*Update-I raised them a star, because we were forced to go in there last Sunday, and much to my surprise..full registers open!! I even saw a manager this visit, and he was quick to jump on a register to keep the lines moving!* Previously posted-- Every time we have tried to go in this store we end up waiting in line for ridiculous amounts of time. The last time was the final straw when we tried to order sandwiches from the deli at around 7pm and we were told the deli was closed because the kid had to leave at exactly 9 when the deli normally closes. It wasnt even 7:30 yet!?! We choose to drive to the Scotts Valley Safeway now for a better selection and quicker service.

Horrible customer service. I was refused service after waiting 10 minutes to purchase alcohol because it was after 2am. This is not the first time Ive had to leave my items on the belt because the staff told me I had to wait an extra 15-20 minutes until someone could ring me up. Yes, I usually shop after midnight because of my job and I know they dont have a cashier after a certain hour, but it is extremely unprofessional to refuse service to customers. Managers solution, dont shop at this store after midnight. I will NEVER be back.

What can I say, its Safeway. This one is quite small, as Safeways go, smaller enough that theres no bakery and not much deli or prepared food at all. Also the produce section is smaller than some, especially the organics. But with a natural foods grocery basically around the corner (New Leaf), you can see why they wouldnt concentrate on that. The place is clean, pretty good selection, friendly local people, open 24 hours. What more do you need?

Seems like most people are just getting through waiting for the day to end. You can get some basics here if you really need them, but there are far better places to get your groceries. The main reason I would go here is if I urgently needed something and it was late at night and all the other stores were closed.

its worth an extra drive to Scotts Valley. The place seems understaffed. Cashiers are overworked{long lines only few registers open} and appear unhappy. Also, miss marked prices last two visits, without apology. I hope they can get their $%#t together .

Bad selection. Produce is horrible and the produce manager is extremely rude and hostile. Tried talking to her about produce quality. Worst customer service Ive ever had in produce. Rest of the employees are great and work hard.

on Fridays they have submarine sandwiches big ones for five bucks and for some reason they always seem to have them when the Scotts Valley store is out so I go youre quite often the people are friendly just as it should be.

This must be the end of the route or something. Some items are frequently out of stock. Slow lines, the checkers seem to only work at one speed regardless of how many people are in line and blocking the isles.

Worst Safeway is Santa Cruz County. Its only redeeming factor is that it is open 24 hours. Do yourself a favor and go to the Safeway in Scotts Valley.
