You can get EVERYTHING you need. The largest selection of rice I have ever seen.Nice selection of fresh vegtables, fruits and seasonals from around the world...they even have Durian fruit!ve ever.Great Asian bakery! When the new store opens it will be fantastic!.The best freshest Peking duck Ive ever had (more on that later) all the prepared foods are made fresh daily, roast duck, salt chicken, whole roast pig, beef, pork belly, barbeque pork belly, beef tendon (to die for)duck tongue.Tons of fresh seafood that is across the board costs 1/4 to 1/3 less than any other fish market.Asian chefs love freshness so you can get live gulf jumbo shrimp, live lobster, live tilapia, live striped bass, live eel, even live dungeness crab!!Fish selection fresh whole salmon, tuna, bonito, wahoo, cobia, shark, grouper, kingfish, mackerel, striped bass blue fish, whiting halibut, flounder, look downs sheephead snapper yellowtail red mutton parrot fish beltfish pompano mullet drum sea trout shad & roe (in season)perch.oysters, yellow clam, surf clam, sea snail, scallop bay & sea, mussels, squid, bushels of blue crab conch, whelk with out a doubt its like a wholesale terminal market.I LOVE the place but be prepared they supply most of the asian restaurants in the area so the volume is high.Youll hear the ocasional beep beep of the forklifts moving pallets!!The place is a trip to an Asia Market 3000 miles away!!I HIGHLY recommend you explore 1st Oriental Market on W Colonial Dr Orlando at least once!! PS If the help is a little strained(language barrier) I found the customers who shop there very willing to spend their time and help anyone out.In fact I learned how to make Traditional Peking Duck with moshu pancake, scallions with hosin sauce from a customer. She was a wonderful Asian grandmother who spent a good 20 miniutes helping me.Now I pick up an authentically roasted Peking Duck(come early they can sell out by noon) at 1st Oriental Market and make a great dinner for 4 for about $25 instead of going out and spending $25 each! and my friends learn how to make it too!!

I nomally visit this store with my laosian wife and father in-law. Store has good selection and decent prices, but today I had a bad experience. I was purchasing some ginger candy, (which I always do) and went to the check out counter. The first cashier told me the price, I handed her my father in-laws EBT card and told her it would not swipe, she look kinda confused and went to get the head cashier. The head cashier smiled at her then walked over to my lane. When she got there, she looked at the photo on the card and then looked at me, the smile came off her face and then she looked in the bag and told me that I could not buy the ginger candy with a EBT card. I explained to her that I never had a problem like this before, but she was very rude and not professional in explaining why I couldnt purchase the items. This cashier gave the direct impression of being discriminating toward my race. From the time she saw me to the time I walked out the store I was feeling nothing but negative vibe from her. I myself come from a multicultural background and have a multicultural family. I have never encountered such bold dislike refusal of service from anywhere else. And for that reason alone I will be taking my business and all my family and friends to support another store. When a store gets to think that that are the biggest and best, sometimes they forget its the little people that made them!

The best Oriental-Asian supermarket in FL, it is well stocked, excellent & wide selection on everything from Asian Holidays items, household goods, dinner-cookware, the deli, produce, fresh(live!) seafood dept. as well as frozen foods. Exceptional selection of teas, herbs, and spices at great prices. Occassionally live plants such as Orchids, bamboo & bonsai are at good prices. The meat dept is not the best prices. But if you seek an adventurous-experimental Asian foodie shopping experience this is it. Westerners/English as a primary launages speakers, need to keep in mind some people (be they fellow shoppers or stock clerks) are not fluent bi-lingual/multi-linual to assist with a question or label. Prep for food glossaries of items needed or take along an app/translator/dictionary to assit in your food selection...some pkg items have basic english ingrediants listed or picture to ID the product. Be sure to check out their fresh & dried asian, mushrooms, tofu, soy, rice, green teas, and various kelps IE wakame for that special Japanaese theme dinner. (by a repeat custromer of US-Euro hertiage, who enjoys Multi Ethnic Foodie products) Have fun!

Good selection but poor customer service. I found some nice stainless steel pans, medium size priced at $18.99. took to register to buy they said it is priced wrong should be $24.99. I said there are many same priced at $18.99, and the bigger one is priced $24.99, smaller at $14.99. They said must be misspriced and would not offer me the better price. I purchased the smaller also misspriced for the $18.99. They took the other to back room and no one went to correct prices. I went back a month later and still wrong prices. Also to person who complained they did not treat her well because of race. From visiting China numerous times it is in their culture. They are not and most cases do not know USA polictically correct culture, as in China they can refuse service to anyone even for ethnicity. Remember it was only 40 years ago it was ok in USA to refuse service to people for ethnicity.

While I have been to several of the Oriental markets throughout the Orlando area along Colonial Drive, 1st Oriental Supermarket is without question the largest & busiest one in the area. They carry so many selections, brands, & choices that its almost overwhelming to go in there. Plan on taking your time--and even then you still might not make it through the entire store on a single visit. In fact, Ive been in there 6 or 7 times at least & still havent explored every corner of the store! Also, if you go in there on the weekends, plan on being patient when you check out. Even with all of their registers open, it can still take 15-20 minutes to get through the line as many locals frequently have VERY full shopping carts.

Amazing store. Amazing selection. I absolutely love the bakery. I stop in almost once a week for bread cake. For anyone complaining about bad costumer service, please remember that there is going to be a language barrier. Just because they say ok or ask if you speak Chinese (in English), doesnt mean they can speak English. I, myself can ask "Can you speak English?" and say "Sorry, I cant speak ____." in several languages. But thats all I can say. My best advice is research what youre looking for. The store is set up extremely well and you should be able to find it on your own with ease. Or as a fail safe, learn to ask for it in Chinese before you go. Google can give you a word and pronunciation.

I just called and asked if they sold ceramic rice bowls, the person on the phone didnt answer my question. Instead she ask me in plain English if I were Chinese. I said, no, I am not Chinese. Then the woman pretended not to speak English. I asked her to repeat her statement as I could not understand what she was saying to me. Then I repeated my request for rice bowls. She just kept on acting as if she couldnt hear me. Then I said I am hanging up now, since it is clear that you dont want my business. I am appalled! I think that I will take my business else where. Poor excuse for customer service if you are not Chinese.
