! You dont see that much these days. If I have any future jewelry repairs or have an interest in buying some jewelry, Ill definitely be returning to this shop!

Went to buy a watch for my old man for Christmas. I did plenty of research on the internet and knew the specific watch I wanted before going into it. Although they didnt carry the specific model I was looking for, the staff was extremely friendly and placed a call to the distributor to see if they could find my watch. I ended up picking a very similar model after talking through what I wanted out of the watch, and even got a pretty good discount right off the top without any haggling. Definitely worth shopping at an AD such as this, especially for watches, where online warranties can be a nightmare. They even giftwrapped it for me. Such an easy great experience.

Kings Jewelry is an excellent, old fashioned, service-oriented jewelry store with jewelers onsite. They have an excellent inventory and can get you, or make you, anything you want. This is not a mall chain! They really care about your happiness. My family buys all our watches, engagements rings, earrings, gifts, etc. here. The salespeople are very, very knowledgeable and not pushy in any way. They want you to be happy with your purchase. Brad & Kathy are well known around Old Town--and everyone loves them!

This family owned business is the best! Coming from a stressed out newly engaged bride to be, they were went out of their way to accommodate my ring redesign requests, in a timely manner. We bought my wedding band there. I now take all my jewelry to Kings to have it repaired, appraised and love the beautiful and unique jewelry that they carry. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly. I wouldnt go anywhere else but Kings Jewelers.

We had an extraordinary situation to which any jeweler could have balked, but this establishment bent over backwards to accommodate our odd requests. They had nothing to gain from such extraordinary service -- I can only conclude then, that they enjoy what they do and genuinely appreciate me as a customer. If nothing else, at least speak with this vendor before committing to another one!

I cant say enough good things. Family owned and operated, they helped me through the entire process of buying an engagement ring. They ordered diamonds multiple times to let me compare and decide what I want. I went to several places and Kings was hands down best in service, knowledge, and prices. Im now ordering wedding bands and will probably come back for anniversary gifts.
