I have had to wear glasses since I was 13 so there have been a lot of glasses in my life. I have had varied experiences with many other suppliers. This experience with Eyemart Express was excellent. They had a good selection of basic and some designer frames and the price of the glasses depended on which frames you chose and the lens options you added. Now, you have to realize that these are not $600-a-pair-glasses. But, for two pairs for around $60 for basic prescriptions and under $40 for a single pair, you cant beat it. They were also done fast. I had purchased glasses from another two-for-one dealer and it took seven to ten business days to get them. At Eyemart Express I got two pairs of glasses in an hour. One pair had their Platinum Protection Package which included the tint for sunglasses as well as scratch coating and anti-glare coating. That was a little pricey. It added $29.95 to the cost of the glasses because I wanted sunglasses. If you buy glasses from an online supplier the tint is usually billed separately and costs $10. However, even at $45 a pair it was much better than what I had been paying for my glasses. I have paid upward of $600 for Armani frames and lenses. $89.66 was a lot better! If I mess them up then I am not devastated. The service was great. Ask for Christina; she was excellent. She had a vibrant personality and she knew her glasses. She put up with my questions and patiently helped me try on at least 10 frames. She helped me to get the best deal with the frames I had chosen. She offered me a variety of prices and options and helped me to pick the best ones. I would go back there again and have already recommended it to my family. Now, remember, I got the most basic single-vision glasses that I could get with the cheapest frames so that I could add the lens package. You could easily spend a lot more if you chose different options. You just need to get an out-the-door price and be careful what coatings you choose. I am very satisfied with both the sunglasses and the single-vision distance glasses. I would buy from them again. Just a note: if you need an eye exam they are attached to an optometrist office where you can get an exam.

Be careful if you shop here. While they have a beautiful selection of frames, same day service, and an optometry office inside the store, they may try to rip you off and at least certain employees have no problem lying to your face. I came to buy eyeglasses, and they lied to me about what my insurance covered (or were incompetent in looking my plan up). When I came back and asked for them to fix it, they lied about how much I should be refunded. I ended up having to go through the receipt item by item, with my insurance carrier on the phone, to get my refund. They also applied more expensive options (the premium protective coating rather than the standard which would have been covered by my insurance plan, additional warranties) without clearing it with me and refused to refund those items. Plus they kept cutting me off or outright telling me to be quiet when I tried to discuss the matter with them. When I first came back with questions about the charges, I was inclined to be charitable, that it was just a mistake, perhaps by a new employee, especially as the staff had been very cheerful and seemingly helpful on my first visit. But the rude and IMO unethical way I was treated at my second visit left a bad taste in my mouth. I will be avoiding them in the future. Even if my experience was not the norm (it was my first time shopping here), I would advise others to be wary. Bring a copy of your benefits with you and ask for an itemization before agreeing to anything.

A Private User

For a billion years (or so it seems) I have had to go to RX Optical for my glasses. When Eyemart opened up and I discovered they worked with insurance (VSP) I went to see what they had in eye glass frames. They have a much better selection then RX Opitical, and the prices were about $200 less. They transferred my prescription from RX Optical for me, which made everything easy. The staff was patient and helpful as I made my decision. The last time I went to RX Optical, they were clearly annoyed I was taking more then 10 minutes to choose my frames. I ordered a pair regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses, both with progressive lenses. They were running a little late, but they called me to let me know that. When I returned to pick them up, they made sure they fit me well, which is even more important when you have progressive lenses. I was able to get two pairs of glasses with progressive lenses, one of which were sunglasses, for under $300. This is my 3rd pair of progressive lenses, and my first pair that actually fit me correctly, so I could actually see through them. My experience was positive from the moment I entered the store, to the minute I left. I cant say enough good things about them, and I will never go to another place for my glasses.

They have a wide selection of frames available. Pricing was really reasonable for a pair of glasses, almost half of what you pay anywhere else. Christina was helpful in explaining the one year warranty on the frames, and measuring me for the two frames I selected. They asked if I wanted a text message notification when my glasses were ready. My glasses were ready in under an hour, thats great service! Laural adjusted my frames when I picked them up and made sure that they fit well and the prescription was correct. Pickup was easy and quick too! Overall, it was a pleasant very low key transaction.

Couldnt ask for more caring people than the folks at this store. Beth and Leslie spent a great deal of time working with me in order to get new glasses adjusted perfectly. They are so friendly and helpful in this store that you feel like you are their only client. I cannot praise Beth and Leslie enough for their patience and professionalism, as well as assuring me that they would work with me until I was completely satisfied. I am very pleased with the service I received at the Portage EyeMart Express.

Had an eye exam and bought two pair of prescription glasses on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Exam was very thorough. Selected my frames with the help of Leslie, and I cant thank her enough. Her expertise and good taste helped me pick out two pairs of glasses that I love. Eye exam was at 1:15 in the afternoon and glasses were ready to go by 4:30. Great service, great glasses and all for half the price I paid for a single pair of glasses (not including eye exam) at Pearle Vision.
