So far so good! I got my puppy from this place 3 weeks ago. I was a little concerned with the whole puppy mill thing. I almost went to the Pembroke Petland since their puppies were basically half the price. I did a lot of research and went in expecting sick dogs or dogs sitting in their own feces. I was pleasantly surprised to find the dogs there active (except for a few sleepy ones) and their kennels relatively clean for puppies who arent house broken. I asked to see the shibas I fell in love with a female who was active and not sickly at all. I also asked about AKC registration which I was happy to find that both of her parents were AKC registered and she had a 3rd generation family tree. On top of the AKC registration petlands lifetime health warentee gave me some peace of mind. They do cover any genetic disorders the puppy might develop, while it doesnt cure the dog it allow you to get the amount you paid for the puppy towards another puppy. So technically youre not really losing anything. Of course you have to follow their health plan which means you feed the dog food and vitamins that they provide which is also fine. I checked the back and it does have the same stuff or more than what blue wilderness or any similar "health" food has. Oh and you have to purchase it from the store. The financing was simple and easy. Though I will warn people that if you are approved for both a petland credit card and other card they will sign you up for both if the petland card cant cover the cost of the dog. They said the petland card goes away but I canceled it anyway. As for the staff, I cant speak for all the staff memebers but the one that helped me out was Paul who was very knowledgeable and seemed to really love the dogs. Some additional notes: I did search their attending vet. It had pretty decent reviews. Not a 5 star vet like my current vet but they also arent a small clinic in Boca. I will say that the sunset vet clinic does have cheaper pricing options for shots and with the free exams up to a year with your petland puppy its really good. Overall Im pretty satisfied with my purchase. The puppy is smart, attentive, and a fast learner. She was house broken in less than a day (without treats) and she now knows all of the basic commands. Ive also kennel trained her within a week. :) Very smart dog and very socialized. Word of Warning: Before you consider purchasing a puppy, do your research. A dog is a commitment for the rest of their life. Puppies seem like theyd be a great addition to your home, however they require constant supervision to build good habits and to learn to not to destroy your house. If there is any updates on the dog or my experience Ill update the review Update: Ive had my Shiba for over a year now and havent had any health issues (So far)!!! Would definitely recommend this place if you cant find a good breeder!

BRING TO VET!!! Any animal bought from a petland or at least this one should be checked fully immediately . Adopted two kittens from supposedly same litter, but noticed the birth certificate says a month apart, then try to say its a typo .. (ya okay guess the whole health certificate is typo), I adopted one a week prior to getting the other, I adopted his brother to save him cause I knew they werent going to treat him. The first kitten I adopted, 2months old & INFESTED WITH EAR MITES!!! Been cleaning them for a week now and still thick gunk coming up( using olive oil to treat) the mites are so bad they are stuck to the skin caked on and hard to come off .. which means these kittens been had mites from the get. Supposedly were given shots and checked by vet (nob hill animal clinic) 6/20/17 and I adopted the first one 6/22/17 and on the bill of health it states vet checked for internal and external parasites, including "ear mites" which in 2 days mites dont get that bad so which means the vet didnt check the ears, 2nd issues is I checked the teeth, because Ive noticed the first one I got now, has become lethargic after 10 days and has thrown up a few times, plus diarrhea (which could be the food change) but I checked the teach and part of the gums are white while the rest is healthy pink, the back molars are discolored at where the tooth meets the gums. Animals from Petland need saving and should have better care, this place is just to SELL & not to CARE. I feel sorry for the new kittens and pupps waiting to be saved from this place & actually cared for. If you have the money to save one, do it. Its sad to say that the animals in petland need to be saved just as much as the ones in shelters... & Penny for thought.. the puppys who dont sell by a certain time get tossed over to shelters cause they get too old to sell or who knows worse. Btw Most of the 5 star reviews are from the employees... js

Poor management and mediocre service. My dog was missing twice and I assumed he had a microchip. After I recovered him two times I had a vet scan to see if he has a microchip and he does not have a microchip. I paid for this service when I bought him in August 2014. My paperwork could not be located because the staff has no access to the documents and the manager at a another location knows where the documents are. An unfriendly supervisor Kelsey came in while I was waiting for an answer no. She gave no eye contact or acknowledged the customer, she had a social conversation with another representative in front of me and she was not able to sort out my issue. I now have to wait for the manager Paul from another (Plantation) location (a location where my pet was not purchased) to either instruct the staff at the Davie what needs to be done to find my sales documents or find it himself %-/. ****The Maltese are $3000 -$3800....3 to 4 times what I paid for my pet over 2 years ago*****

I had been to the Petland in Plantation a few times, and my experience couldnt have been more different. At Petland Davie, EVERY single dog was asleep or extremely exhausted looking. Two were "sleeping" with their eyes open. One poor puppy had pooped in his tiny cage and began eating it. No one bothered to clean anything up. The dogs looks drugged and probably were. You cant tell me that 25 puppies all decided to pass out at the same time. None of them looked like they were enjoying themselves. Terribly sad. There was also a cage with 3 scrawny looking kittens directly next to a cage with little birds - Im sure the birds wont have lasting effects from living next to some cats who want to eat them... The store also sells fish it turns out, the tank was so filthy, you couldnt see the fish inside. Absolutely horrible place and if you get a dog from there you must be out of your mind. Go to a shelter and give a much healthier, longer living dog a home for thousands less!

WARNING......WARNING.....My first dog that I bought in 2012 - and ALL THE DOGS HAVE MORE THAN DOUBLED IN PRICE. ITS CRAZY! AND when I spoke to the salesman, he acted as if Im the stupid one! Just go online to a BREEDER. DO not buy a dog from a pet shop and pay 3000.00 plus dollars for a puppy! Go to the humane society. In addition, theyve STOPPED SELLING DOGS IN PET SHOPS. THAT IS WHY, SO FAR, THIS ONE IS CHARGING SO MUCH MONEY, so just figure youll have to wait anyway, so get the puppy the right way. GO TO A BREEDER AND THEN HAVE YOUR PUPPY FED EXED DOWN IN DELUXE STYLE FOR WHAT THESE PEOPLE WANT. $3400.00 for a puppy? Yikes, too much. Crazy stuff, and no way worth the it. Just call before you go. They may not be selling dogs anymore.■
