What a wordy review. Heres quick style: Bumped my 3 star up to 5 because: BAR ON SITE WITH LOCAL BEER and WINE. There. Forget the rest of the review, go enjoy Nob Hill now! Yay! Plus: - Floral good if you need a vase of flowers for work. - Sushi amazingly good for a supermarket -- better than places Ive eaten. - Ceviche and Poke bar now. Burrito/taco bar. Other salad bars by weight so kind of expensive if you load up heavier items, though tasty! - This store does all sorts of stuff besides groceries. A one-stop shop for errands and stuff. -Parking tip: mind the one-way directions, and find close places you drive past, go up the next row, then circle back and park, done. May the parking fairies bless you. - Produce and wine/basic booze selection is decent (for a supermarket) though rum, whisky, and tequila selection a bit slim. Con: - Price is like everything else in Redwood Shores, a bit higher :-/ - Layout is strange and counter-intuitive in places. - Merchandiser people stock shelves and claim they dont work or know the store, like Nob Hill / Raleys contracts out. Good luck trying to find help. Long version to follow... Nob Hill is close to where I lay my head at night and has about everything. It presents itself as upscale -- call it "snob hill" -- but hey its groceries, duh. Ive been shopping here for years and they havent changed much in that time. Beware odd price-tags "buy 5 to get this price" where you pay more when buying 1 or 2 items - thats just sneaky. Checkers are generally nice, though I often check myself out... I mean, not because I am so handsome, right, what I meant to say is I scan and bag my own groceries. Nob Hill promotes the idea and may as well say "Hey, Im a human and this machine is taking my job, but use the machine so I can be obsolete soon!" I dont use the deli but they always seem busy. Whenever I see 1-star complainers I wonder if they just like to whine on yelp or had balls to ask the store for a fix, to good or bad results? Just sayin... Love it or hate it, theres Nob Hill.

Nob Hill is generally more expensive than the likes of Safeway. But I prefer to shop here because the location is convenient, and the selection of products just seems to keep getting better and better. I find stuff that I thought Id only get at Whole Foods, like local organic free-range chicken (from Petaluma Poultry), Three Twins ice cream, Ecos laundry detergent, and South of France hand soap. They also have a very decent cheese and wine section. The rewards program is also more straightforward since its like a cash-back + coupons program, compared to Safeways which is confusing and requires more work. 4 things they need to improve on, though: 1) selection of fresh produce (sometimes they dont have fresh basil, french beans, or fresh peppers), 2) the Earthbound salad greens are sometimes close to their sell-by date, 3) the meat counter is often left unattended and it takes a while before someone comes to assist you, and 4) the vendors that stock the shelves can be rude to customers asking for help finding stuff. I understand that they dont work for Nob Hill, but it creates an unpleasant experience for customers nonetheless.

About as disappointing as it gets. Attempting to be a knock-off Whole Foods, Nob Hill Foods is at best comparable to a Safeway - and even thats a stretch. Their signage out front prominently boasts of Organic Fresh Foods and Local Produce like thats their main schtick, when in reality theyre about as adventurous as an Albertsons with a small quantity of unimpressive organic items very lightly sprinkled throughout. Especially frustrating to see their We carry 100% grass-fed beef sign in their meat department (already a weak claim), only to find that there is in fact no grass-fed beef to be found, either fresh or pre-packaged. Abusing popular marketing terms like apothecary to refer to their standard pharmacy, and the heavy-handed use of cliché urban eco-chic interior design makes the whole place feel like a bizarre joke.

Very clean, nicely run store with kind of an amazingly varied selection of goods. When I slow down and look at whats available for even something like shampoo, I feel a bit overwhelmed by the choices. At the same time the selection isnt exhaustive (its missing Crystal Louisiana hot sauce, for example), but has more than a dozen other alternatives usually (all kinds of hot sauces Ive never seen before) to tickle your fancy. Ive heard the prices here are a bit high for the quality youre getting, but considering the high quality of the neighborhood and the nearby location to residents of Redwood Shores, its really my only go-to option. The parking lot spaces are very small, but theres a lot of them so I usually dont have much trouble parking. Seriously, come for the selection if nothing else.

After the latest remodel, I find I am coming here more. I both love and hate this place. For quick meals, its great They organize food into meals and have lots of prepared items. Lots of organic and specialty foods. On the downside this is not a "go to place" for groceries. They often do not have the fresh item Im looking for, as things are usually packaged up and "meal ready". For example, I wanted fresh basil for a recipe. Nope... Finally, if youre into beer and wine, they have an amazing collection. And...watch expiration dates, as often I find stuff that is at or near expiration.

I shop here a few times a week, and love it. Theres little that I cant find here, the occasional specially item, but it is rare that I need to go to a second store. Prices are reasonable and I like their rewards program. They have been expanding their prepared food selection, and now have a small bar in the front of the store. The only negative I have is that the sandwiches could be better. They are decent, but could stand some improvement.

Selection is good. Market is very clean. Prices are slightly higher than Trader Joes. The staff was extremely nice. While I was waiting to be rung up my toddler and preschooler started to complain they were thirsty. I was telling them they have to wait a few minutes until we get in the car when the cashier handed me a complimentary water bottle. So nice of her! I will definitely shop there again!

VERY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! NO ONE COMMUNICATES WITH EACH OTHER AT RALEYS. WAS TO HAVE A DELIVERY THIS MORNING AT 8:30AM. I CALLED AND GOT SOME LAME EXCUSE THAT "WE TRIED TO CALL YOU AND NO ONE ANSWERED" - THESE OFFICE PHONES DO NOT GO OFF UNTIL 5PM. GAVE THEM MY CELL PHONE ALSO - NO CALL. I WOULD NOT USE RALEYS AGAIN FOR CATERING! ADVISE TO YOU ALL - DO NOT USE!

This location is really nice but as you know, it is a bit more expensive grocery store. The store inside is also very clean and organized. I always found everything I looked for in there. They also have a place with food already cooked, sandwuiche and burritos stations and a bar*. There are tables to sit inside and outside too. Self checkout also available.

I wish this store was closer to me. The produce is awesome, the deli is well stocked with a lot of choices, the meat dept is all choice and very reasonable, and after grocery shopping I can grab a beer or glass of wine on the way out.
