Overall, this commissary is definitely hit or miss. I always say dont bring your problems to work and I believe that some of the people that work here do that, along with some of the customers. Customer service goes both ways. The prices are comparable to other places, but what I like the most is you can get items that you wouldnt normally find off base at HEB or Walmart. They always have different sales every day. The baggers are there to help you with your groceries, and thats why they are paid based off tips. If you dont want a bagger helping you, then honestly, dont shop here, OR go to self-checkout if you have less than 15 items that you can carry on your own. I do miss the one cashier that worked there, he was very polite to everyone, had a contagious smile, and was very good looking. I know for a fact that he was Asian, and had wing tattoos on both his arms. I heard that the front end manager and cashiers miss him dearly, but he had to move on to a much better, high paying gig. Hopefully Ill run into him again, and show my love...I mean my appreciation for his outstanding customer service, and friendly attitude. Did I mention he was sexy??? I sure did...

The isles are so small its hard to pass through 2 carts at a time, especially when they have the big stocking carts in the isle. I really thought with the remodel things could move more smoothly. Also the shelves were not stocked there were several items i didnt get because they were not stocked. I went in late after noon. Do they not stock before and after shopping hours? Randolph and fort sam are better commissarys. To bad they are such a far drive. Thank goodness for H-E-B.

Disappointed with the facility. No organic section- Almost all the salad containers were empty from the refridgerated section. We accidently bought eggs a week past the sell by date. The employees do not seem like they "want" to be there or provide "customer service." If you do go here, make sure you check the expiration date of your food.

Upside:Mid month. Low traffic. Fresh food looks better. Shelves are full. Downside: horrible seafood freezer. All seafood caught and processed from China, except Emiril Lagase shrimp (which I love). No bueno. I want US caught or farmed fish. Please dont continue to feed this stuff to our military families.

Sometimes this place can be great but it depends in your cashier. The older lafies tend to not let you use coupons at all while others are totally ok with it. Do not go 10 mins to closing because they will not let you in and if your inside during closing, they will literally kick you out.

good prices..great service..people need to realize that the current GOP and senate along with Trump causing distractions..are going to propose to get rid of the military commissaries and base exchanges ..it in place they want to see Walmarts and no more discounts for the military

This Commissary could use an update. It seems old and small compared to other Commissaries I have been too. The front entrance is so small you can barely get your shopping cart in and the deli selection is very limited. I also have noticed spoiled food on the shelves.

Not really a fan of the fact you feel obligated to have a bagger follow you out to your car to help you put your grocerys in your car, and then you have to tip them... Just awkward. They need to have normal lanes where baggers are not waiting to follow you...

HEB is better than here, price, and customer service. Only good thing about the commissary is the sushi place. The ladies that work there are always nice and helpful and love the rolls. But I shop at the avalley High HEB for everything else.

Its been recently renovated. I dont shop here often because HEB is often less expensive and definitely has a better selection......but I will make a trip here about twice a month to get those items that are cheaper here at the commissary.

Lackland Commissary barely breaks down the definition of a Commissary store. The fruit and vegetable section is rather small. The freshness of fruits, vegetables, and meats is questionable at times. Otherwise, it is about average.

The renovation made it very consumer friendly. My only suggestion is to work on produce. They do not have same standards as H-E-B or Wal-Mart. Employees are polite and courteous.
